Good sized room, comfy bed, lovely en-suite. Incredible food! Friendly professional staff. Try the Chefs 5 course meal.

Our return visit to this charming establishment did not disappoint. Warm welcome back from Victoria, excellent breakfast and supper from the very talented Al. Delightful garden area, just the ticket on a warm summer evening. There is so much to love about the Barrington Boar, a real gem but try and keep it a secret!
Nothing but remember to book your evening meal early or you could miss out on a real treat

The rooms were very clean, with suoer comfortable beds and excellent showers. The staff were really friendly and even helped us out when our car battery died. Highly recommend the Boar. Gorgeous garden for guests to use.

Hotel located in an exceptionally pretty village. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with great attention to detail. The bed was very comfortable. It was quiet and we slept well.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating and responsive. Dinner on Friday night was beautifully cooked, presented and served, and they did separate menus specifically for those with food allergies and even just food preferences, just one example of attention to detail. Breakfast on both days was also excellent.

The staff were friendly, very efficient and helpful. We broke down in our car and they were very supportive. Breakfasts were fabulous and we didn't need lunch! Dinner was also excellent with very fresh and tasty food. All in all a very enjoyable stay. Definitely go back.
Everything was great. Absolutely nothing to fault in any way.

From check-in to check-out a fabulous experience. Cleanliness, hospitality and quality of food were amazing. Little extras were provided both in the room and during dinner all adding to the ambience. We were fortunate to be travelling with our Springer who loved the garden and the attention of the team. Location is perfect for a break from the hustle of home life. Plenty of ideas given by Vicky as to where to visit if ever at a loose end. Just book a room, soak up the ambience and come away feeling totally replenished and refreshed..... just don't step straight on the bathroom scales!
Nothing to dislike.

traditional pub in the centre of a lovely Somerset village that has been well modernised. the staff were very friendly and helpful, suggesting gardens to visit while we were in the area. the food is exceptional - restaurant food rather than pub grub. the two dinners and breakfasts we had were memorable. the pub gardens were lovely to sit out in.
no downsides

tremendous care has been taken to the furnishings of the property, and every detail is perfect. the landlord and landlady share duties.. He is chef, and she is front of house. The Barrington Boar is very well run and guests are made very comfortable. Chef creates the most beautiful dishes!

Supper the first night was reasonable.
The room was cramped. There was a noisy extractor fan going constantly through the day over the garden, there was another extractor fan going constantly day and night by the bedroom windows. We waited in vain over 25 minutes on our second night for anyone to come to our table with a menu or to see if we would like a drink we left, the owner subsequently apologised and gave us a complimentary supper, but I don't go out to get a free meal I go out to have a nice time and be looked after. I have paid the same money elsewhere and received much better facilities.

Stylishly decorated, comfortable rooms set in the pretty garden of the pub right in the centre of Barrington. Beautiful village, friendly hosts and very good cooked breakfast. Unfortunately we weren’t able to enjoy the food at the restaurant as we were attending a wedding but it smelt delicious and we’d love to go back to try it! Barrington Court, National trust property in the village, well worth a visit, beautiful gardens and artisan shops lovely too.

Breakfast was great, quiet location and friendly staff. The food on the meal menu was excellent but could have had a few traditional ones added in.
Can’t think of anything really, all was good.

A gem! We loved our stay here. So much thought has gone into the pub & rooms. Beautiful garden too. The food was top notch. Breakfast - a wide variety from healthy to cooked breakfast - all delicious. We booked a table for dinner on one night too which I would also recommend. It’s justifiably busy & so booking a table in advance is recommended.
Victoria is the perfect host - friendly and welcoming.
I would happily return.
