Really nice room, everything clean and comfortable with lots of amenities available. Staff was courteous and helpful. Rooms are in a historic Victorian building above a small pub where the breakfast is served. We got a delicious breakfast for very cheap. Location is gorgeous on a ridge that overlooks a green vista. Nice to stay out of the city centre but have easy access to the downtown by car or bus! I would come again!
There is nothing I did not like but just bear in mind that this is not an expensive place so could be perceived as basic if you have unrealistic expectations or are expecting something sumptuous ;)

Great location, obliging staff, comfortable bed
Room a little warm in summer but pedestal fans provided.

Location, was my local 50 years ago.
Room wasn't cleaned daily, coffee/tea etc wasn't replaced as used. Stayed at the hotel whenever returned for visits slowly been going downhill, won't be coming back.

Big spacious room with everything necessary
Tea and coffee facilities in room
Lovely staff
Beautiful location and building
Beautiful garden at the back :)
-Cleaner hoovering around tables whilst eating breakfast and back doors wide open.
-Room key was all sticky like drink had been spilled over it (real pub feel)

The staff are all really friendly and helpful. This place is a down to earth hotel with free parking right outside. The bed was comfy and a good size. We had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was lovely, with a kids option available - though we didn't bring the kids this time, we will the next time we visit. A great location for what we needed and for getting around Liverpool. Would definitely stay here again!
The curtains were falling off the hooks a little but my husband just popped them back on so we could close the curtains fully. Not really a big issue at all.

The only thing that was not great was the drains left a horrible smell in our room in bathroom

Lovely historic pub in a very quiet location but a short drive to the city centre and attractions.
Nothing.

Bed very comfy, location very nice, pub is big and has different themed nights.
Very dirty carpets, no hot water, noisy pipes when tap on or toilet flushed. Windows old, damaged and filthy. Could be such a lovely place with a good clean and a bit of an upgrade to bathroom.
3.9
Clean large room which was excellent for the price
3.9
Comfortable room. Meals available on site.
Plumbing extremely noisy whenever WC was flushed or wash basin emptied
