Staff were very friendly, location was brilliant. Hotel was clean. Shower was amazing!
Pillows (too soft for me but each to their own)
No mushrooms for breakfast buffet

breakfast was okay. room was big.
pretty disappointing. I know someone has to go in the rooms underground but when you pay a hefty amount for a king room very far in advance you at least expect some daylight through the windows - it felt like night time the whole time we were there which i know disrupts my sleep and mood. on top of that we must have been under the bar as the music was thumping from about 6pm until very late, not ideal when we needed to be up early for a wedding - again, i understand someone has to go there but it just added to our negative feelings. cleanliness was poor, there were 'interesting marks' on the headboard and i had to clean the toilet myself as it wasn't clean enough, corridor smells like urine in parts. I'm really not overly fussy (though it might sound like i am) but i felt like we wasted our money. however, i have to say it seems like we were just unfortunate as the other reviews are really good which is why we picked the hotel in the first place.

Perfect location, good choice of breakfast, lovely building with history.
Rooms slightly dated - walkway carpets had some unidentified stains possibly from the night before but now sure! Poor lighting in our room.

Ok, the staff are professional and informative. The hotel is about a 15 min walk to the Lime St Station and central to many areas. The bed was comfortable.
The room a very dark. I needed to work in my room and the lighting was only provided by two tiny over the bed lamps. Even with the provision of a desk lamp, it was hard to see. Satisfactory lighting was provided in the bathroom but not in the bedroom. The food was very pre packaged and very little on offer that was fresh and healthy.

Location and cleanliness
Breakfast . Had no bacon or mushrooms . Bacon and beans were empty for ages . People were waiting for it to be topped up and asked a few staff who said they would check but no bacon came out .

The hotel was situated right in the centre so handy for everything. It was very clean. Staff were really helpful and friendly.
It was just a little dark in our room. Could have done with an extra light.
4.5
Great location, helpful staff, spacious rooms and clean, good selection of breakfast items.
lighting in bedroom was poor. Some lighting not working, housekeeper did her very best to sort it, but needed an electrician. Lighting is important because the rooms are quite dark. One lift not working, which was causing queuing, especially when staff needed to travel between floors with trolleys.
3.5
We love the location, we stayed here last time 5 years ago and it is just central for everywhere.
since last time we stayed it seems grubbier, the rooms definitely need upgrading, especially the paint and carpets. The breakfast was poor, no tomotoes, or mushrooms, and the replenishment of available food was slow. We were there for 3 mornings and didn't once sit down and eat our breakfast together.

We love our stay here . We were given a complimentary breakfast , because we are returning customers and a room upgrade .
3.5
The customer service was good and the room was spacious, I got a free upgrade and loved the view of the city. The food was great and the cafe/restaurant is spectacular but also very comfortable. There was a laundry service but also facilities to use for free.
The room needed a little touching up as there was some wall paper peeling and the side board needed some fresh paint. Netflix wasn't working on my TV for the first couple of days then they were able to get a technician out. The smart TV wasnt very user friendly. Quite a few dishes on the menu were out of stock which was unfortunate and I think they could do with more options on their menu.

Not what it was ! Gone downhill fast 😟

Location is great
Breakfast was poor, food lacked any sort of taste, would of also been better if the breakfast was kept filled up instead of it running down to the last bits and having to ask for replacement

Location, breakfast, nice room.

Staff very personable and efficient. Hotel very clean. Food ok, comfortable bed

Location was ideal. Only a short walk to the shops and the nightlife. Also close to the docks.
Had breakfast included which was great. Lots of choice on the buffet and they served from 8am until 11am so still had the option for a lie in! Really good late check out available too of 12pm.
Room looked a little tired. Lighting was poor in the room but there were plenty of sockets for phone chargers etc. Also had iron, ironing board and hairdryer available in room. The fridge in the room was very poorly stocked. Only had one bottle of water available. There was a kettle and tea and coffee facilities.
The shower leaked badly. Reported to reception but they had no rooms available to change to and as it was Saturday there was no maintenance available until Sunday afternoon which was after our check out.

lovely hotel close to everything, but particularly the night life. huge room, comfy bed & friendly staff. Breakfast was very good too 😋

The bed was not very comfortable and the pillows were too soft

Absolutely love aloft, it’s a beautiful building the rooms are wonderful, we love staying here!
3.0
Good central location. Friendly helpful staff. Comfy big bed, larger than average room. Powerful shower. Very good breakfast with lots of choices. Cooked breakfast tasty and fresh fruit and yogurt and cereal options very good. Value for money ok but I had a booking.com discount, wouldn’t been expensive without this. Cocktail bar with snacks had a friendly atmosphere.
Lack of hanging clothes storage and drawers. No hooks for coats/just one for a towel. Not enough towels initially but more provided on request. Only one biscuit! However two on second night. Couldn’t get tv signed onto WiFi but this wasn’t really too much of an issue.
3.5
Great central location & lovely staff, always smiling and happy to help.very comfortable beds.
Room felt a little grimy, I felt like the bathroom could have been cleaner. Especially the sliding door and behind the sink bottom of the tap. There was paint coming off the walls and the skirting boards were a mess.
The lift to room 603 is extremely slow and rickety it needs upgrading. I timed the exit and it took me 5mins to call the lift on 6th to exiting the building.
The breakfast was poor in our opinion. The breakfast wasn’t refilled fast enough, and the coffee was terrible.

Well from the greeting at the front desk, to the room/accessories to the breakfast exceeded our expectations. All staff were very pleasant and happy to help. We will be back. Thank you to you all for making our stay extra special.

Great location. Nice rooms.
WiFi didn’t work and when it did it was extremely slow.
2.5
Great location. Majestic and historic building. Good shower, linen and comfortable bed.
Interiors incongruous with a heritage building like this. Magnificent ground floor has been poorly thought through with modern, cheap decor and furnishings - reception, 'snack area', bar and restaurant resembled an airport check-in. Staff trying, but not a polished customer service experience or well dressed. Bedrooms are so dark and grey. Plastic cups, plastic curtains!, poor quality furniture and carpet. Breakfast OK, but just OK. Very much a help yourself affair with absolute minimum staff to refill the food and clear tables.
How's about a top floor bar with a view of the iconic Mersey and 3 Graces? Then you'd really live up to the name of the hotel.
2.5
The hotel has a strong curb side appeal with a nice main area with a nice looking bar with a pool table and foosball table. The staff were friendly and it wasn't overly busy.
We were put in a room on the below ground floor, which when the hotel is next to a busy train station meant we heard trains going approximately every 5-10 minutes which didn't stop til midnight and then were running from 5:45 in the morning which meant we didn't get a good night's sleep.
4.0
It was close enough to the bars and shops
Breakfast wasn’t included in the price, wasn’t really enough of choice on the hot breakfast, bed was very uncomfortable, if I had the choice I probably wouldn’t stay again,
4.5
Nice hotel with a traditional but modern feel to it. Room was very big and spacious with a huge bed. Air con was excellent during a hot summers night. Breakfast was okay, not a bad Spread, extras are available to order and be cooked fresh.

The room was large, clean and comfortable. We brought our dog and despite the lower level being dog friendly it did not smell of other dogs anywhere.
Smudge loved the dog bed as much as we loved ours...great sleeps all round.
Gym was more than enough, compact but everything you needed.
All staff were friendly

Central location, lovely rooms, amazing staff, helpful and friendly. Tasty food!
Mattress wasn’t particularly clean when covers were removed. Our lesser room was bigger than the room we were “upgraded to”. The room we stayed in for the majority of our stay wasn’t very bright
4.5
I loved the fact the beds in the twin rooms were at least 4ft wide and so comfortable. The staff at breakfast were also very helpful. Pippa on Reception was very welcoming also.
