Amazing place, personnel outstanding.
There was nothing that I didn’t like

A great room with plenty of space. Nice design and amenities. Beautiful gardens and outdoor dining.
lovely staff as always and we enjoyed our stay. Delicious supper and lovely service at breakfast.
Lighting really not great though in bathroom. Even worse in twin room as no bedside lamp supplied which is annoying when wanting to read in bed etc. No space to hang clothes up either. No mirror in either bedroom. Quite difficult to access twin bedroom.

Location was perfect and had a lovely room especially the bathtub in the room.
Was slightly disappointed by the food options for dinner was expecting more considering location and local produce etc.
Felt it was slightly overpriced for the stay considering it was only a continental breakfast included.

The room was nicely decorated, good amenities and a comfortable bed
There was an additional charge of £25 for the dog which was not stated when we booked. The breakfast included in the cost was only continental, not the full breakfast menu listed on the website. The room was comfortable but small and you could hear every footstep of the fellow guests. We chose to have dinner in the restaurant where the food was mediocre and the staff weren't at all attentive (had to ask multiple times for water for the table!)

Great place. Amazing staff and food

The outside sitting area is stunning I lived watching the chef prepare freshly made pizzas which by the way was the best I’ve eaten .
it can be very noisy as the rooms are adjacent to the garden .

Nice country pub feeling, friendly staff and nice quiet location. The restaurant closed early on Sunday night due to deep cleaning so we eat earlier than we would have liked but the staff were very accommodating.

Very nice Cotswold location pub
Outside seating area looked very nice
Not impressed with my stay although some of the issues may have been missed by myself when booking.
Knew that the room had a bath but didn’t expect there to be no shower. Bath did have an expensive looking tap/shower combo but no shower curtain so couldn’t really have a shower of any sorts.
Would have really appreciated a bar type snack in the evening (not too hungry) but was informed at the bar that only a roast was available.
Breakfast in the morning was included but not clear (to me anyway) that only the continental was part of the ‘deal’ and all the cooked was additional cost.
In summary, cons were:
No shower in the room
Bed very soft, not ideal for anyone with back issues (such as myself)
Breakfast (confused by what was included in the room rate)
Parking very sparse
Food menu (Sunday)

Whether you’re looking for a weekend stay or an elegant yet rustic dining experience, The Swan in Ascott-Under-Wychwood is the place to be!
Accessible by train or by car, the historic, charming pub is nestled in the folds of the Oxfordshire hills. A quiet village surrounds this popular establishment, and the knowledgeable and friendly staff welcome you in like an old friend.
Now under new management, Maggie and her amazing team provide the best customer service you can ask for. We often see the staff participating in wonderful interactive conversations with guests. Whether you’re sat in the cozy bar, or in the sophisticated dining area, you’ll be guaranteed an experience of indulging taste sensations.
The pub comes alive in the evenings; even as guests are being seated, you feel as if time has slowed down and you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
Fashionably presented, the dishes offer a contemporary take on classic meals. Nothing but the finest ingredients from local Cotswold farmers, and all professionally curated.
We write fondly of the superior chicken and fish dishes, particularly the Sunday roasts. You can’t go wrong with fish and chips either! For a more luxurious take on dinner, their tender and juicy steaks with an assortment of colorful sides. Have this with a fine wine as recommended by the wonderful staff.
If you’re in need of a comfortable yet glamorous night’s sleep, The Swan boasts an impressive plumage, revealing eight divine bedrooms. Each room is well-equipped; everything you need is available, including fresh milk from the bar upon request.
A special mention goes to the kind and professional staff members who repeatedly go above and beyond for every customer and guest. Every time we’ve visited, we leave with smiles on our faces, satisfied stomachs, and memories to last a lifetime!

The room was excellent: large, beautifully decorated and nice touches with a welcome card and quality water in glass bottles. The food was outstanding; as was the cider! Staff were friendly and helpful.
Not much to be honest.

The room was too warm which made sleeping difficult. I’d ask not to be in the same room again.

Beautiful room, with a very comfortable bed and a bath tub in the room.
The hotel, as well as the restaurant, are run by new owners, and they are doing an excellent job. They have great eye for detail in making us feel welcome. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but I can tell you the we loved the cookies. 😋
We had great weather, and enjoyed the garden every day!
The included breakfast is wonderful.

A wonderful village Inn, cosy and was made very welcome. Food was incredible too. The room and bed were lovely.
We thought that a cooked breakfast was included in the price, which it wasn't. However, the complimentary continental breakfast was superb. A very minor niggle as I felt that could have been made clearer when booking. As I said , this is the only very slight niggle.

We liked most things about the hotel and the staff were fabulous. We also loved the cookies which were left for us each day.
For the price paid per night I would have expected a cooked breakfast rather than cereal/yoghurt/toast. I also didn't like being woken at midnight by people upstairs from me.

Though I was advised on ringing the Swan that there were no EV charging facilities I was surprised to find a charging point so we could top up and drive home without a further charging stop.
Bar open longer?!
