Nice bedroom with a nice bathroom.
Very close to a busy road, a bit noisy to sleep with windows open if you are not a heavy sleeper

Great stay. Location is perfect, wonderful hosts, rooms were very clean.
3.0 / 10.0
Very clean, descent location near a few restaurants, etc.
The double room on the first floor was awful. The shower is tiny and there is no air conditioning. Normally, the lack of AC is not an issue, but this room in particular has two windows which are surrounded by a walkway and a busy road, so it is not secure and very loud if we left them open. As said by other reviewers, the room was also next to the reception area, and the staff were talking very loudly to eachother both late at night (after 23:00) and very early in the morning (nearing 05:30).. since the halls are tiled on the floor and walls, this was very loud. We did not sleep well at all given these circumstances.
Finally, this is a CASH ONLY property, of which we were not made aware via the listing (we would not have booked this hotel if we knew this). The listing does not explicitly state this and because there weren’t any other places left, we had no choice but to go to the ATM and get money and pay the astronomical exchange fees.

Our room was clean and cute, nice little balcony out overlooking the street. Manuel was super helpful, helped store our luggage while we toured and had great recommendations for food! 😍
There was a bit of street noise but this was minor and the back apartments may not even hear a thing.
9.0 / 10.0
Manuel is a great host, personable and recommendable. The location is near to town center, train and busses. Rooms are moderate size with large bathrooms. Rooms are made everyday. Manuel has a small Cafe under the hotel where you can have drinks and pastries.
Hotels and accommodations in Sintra are expensive, this hotel was moderately priced compared to other accommodations.

Great location, amazing accommodation. Rooms are spacious and clean, and the bed is amazingly comfortable. Everything is super close to the hostel. Staff is extremely friendly, easy-going and helpful. They give you all the information you need in the spot. Downstairs is a nice cafe with great cakes and food.
8.0 / 10.0
The room is authentic and has everything that you need. Location is great and the host was super friendly and helpful.
There are several decent cafes in 5-7 minutes walk distance.
Check in and check out process is fast and clear.
The room is too small to stay with 2 people for more than 1-2 nights (but this was mentioned in the description).
We were not able to park on the street nearby the hotel, we found a spot on public Sintra parking (during the day this parking was full).

Staff friendliness.
Nice balcony.
Cozy place.
Little of sound of the cars of the road, I would suggest adding some soundproofing to the window.

They nailed all the basics like clean room, quiet (even though on a busy street), attentive staff, comfortable bed, hot and strong shower, strong WiFi. Manuel, who runs the cafe downstairs as well, is very kind and helpful. Super close to the Portela train station and short walk to Sintra station. They kept luggage safe for travelers after check out if needed. Great value stay!
Nothing, everything was great.

Great place, clean rooms, nice balcony, friendly staff. Good cafe that also belongs to the same owner.

Central and easy to get to the sights. Everything is in order and there is a nice terrace, where you can eat and relax. Shopping facilities nearby. Nice large bathroom
Try to get a room in the back away from the at times busy road running by in front of the house. in the night it all quiets down and we slept without any disturbances.

The owner was wonderful! Accommodating in every way, helped us with parking, kept our bags safe for us after check in, and he ran the congenial cafe below. Awesome

Property was sparking clean, comfortable bedding and it was a little chilly during our stay our friendly hostess had heated the room for us before our arrival. She was kind to tell us about all the bus routes to the main attractions although we walked as it was close enough for us and we did not mind the uphill hike to where we were going. Great location - close enough to the Old Town but not right in the center with plenty of little cafés and restaurants close by. Her husband has a little snack bar downstairs where we popped in for a coffee and a beer. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!
