The atmosphere of the property was old world charm. All of the little touches like the Easter chocolate and hot cross buns were lovely. The breakfast hamper had so much food and freshly made bread.. The fire was set for us and our every wish was catered for.
The only thing was that the bed was a little hard for our liking. But that's just a personal preference.

great location, lovely hosts
TV noise between the two rooms

The location was very pretty, a tree filled garden with lots of shade and small wildlife. The address lies on the edge of the village and the road leads to one of the town's major lookouts and is a good starting places for walks in the Blackheath area. Access to the centre is a good walk but easy by car without the need to use the busy main road.
The Hideaway is roomy and comfortable for two.
Parking was ample (3 hires in close proximity to each other) and close by.
The decor is rather dated and the layout is not very efficient with an ante chamber between kitchen and bathroom. It seems like a 30's property which was restocked with furniture in the sixties and electrical equipment from the turn of the century.

Lovely Breakfast provided

This is a lovely property, the owners See and George do a marvelous job of giving you a beautiful experience.
I don't know what you could find to dislike.

Our hostess went far beyond the usual, offering us lifts and providing very generous supplies for breakfast.
The fire was relaid for us every morning. Everything was spotlessly clean. The garden setting was very quiet and peaceful and the location handy for local walks. Evenings by the log fire a delight.
Nothing.

The fire place with wood already chopped and stacked, amazing breakfast, friendly host.

It's always a pleasure staying at the Secret Hideway

Offerings for breakfast were plentiful. See was amazing very friendly and accommodating. The grounds were lovely and it was very peaceful just what the doctor ordered. Good value for money having breakfast included.
The kitchen is a little small and quite awkward having the extractor fan so low when cooking on the hot plates.

nice and quiet, lovely setting
nothing.

The accommodation had everything we needed. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again

This was a quiet location but close to many of the things we wanted to see and do. Supplies provided for breakfast were abundant and coffee pods were a nice touch for when we were in a rush, although we did use the plunger coffee as well.
There wasn't a lot of bench space to prepare food but we got by by using the dining table for preparation and that was only for breakfast. Otherwise it was fine.

Breakfast (self-catering) was extremely generous -- we didn't eat it all! The unit was quite spacious (the biggest of the three there), but snug and very nicely decorated. There was an abundance of thoughtful touches in its presentation. The kitchen was very well equipped. The property is historic, extremely quiet, and set in beautiful and extensive gardens with many little nooks and crannies for sitting outside, having a BBQ etc. (weather permitting). Being equipped with Netflix and DVDs, one can have as indolent or as active a holiday as desired. We found it supremely relaxing.
The armchairs in the main room were a little too firm (after sitting in them for a few hours). This was literally the only thing I didn't like. Also I would say that having a car would be ideal. I didn't realise how far the property is from Blackheath township -- my bad! However, this contributes to its quiet and seclusion. Our hostess was extremely helpful in driving us around, and family and friends picked us up, so in practice we managed without a car very well. (There is also a local taxi and an Uber-type service.)

Bed was super comfortable, fire stoked daily, breakfast items plentiful and lovely gardens. Host very pleasant

This very cosy cottage set in a beautifully lush and quiet garden is perfect for a relaxing stay. The hosts are amazingly generous and have thought of everything to make this a truly memorable experience for guests.
We have never before seen such generous breakfast provisions, or observed such meticulous attention to detail, for such a reasonable price
In the Chauffeur’s Cottage the shower over a high sided bath could be a drawback for the less able- bodied. Apart from that this place and it’s hosts are without fault

perfect place for a quite getaway for two

Location is great for enjoying the hiking. Breakfast fixings and bread amazing, hospitality wonderful
Bed was a little soft for my liking, I an used to rock hard bed at home

What a perfect place for a romantic weekend getaway for our Anniversary!
A warm welcome, a bottle of champagne and chocolates left by See and George made us feel special!
The breakfast basket and cleanliness was outstanding.
The weather was rainy and cold but the fireplace and comfy Maid's Cabin made it memorable!
We loved everything about it!

See provided a bountiful supply of fresh items every day (home-baked bread, eggs, tomatoes, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, yoghurt, butter, milk etc). The daily housekeeping was excellent, and the overall cleanliness was to a polished standard so that we felt very comfortable to relax in the cosy Loft. The garden and surrounds are so peaceful. Our hosts Seenuan and George made us feel very welcome and we loved reading about the history of this grand mountain estate.
The location is a little bit further from town centre than we normally stay, but it is no problem if you have a car.

Wonderful quiet hideaway with open fire, excellent breakfast ingredients and cooking facilities. Generous bathroom. See is an excellent hostess - nothing was too much trouble. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Nothing to improve.

Clean, Beautiful and quaint cottage and was welcomed very warmly by the owners.

Everything - See was super accommodating & friendly and happily arranged a late check in and late check out. We really enjoyed all the options for breakfast, the fireplace inside the bathroom, the smart TV and the spa bath. Everything was super tidy, comfortable and clean.

didn't like cooking my own breakfast

Always a favourite. Cozy, comfortable and has everything you want and need to relax. See is such a warm host and goes out of her way to make her guests feel at home. The breakfast and spa (and bath robes) are definitely a highlight! Close to the main town and walks/hikes/climbs.
4.8
See was most welcoming, and went out of her way to ensure my comfort. I appreciated all the extra touches, such as a box of chocolates on arrival, fresh flowers, etc. The breakfast provisions were excellent, and were topped up every day. The place was spotless, and was cleaned every day.
There is nothing that I did not like.
4.8
Attention to detail, individualised notes, replenishment of breakfast over and above expectations.
Nil issues. If you have mobility issues one of the other studios may be a better option.
4.8
The attentiveness and generosity of the host. Who allowed us to check out later and was kind in providing us extra food
nothing

Perfect set up, provided with everything you could need and more. Very welcoming, warm and generous hosts.

The warm welcome from See including the emails prior to arrival to ensure a very personal touch on arrival. I stayed in the 'Loft' it was super comfortable and relaxing. Most attractions were in walking distance or a very short drive.

See and George have thought of all the details for an enjoyable stay. Our cabin had everything we needed. We loved the addition of breakfast supplies, fruit and the lovely welcome notes. Will definitely stay here again!
