Highly recommend this hotel with breakfast.

Fabulous Hotel. Was the most traditional feel of the hotels we visited. Set menu breakfast was typically Japanese and staff were so good to us. The room was massive with some lovely touches, paper interior windows, Japanese style flooring. The Onsen was fabulous and everything in the town was short walking distance.

部屋が非常に広々していてよかった。内風呂を無くして、その分、広いトイレと洗面所へと改装したと聞いていますが、大正解だと思う。

A must-stay place to bring calm, care and joy.

Private bath with own onzen water directly from the hot springs nearby. Excellently located for walks to the open air onzen up the hills. Located only minutes walk from the main square and the many shops and restaurants but in a quite part of the town. Comfortable, clean with great food and wonderful staff. Definitely book a massage, it was the best I had in Japan by far!

L’ambiance très traditionnelle de cet établissement. Les onsens sont magiques, et les chambre reposantes

Ce n’est pas qu’on a pas aimé mais le petit déjeuner traditionnel est à prendre en compte, avec de très bonnes préparation et d’autres plus difficiles pour nous occidentaux

温泉の質は凄く良かった他は普通で特に無し

1、トイレ使用中に自動で照明が切れる 2、朝　風呂に入った時に温水がなかなか出ず冷たい状態だった 3、洗面所のお湯も出なかった 4、窓の外は殺風景で寂しかった 5、高額にも関わらず何の利点も無かった

ゆっくりと、贅沢な時間を過ごせた一泊でした

足湯のロケーションがよく、何度も楽しませていただきました。屋内の広さも空調も快適でとても過ごしやすかったです。部屋の広さは、掲載されている写真よりも正直狭く感じましたが、清潔感があり大変気持ちよく過ごせました。部屋付きの温泉も露天風呂も気持ちよく楽しませていただきました。食事に関しては、品数が多く、また一つ一つが新鮮な食材でした。満足感のある朝夕の食事でした。配膳していた方々は外国人の方が多かった印象ですが、特に不便もなく大変心のこもった接客をしてくださっていました。

特にありません。またゆっくり過ごしに来れたらと思います。

本館の温泉と、食事は良かったけど、あとは寝る所は確保したと言ったところかな。

料理は、夕食、朝食とも美味しかった。

別館の、部屋は、全く想像と違ってフロントに繋がる内線電話もなく、ルームサービスも無い貸し部屋状態で窓の外は公衆トイレ。　部屋に冷蔵庫も無かった。

Very relaxing and simplistic. Wonderful atmosphere.

We went during the off-season in mid-November. The hotel was mostly empty. We didn't need to reserve the private onsen because the public one was empty the entire time. It was great!

The slippers did not fit my U.S. size 15 feet. Since the slippers were hard construction, the heel dug into my arch when walking to the onsen. Not their fault though! They apologized profusely. I do think there is an opportunity for a company to provide oversized slippers to all Ryokans, Hotels, and Hostels in Japan!

Un beau séjour à Kusatsu

La situation à mi-chemin entre le grand bain public extérieur et le centre du village est idéale. Les repas étaient vraiment exquis, même si j'ai trouvé que le service était un peu trop rapide le soir. Tout le personnel était attentionné, aux petits soins, on se sentait bien accueilli. Le futon était relativement confortable, mais comme tout futon. La chambre était grande, avec une belle vue sur le village. Super onsen dans l'établissement également, je recommande !

Superb place

This stay is highlight of our trip to Japan, with big room size and in room onsen. Less tourist as the hotel is a bit further from tourist attraction. Love the classic road bicycle hanging in the hotel.

Lovely quiet place

It's a nice quiet place away from Tokyo. The baths are soothing. They provided us tea and some manju as snacks in the room. The location is just a walk away from the touristy places like Yubatake and the Sainokawara park. Dinner and breakfast is good. We also rented their 45min private onsen to see how it's like. It costs us an extra 1K++ yen, but it was worth it. Would've booked two days for the full experience but sadly we don't have time.

The floorboars of the bathroom in our room made squeaky loud noises when we walk. Understandable cuz it's an old building. Also the check out time is a bit early.

The rotenburo water was very pure. The staff were very nice. The car park was very useful. The room was good, though we didn't get the best side of the building. The art cafe was pleasant and it's very close to open air hot springs.

The rotenburo space wasn't very inspired and a little bit sterile. It was also closed at 9:00, which I would imagine is peak time for showers. The location was OK for those of us who like to walk, but a good 5 minute walk from the center.

Excellent stay! Can't wait to come back!

Service was impeccable. All of the staff - from the front desk to the restaurant were all very polite and friendly. They gave us a tour of our room and the hotel facilities upon check-in. They even offered to take our pictures! Breakfast was lovely in terms of taste and presentation. What we enjoyed most was the onsen experience. The hotel has their own onsens - public and private. We booked a private one and really enjoyed it. We walked around town and went onsen-hopping wearing the hotel-provided yukatas. Really pretty and comfy! This hotel and the onsen town gave us the ultimate experience and it was the highlight of our trip. We will be coming back for sure!
