Very nice place, room and staff in good country location.
We hadn’t realised that the food in the restaurant was Gurkha. There was only limited English food on the child’s menu, which was nice. The Nepalese staff were very friendly and tried hard but it was all a bit amateurish. The bar didn’t have draft beer. A pity because it’s a very nice venue. The website had not mentioned the ethnicity of the place when we booked.

In a nice setting. Big room. Very clean. Good breakfast. Nice and peaceful. Accommodating staff as I made this booking last minute late at night.

Kitchen accommodated my request for soup but we had to wait ages for it otherwise food was limited to Indian cuisine.
Breakfast was not great...I had prepared the staff evening before when we checked in that my partner had had cancer treatment and had difficulty swallowing and requested porridge and scrambled egg for him...they brought both together?!
When I said that the egg would be cold before he could eat it they took it away..they brought it back later but they had been keeping it warm either in oven or under heat lamp and egg had gone hard..he could not eat it. When I came to pay bill I said I thought £12 was a lot of money for porridge and they then took off 1 breakfast.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, hotel was lovely and clean, hotel room was a decent size, very clean and bed was very very comfortable, tv in the hotel room was a decent size as well not a tiny little screen like most hotels and it had apps on it so we were able to login to catch up on programmes. You were provided with enough towels for the number of guests staying and the towels were actually big enough to fit round your whole body. We had breakfast both days and it was cooked to perfection, perfect portion size and very tasty. The hotel had a nice atmosphere too it as well. Most definitely will be staying at this hotel again.

It would have been nice to have been greeted with a smile a certain degree of enthusiasm. First impressions are so important

Rooms were very spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The TV was Massive as well. The staff were very helpful.
The shower went from boiling hot to warm and almost scalded me a few times.

No hot water and couldn't use the bath as plug not working

Location was good, close to what I needed for evening and what I needed for the next day. Loads of parking on site and so no issues there.
The room was heavily stained, the carpet curtains and the furniture were in a poor state. There were marks over the walls, and fixtures looked as though they were patched up, with retro fitted exposed screws holding them together. The Bathroom was in a poor state, mould was bad around the bath/Shower, mirror was flaking around the edges and looked water damaged. The water was not warm, let alone hot in the morning, so shower cold to use. Overall the cleanliness and the quality of the room was poor, It needs a good update, and the WIFI signal in my room was poor,

The room was clean and comfortable and the dinner was good. Parking was also good and the hotel was close to where I was going to be working.
The check in was awful. There was nobody on reception and when I called out to a lady working in the back office she asked me what I wanted in a very abrupt way. When I stated I wanted to check in I was directed to a sealed envelope containing my key card on the counter. There was no welcome, no asking if I had stayed before and no direction to the facilities etc. or details of where the restaurant was. Really bad front of house and not what you expect when you arrive. It really brought down the hotel which apart from the check in was good.

The beds were comfortable and the full English breakfast very good.
The food at dinner was well cooked and portions generous.
The location was quiet and peaceful.
The staff were pleasant and helpful.
Whilst the people on duty all worked very hard the hotel did seem short staffed, sometimes causing delays in the restaurant at dinner.
I disliked the fact that Booking.com did not make it clear that all their prices did not include VAT, so cost 20% more overall, and breakfast advertised as £10 was in fact £12.This is not a criticism of the hotel , but of lack of clarity in the booking

UNFORTUNTELY THERE WAS A WEDDING ON AND SO WE WERE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THE BAR OR RESTAURANT. NO FREE WIFI IM BEDROOMS EITHER

The staff were excellent
Certainly the room we were given had seen better days and the guy off reception spraying a carpet with air freshener in the car park at the back of the hotel didn’t do anything to change this?

Have stayed here a number of times over ten years and it’s a very comfortable hotel. The car park is close proximity to the hotel entrance so not far to transfer your luggage to the rooms. All the rooms I’ve stayed in are spacious and well furnished. The staff on duty this visit wee very helpful, welcoming & friendly. My evening meal was good quality fish & chips and breakfast was also good. This venue will remain a regular stopover location for me and I can recommend
Understaffing was very apparent and indeed the restaurant staff also conducted checkout in the morning but were unable to access or operate the tills to provide my vat receipt - this was subsequently sent. The coffee drink options at breakfast wee limited to “Coffee” - no latte or other options available.

Breakfast was delicious and staff were friendly. The hotel was very nice.

Food was nice, staff very friendly
Only enough hot water for 1 very quick shower. Doors slamming all day and night. We weren’t told until arrival that the restaurant wasn’t available for dinner and we would have to go elsewhere. We actually picked this hotel bcoz it had a restaurant.

Late booking to break up a 6 hour each way drive. Simple quick check in. Good price. Good size room. Comfortable-ish. Large car park with free parking. Decent shower and lots of hot water.
Hotel in need of a refurb - looking tired. Could have been cleaner with marks and squished spiders on the bathroom walls/tiles. WC would only do a half flush. Food OK but nothing special.

The location was great, the receptionist on arrival and the young man in the bar were lovely, the room was a good size.
The shower was tepid and lacked power, when trying to use the hot.water in the sink and bath it came out as barely more than a dribble.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everywhere was clean and the bed was comfortable. The food was excellent, despite there being a wedding going on at the same time. Variable times for the evening meal and breakfast were helpful. Nice grounds but a game of croquet would have been fun.
There were some repairs needed to the room and the drawers in the dressing table were very stiff. We actually changed them round and that helped. The dressing table mirror needed to be secured to the wall as it could potentially fall. We still enjoyed our time there!
