Villas Santa Cruz is a place you don't want to leave- so we didn't! The owners are wonderful and the staff is top notch. The pools are beautiful, food amazing and beach at the property gorgeous to walk to watch the surfers or sunset. The breakfast is amazing and all the gardens where the food comes from are fun to walk around. Definitely try the passion fruit margarita.
We don't have any dislikes. The hotel communication before our stay and their help booking our transportation was impeccable.

The beach
My room had no view to the ocean. In fact most of the hotel areas suffer from that

our rooms were in the main villa... really too close from the kitchen. So that we had all the smell of the kitchen for breakfast / lunch and dinner. Given the price we paid, it's really not acceptable.
Moreover, the beach is beautiful... but full of rocks just in front.

The hotel is right on the beach and has gorgeous sunsets. Views from the rooms are beautiful and the pool was pretty. A few cute dogs and a cat live on site that were very friendly. Breakfast included which was nice, easy walk to The Green Room for dinner.
Noise in the main building (blenders, dishes, people talking in the kitchen and lobby) that could all be heard inside the rooms.
The size of the first room that we stayed in the first night was so small with an uncomfortable soft bed. The staff was nice enough to move us to another room with more space, but it did not change the noise issue. $800 was a lot for us to spend on two nights and we were disappointed in the cost compared to the value.

Beautiful rooms, beds were a little small and tended to settle in the middle with two people, but it didn’t keep us from having a rest.

Excellent every day
Would like to be able to charge dinner charges @ the adjacent Beach Bar/Restaurant Greens to our hotel account.

Beautiful isolated and quiet location, excellent for family time, rest, and exceptional ocean views, beach walks, and great heated (solar) pool.
Staff have great attitude, but lack training to be more proactive, and quicker (to pickup used plates and cups from the pool, clean up rooms).

everything!
the bar waiters at the pool that were watching the cross on their phone whilst laughing out & talking loud
& the reception area is rather weird and they didn’t give us a lot/enough/the right info always…
also we had 3 nights in a row a cat fight / cat meowing on our terrace… 😼

The breakfast is included in the stay and it definitely is worth it! It was a full on breakfast that would have cost 60-70 dollars elsewhere and it was homemade! Delicious. They deliver coffee to your room every morning and it was amazing! They also had little treats before bed. Honestly this place was amazing and we can’t wait to come back!

Location was incredibly. Sat watching the whales and pelicans with their delicious breakfast every morning was a total treat and the beach was wonderfully quiet and unspoilt.

wonderful location in front of the sea, very good facilities, beautiful rooms, helpful and nice staff, incredible pool.
although it didn’t ruin our stay, food was definitely not up to par for the level of the place, seemed more like an average texmex than high quality that you would expect from the price, drinks were also average. Also the kitchen noise could be heard in the rooms.

beautiful boutique hotel.
music at pool slightly too loud. it’s a beautiful, peaceful location, waves rolling in, enjoyed relaxing and reading by pool, slightly spoilt by loud music, but they did turn it down when we asked.

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Santa Cruz. The location is wonderful, the food is delicious and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We first stayed in Mango Bungalow and it is absolutely amazing. Great views, very quiet and very comfortable.
For our last two nights we stayed in Suite Tortuga and it is not the same as Mango but the bed and room are very comfortable. The one complaint I have and if Suite Tortuga or the one next to it were the only ones available I would not stay at Villa Santa Cruz is their is a rooftop sitting area with a fire that is open to everyone. If you are staying in Tortuga and someone decides to have a fire at night you can hear everything. I had to ask a group to please be quiet as I could hear everything and they weren't even loud. Moving of chairs you can hear, putting of firewood into the fire you can hear, I couldn't sleep until the group was done and left the rooftop. I think if there is a rooftop it should only be used during the day by everyone and only the room that shares a ceiling with the rooftop at night, especially when the bed is directly below the fire and sitting area.

Outstanding breakfast. Enjoyed the close access to the beach for our morning walks and run.
Nothing to report here as everything was beyond our expectations.

We loved our stay at Villa Santa Cruz. Almost everything was perfect (see below)
Our bungalow was next to a new structure still under construction. We were not told in advance which was disappointing. As a result we never had a 100% quiet and private experience while at the bungalow.
