The Pura Vida is a luxurious 4 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom waterfront lake house on the PUBLIC side of Lake Anna featuring a 15 x 28 foot waterfront mini golf course.
The house and décor embody the meaning of the term ”Pura Vida.” It is a phrase used in the Costa Rican culture which literally means “Pure Life,” but is commonly used to mean 'full of life' or 'this is living!' The beauty and serenity of the house and Lake Anna is truly “Pura Vida” living.
This lake home boasts breathtaking views of the lake from several rooms with over-sized Anderson glass windows and sliders throughout the house, including a stunning wall of windows expanding up 20 feet in the main level great room.
This two level 3200 square foot home has two master bedrooms both with lake views, king beds and private master spa baths with custom tile work and rain shower heads, one family bedroom with one queen bed, a twin trundle bed and a private bathroom, and a 4th bedroom with a queen bed. The sofa in the basement recreational room also has a queen-sized pull-out bed. High quality towels and bed linens are also provided. Similar to luxury hotels, we use high quality duvet covers with hypoallergenic comforter inserts, vs. bedspreads. The duvet covers will be washed between each guest's stay. In addition, our indoor sofas and chairs are all real leather surfaces. There is no soft fabric furniture.
Enjoy the gourmet kitchen which is open to the dining room and living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with stainless steel appliances and utensils. The dining room table has 2 leaves and can accommodate up to 10 people comfortably with 2 additional people a few feet away at the kitchen island. The screen porch table can accommodate 6-8 people. There are 2 outdoor patio tables on the deck and patio that can accommodate 4-5 people at each table.
The outdoor living at the Pura Vida is just as spectacular as the indoor living. Enjoy dining and hanging outdoors at night or snoozing during the day in the large screened-in porch with dining area and huge sofa sectional. The screen porch is located via sliding glass door off the kitchen. Dine, grill and enjoy sunbathing on an expansive 60-foot deck which is the entire back side of the house. It wouldn't be “Pura Vida” living without hammocks, swing, lounge chairs, and more.
This house is designed for entertaining! Bring your family and friends down for a long weekend to enjoy the game or a holiday. The house has 2 large 55-60 inch Smart flatscreen TVs, 1 40 inch flatscreen HD TV, A state of the art- built-in surround sound systems on the lower level, basement recreation room, deck, ping pong table room and even the basement bathroom, so you don't miss a moment of the big game. We also upgraded to Xfinity cable TV & Internet, which is a rare find on the lake. Most houses offer satellite or DSL, which have much slower Internet speeds. Hence, streaming movies and working from the Lakehouse is easily done.
For rainy days, the house is also stocked with an Xbox 360 and games, DVD player, Satellite TV, High Speed Internet/Wi-fi, movies, books, board games and more.
The Pura Vida is located in one of the most exclusive communities on the lake called, Wyndemere. Guests of the Pura Vida can enjoy all the community amenities in Wyndemere including 2 parks with gazebos and picnic areas, community basketball, volleyball and tennis court, and more. Bring your bikes, scooters and/or jogging and walking shoes to explore the community!
The Pura Vida is located on a quiet, calm cove, a no wake zone, on the Public side of the lake. The cove is very safe for swimming, paddle boating, paddle boarding, fishing, kayaking, and more. Unlike other houses located on the main part of the lake, which can be very loud with choppy waters, the Pura Vida’s quiet cove mutes' loud weekend and, even, early morning noises from boats and jet skis. The Anderson windows and upgraded soundproof insulation silence the noise from the inside. Enjoy 'gas' heat/HVAC and fireplace on a cozy winter weekend retreat.
Explore the creek on the shoreline behind the house with fish, turtles, and salamanders and, perhaps, spot the local Beaver.
The location is central and only minutes away, both driving and boating, to many areas on the lake including the Lake Anna State Park, the Boardwalk with restaurants, Food Lion shopping center, Lake Anna Winery, and much more.

We brought our family of teens and our elderly parents for the week. The house was amazing for all! The easy slope down to the water with paved paths made it easier for our older parents to navigate. Our teens loved all the amenities- especially being right on the water for a float or fishing session! Highly recommend!!!

We enjoyed the Pura Vida lake house! There was plenty to do for everyone ~ great views from the decks, golf, paddle boat, kayaks, fire pit s'mores, ping pong, foosball! We had a great family vacation in your beautiful lake home and plan to come back!

The location and property were great and provided a peaceful getaway for the whole family. The owners were super responsive and accommodating and the home provided everything we needed.

Our stay was okay, the yard was full of leaves that hindered playing mini golf, owner said leaf blowers were coming but cancelled due to an injury which was understandable. The neighbors leaf blowers company came and all their leaves blew into our area and was there from 9 am- 5pm which we could not enjoy outside the whole day with all the debri going in our faces. Our biggest pet peeve was the kitchen pots, pans, utensils, baking sheets, cutting boards, knives (rusted) etc all needed to be replaced in a bad way. We didn’t understand why they said the indoor fireplace could not be used. It would have been nice to cozy up to it during our stay in the Fall weather.
The 1st bedroom bathroom sink was clogged up, the master bedroom’s mattress was lumpy, some of the pillowcases and sheets had stains on them like swirls.
Not enough dish soap given, had to go buy more.
Just an average place to stay with things needing replacement…

We truly enjoyed our stay at Pura Vida. The house was amazing and looked just as pictured on the site. Everything that we could have asked for was there. The property has so many activities that we barely needed to leave the house. The area is beautiful and it was nice being right on the lake without a lot of steps to get to the water. Communication with the owner and proerty manager was timely and they were both very helpful. We will definitely recommend and look to book again.

We absolutely love this home. We have been coming for many years and each year is wonderful! The location on the lake is perfect. Our family enjoys cooking in the kitchen and having family meals at the large dining room table playing board games. The beds are comfortable and the sofa and chairs are great for relaxing to read a book or watch TV. Highly recommend staying here and looking forward to returning next year!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Pura Vida. It is beautifully appointed and very well equipped. The home is provides multiple areas in which to relax.
We all enjoyed the water toys as well as the fire pit.
The owners are easy to contact and respond quickly if there is a need.

Everything about our week at Pura Vida was awesome!! The house is perfect, great location on the lake, it had everything you would need! It was beautiful inside and out! The owners and property manager are so kind, and you can tell they take pride in the property. a big bonus for us being able to bring our boat and docking it under roof. We were on the water all week either on the boat or floating at the dock. The fishing is awesome! boating to restaurants was fun so was finding the sandbar and secret coves. We defiantly will be back we fell in love with the house and the lake!

Having rented VRBO properties all over the world, I would rate Pura Vida among the best. It definitely was one of the cleanest, well-appointed homes in which we have stayed. Three generations of our family thoroughly enjoyed themselves, with both indoor and outdoor activities for all.

My family and I cannot get enough of Pura Vida. As soon as we walked in the door, it felt like home. The neighborhood was quiet, the property was clean and well maintained ..and the view... absolutely breathtaking. It had everything we needed and more. There was so much to do we felt we did not have enough time to experience it all and we hope to visit again.

We really enjoyed our stay, the property was great. Our son requested a stay at the lake for his birthday with a few friends, they enjoyed swimming, fishing, and kayaking right from the property. The property is really relaxing, especially the screened in porch. Check-in was easy and the house had plenty of supplies to get the stay started. I would recommend this rental to anyone.

This is the ideal home for our family with 3 generations. We appreciate the covered boat slip, quiet cove, and location on the lake. Our family has been coming here for many years and our 3 year old grandson was excited to ride on the tube this year! We are already looking forward to next year!

The house is fabulous. Lovely interior, very spacious, well equipped, beautiful views and beautiful outdoor areas…we were two couples and a fifth adult…ample privacy for all. Unfortunately the lake had a problem with hazardous algae bloom (HAB) which can cause skin irritation and gastrointestinal issues…we researched and according to the government website, the advisory was not to swim due to the elevated levels of bacteria and algae bloom. This is a wonderful five star property but if you plan to swim or boat in late summer, it’s advisable to check this out in advance.

Highly recommend. Everything about Jocelyn’s house is amazing. It is beautiful, clean, and spacious. The entire process was easy and she was very communicative. We had 6 adults and 4 infants and did not feel crowded at all. We would absolutely return to this beautiful spot on Lake Anna!

This home is absolutely stunning!!
So much room to spread out inside and out. So nice to be right on the lake, no crazy hills to go up or down. The home is clean and very well stocked (ice is the only thing we needed more of) My family hung outside all day playing putt putt, fishing, swimming, kayaking.. All from the backyard. We also enjoyed chilling with a drink in one of the many outdoor spaces that has a beautiful view and plenty of seating. Inside we enjoyed family board games together, ping pong, and fusball (downstairs). My favorite space was the living room with the wall of windows facing the lake.... So beautiful. So happy that we chose to stay at Pura Vida.

My family stayed at this home for a vacation and a family celebration. We had an excellent time. The home was beautiful, clean, spacious and very comfortable. We enjoyed the water view and water access. Our family rented a boat and we were welcome to use their boat slip. It was convenient to the public side of the lake and made it easy to hop for a boat ride to enjoy the water. Kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. Property manager was very accessible for questions. Great communications. Highly recommend. We hope to be able to return soon!!!

Pura Vida was the perfect choice for our multi-generation vacation. The house is spacious and beautiful, with plenty of spots for everyone to settle in and relax. The kitchen was well-appointed for a rental, and the dining table comfortably accommodated our party of 10. Be aware that other than salt and pepper, there are no spices/seasonings at the house. (This is not a complaint, just sharing as an FYI). The bedrooms were comfortable. It’s a lake house, so some bugs are to be expected, but there were a lot in the lower level master. The ping pong table and screened in porch got tons of use, and the kids loved the selection of books.
The outdoor space was wonderful and had nearly everything we could have hoped for. The cove had plenty of wildlife - herons, geese, ducks, turtles, and great fishing. The water off the property is shallow enough for kids to play comfortably all day (my 5 and 7 year old could easily stand) The paddle board was a hit with everyone. We found that one of the kayaks had a tendency to take on some water, but not so much that it was unusable. The kids loved the paddle boat. The area was secluded and quiet, making for a very relaxing week. We had an amazing time at Pura Vida!

This was a great family vacation with our adult children and grandparents. The house was clean and there are lots of things to do at the house including fishing on the pier and ping pong. We also rented a boat and docked it at the house. Overall a great experience and we would definitely come again!

This was a great COVID-friendly week away from the city. The house was clean - all bedding was fresh (including duvets that are all washed regularly) and the kitchen was fully stocked. We enjoyed all of the amenities in the house - the kids loved the ping pong table and the foosball. We also took advantage of the basketball hoop and putting green. It was too cold to go out on the water, but we will definitely consider coming back. The WiFi worked well with lots of devices connected (kids doing school and both parents working remotely).
