We stayed at the Carrington for 1 night on a weekday. The hotel was great, had lots of character and history to go with it., Room was a very good size, bed was so comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. On site parking was very welcome and easy to access.
nothing that would stop us from coming again

We liked the historic features of the building and the public spaces available to relax in. There was also a lot of historic photos, items and information about the hotel’s past.
The location was very convenient to local shops, restaurants and attractions.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable but a little too warm to sleep well.
The ensuite bathroom had lovely floor and wall tiles and was overall clean, however the shower area really needs a good scrub! It looked a felt dirty. It seemed a shame not to keep such lovely tiles looking their best.

Historic building and charm was a highlight. Location is excellent. Breakfast included was nice so that we could experience the ballroom
Bathroom needed a deep clean but was fine. Room heating was a bit too warm for us overnight. Overall these were not showstoppers and we enjoyed the stay.

Loved the old world charm and character of the hotel and the location was excellent, could walk everywhere we needed to go. Staff were friendly and efficient!
No complaints.

For the time we actually spent here, we enjoyed every minute staying at this hotel for our 2-day Grand Cliff Top Walk adventure, and we're already planning our next visit! Although Day 1 starts at Wentworth Falls, the hotel's close proximity to the train station made easy to get around. After a day of trekking, we couldn't wait to kick back at the hotel, but not before grabbing well-deserved schooners at the Old Bank Pub. Warm welcome at reception. Love the hertigage and creeky floors. Spacious room, the hot tub was a lifesaver for our tired muscles. Later that night, we indulged in a meal paired with local wine at the brasserie and then enjoyed the live music at the bar. Early night to begin Day 2 fresh. Hopped on the train Leura to finish at Scenic World.
Memorable birthday getaway – we couldn't fault a single thing. Everything fell into place. Can't wait to do it all over again.

Great central location with several restaurants close by. Parking facilities. Good continental breakfast. Lots of charm and character and a distinguished history.

The location and the decor
A rather restricted breakfast menu .
A pool or maybe a sauna would have been nice. Also marked it down for the lack of draw space and night safe in the room

Location is really convenient, especially for us without car, close to train station, Coles, main street, where is everything, what you need - cafés, bars, shops etc. We had continental breakfast, so yummy, they provided little pastries as well. Room size was bigger than we were expecting, plus we got bath tube. Really friendly and helpful staff.
Hotel is in old style, when you use stairs, they make noise, but in our room we weren't interrupt by this. Because we had to travel light, we couldn't attend dinner at hotel due to casual dress code, but we know for next time.

Lovely hotel, great location near to the train station. Was lovely to be able to sit in the lounge area & enjoy lunch or a drink.
The bread at breakfast was awful, cheap sliced white bread. The rooms could do with a decent coffee maker, instant sachets weren’t in keeping with the rest of the hotel.

The old world charm was nice, but a bit worn out. Location was wonderful.
No air-conditioning (to be expected) but no flyscreens on the window and the wooden window frame was rotting making it hard to open. Some mold in the bathroom. Lift out of service making it difficult to carry my luggage up three sets of old narrow stairs.

The staff at Reception and Dining Room were very pleasant and helpful. Dinner in the Dining Room was exceptional and tables were spaced well apart as per Covid rules. However, the breakfast was disappointing. The mini pastries and croissants were very greasy and I shouldn't think freshly made and I found the coffee was bitter but that is of course personal choice. The bathroom was wonderful as was the enormous spa bath which was very relaxing at the end of a busy day.
A hotel of this size and reputation with the number of steps up to Reception should have some staff to help guests with suitcases.

The Carrington is a beautiful old hotel. We love the comfort and atmosphere!

The Carrington is a wonderful old hotel with loads of character and style. The lounges, dining room and bar areas were all interesting and although repainted, retained the old world charm. Our room was large enough and contained some lovely furniture pieces. The views to the Sydney CBD, and across Katoomba to the Jamieson Valley were amazing from the second floor window. The bed was comfortable and all room facilities were convenient. The newly refurbished bathroom was large and modern and included an excellent shower. Undercover parking was spacious and convenient. The rather quaint elevator was appreciated. The included continental breakfast was quite extensive, the pastries and fruits were very fresh and the atmosphere with pleasant music was really nice. The hotel is very central in the town.
Nothing. It was just as we had hoped it would be.

Charming old building in a good location within Katoomba. Enclosed garage for cars.
Staff were rather offhand and not terribly helpful at reception - my son was spoken to quite rudely when he returned his key and tried to explain that I would be paying for both rooms, despite the booking and credit card in my name. Breakfast was fairly limited and not well-replenished, had to ask for more bread and more fruit as the buffet platters were almost empty. Some of the decor needs updating (eg cracked paint in our bathroom)

We received a very warm welcome when we arrived from the lady on reception. The hotel was very atmospheric with lots of public areas tucked away. Breakfast was continental style ; adequate choice and filling.
Nothing comes to mind except the Cockatoo that screamed at my wife when it was sitting on our window sill.

Beautiful old building and architectural features and fitting - old world charm. Nice breakfast and enjoyed Champagne Charlies.
Very windy night and a cable outside our room banged all night

Very spacious comfortable room with lovely furnishings!
The lift to the first floor was difficult to manage with suitcases. Suggest a staff member needs to be on hand when guests are checking in. Especially for elderly guests like us!

The room was quite comfortable although a little 'dated'.

Breathtakingly beautiful character-filled building, lovely staff, room was spacious.
Couldn't see out of the windows. Felt a little claustrophobic. Restaurant wasn't open, referred to Bank Restaurant - food was burnt and only craft beer available.

Great locations with old world charm. Generously sized rooms. Nice breakfast in the grand dining room.
Bed wasn’t the most comfortable I have slept in - bit of a “jelly bed”
