Lovely relaxed atmosphere, in great surroundings with excellent staff and facilities.

We chose this hotel, because we were going to a funeral at the Crematorium which is located directly over the road from the Golf club entrance. You don't need to be a member of this golf club and don't even need to be interested in golf to use The Residence Hotel which I found to be of an excellent standard. Loved our room, quite spacious, especially the bathroom which was full of up to date appliances, the shower and toilet, both very modern. Both the bathroom and the bedroom were tastefully decorated. the bedroom had TV, Hair dryer and a tray with kettle, coffee, tea and biscuits. We also had a bottle of water each, which were refurbed the next day. Breakfast was in the club house restaurant, again lovely layout looking across the golf courses and the lake with fountain. Good choice of food for breakfast, including Cereals, Cooked breakfast, fruit, buns, croissants and toast. Coffee was delicious and tea and juices also available. Breakfast was self serve. There is Ample car parking on site. All the staff were very friendly and relaxed. The bar was well stocked with good draught beers and lager. We had 2 evening meals, both very good. You didn't have to sit in the restaurant, we choose to eat in the bar area. Staff very friendly and helpful. The gardens around the hotel and club house were excellent well looked after with lots of seating areas outside. The visiting golfers and club members were all very friendly as well. I did notice some were wearing jeans and plenty of shorts around even on an evening, making it a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Be aware you book in at the clubhouse reception, not in the Residence Hotel area. We went straight to the Hotel area, to find no reception there. The club house is within easy flat walking distance and this is were you also eat. The hotel room was very quiet and we slept well, however quite noisy on a morning, as people tended to get up early and slammed doors. We could have done with some form of hand soap on the sink. I had to open a shower/bath wash to clean my hands. I also left my shower cap at home by accident and there wasn't one in the bathroom. I find most hotels have these 2 items.

Exceptional

The views overlooked the golf course, which at sunset were amazing, the hotel had a nice atmosphere in general. Decor was modern and unique and the hotel was clean. Would revisit.

Minor snagging, handle on main entrance door needs attention. Staff needed to be a bit quicker at breakfast, there was not enough food out and it took time to arrive. However the overall stay was good.

Surprised and disappointed😒

The room was nice and spacious, some lovely mod cons, good shower, comfortable bed, free WiFi and the bottled water was very welcomed.

It felt like the room had not been used for a while (could be wrong) but there was alot of dust on the headboard, chair( both of which are fabric) The glasses were not particularly clean, lots of dirty marks on the walls and skirting, accumulated dust around the edges of the room and ensuite and the shower tray was showing signs of mould. The small mirror on the dressing table was dirty and was literally falling apart. Normally with so many 'minor?' issues I would have reported on arrival but unfortunately because of a prior engagement I did not have the time. I did not get the impression this was the normal level of cleanliness for this Hotel and would give the benefit of the doubt and return.

Pleasant stay in a delightful location.

Attended a wedding which was organized really well, staff attentive and friendly.

Twin room was extremely small, couldnt open a window which meant that I didnt sleep well.

Very comfortable, stylish stay in a modern room

The room was excellent and exceeded expectations, the pictures don't do the executive suites justice! Very modern bathroom, including a toilet with a digital flush! All staff were friendly and very accommodating. The hallway areas could maybe do with a carpet wash- but that's literally a very small improvement suggestion. The breakfast in the morning was delicious, although a little cold by the time you sat down to eat, but a very clean and welcoming dining area. I'd recommend staying at the hotel to anyone who hasn't been.

As above, the carpets in the hallway could do with a wash and make the breakfasts hot! There was a little drama that happened in the room next to me, I tried to contact the out of hours support team but it went straight to the EE voicemail and normal reception wasn't open, that being said they attended around 6.30 and asked the culprits to leave, so the issue was sorted.

Great stay would definitely book the Tiffany Suite again.

Fabulous staff, very attentive and helpful. Room is a great size, lovely bathroom and tub. Felt this was very good value for money.

Room was not as clean as I’d have liked but it wasn’t dirty. Perhaps it hadn’t been used for a few days. This didn’t spoil our stay though. Heating operation instructions were missing and no one knew how to turn it up. It wasn’t freezing though, it was comfortable, just not as hot as I like it.

lovely setting, lovely rooms, nice breakfast

Heating was not working, minus figures outside, room was cold, we were given a small electric heater but no effort was made to fix the heating.

Superb

The room was very comfortable, we were attending a wedding and everything went really well. The manager on the bar was incredibly obliging nothing was too much trouble for him. Breakfast was very good and all the food was excellent at both Breakfast and the wedding hot buffet too. Would recommend for others to stay.

dirty carpets everywhere, sticky tables in restaurant, smell of old oil, very dirty floors everywhere. dirty, mouldy shower .. Not testy food. Taxis didn’t want to come in there- difficult to get out.

Very disappointing when a muso much more could be offered

It is an excellent location and the hotel and immediate surrounds are very good.

The visit was spoiled by the “couldn’t care less” attitude of the staff. Our television did not work so after several attempts to fix it we were told to watch the lead up,to,the Queen’s funeral on our iPad. At breakfast time there were no mugs available until we asked and then only one was brought the first time. You should get a proper training programmes in place and if staff don’t want to work on hospitality they should find other jobs. This site has so much potential that is not being realised.
