Lovely balcony and spaces to relax.
Comfy beds and cool room.
Easy to find and park.
Breakfast was very good.
Staff were friendly.
Felt like it needed to be redecorated or deep cleaned. It could be amazing but just needs a freshen up for the price.
Dinner was nice but very expensive we felt for 40euros.

The view and the architecture and the bed warmers the staff was nice too.
We stayed in the room that is the closest to the front gate. And the neighbors dog was very loud. That’s really the only down side. We will definitely spend more next time and get the room upstairs with the view.

The view from the bedroom was excellent looking out over the south Atlantic from my bed
There were not many restuarants available as it was out of season

I had a wonderful stay at El Manzar! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. The beautiful view from the place was absolutely breathtaking and added to the overall charm of the experience. The attention to detail in the decorations really enhanced the ambiance, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

Nothing
The rooms did not look like what was show on the website (bait and switch);rooms were storage rooms remodeled and not part of the main house with no view. There were Locks to secure the room and no door knobs. The attendant did not seem to be train for the hotel industry. She did not offer to resolve the issue and did not seem to speak English nor French. Bathrooms were not to an acceptable standard for a hotel. This property should not be advertised on any reputable website.

The location was good + the view.
The bad wasn’t comfortable,
Not too much aeration in the room,
Very low water in the shower,
The breakfast is not enough,
The walk in the terrace is not well painted.

It was quite difficult to find and speaking French in this area of Morocco is very valuable

The al Manzar is a Bauhaus style villa turned into a bed and breakfast. The views from the deluxe suite were breathtaking and waking up to that view was worth the money. The breakfast was nice and the staff (Noura) friendly and helpful. I suppose it really matters what room you choose, because the view seems to be the main thing for this hotel and only the deluxe suite has a good view and a private balcony. However, the other rooms have access to the two terraces with the same view.
The equipment is relatively spartan (it really is a kind of bauhaus simplicity). We liked it that way, but people may expect something different based on the price and pictures. The room could also benefit from some a bit of renovation (the black and white style profits from being really black and white rather than shades of gray).

Everything was great here, hospitality, the views, noise level, quiet neighborhood, close to important stuff. You just walk down the path by the gate to the beach, and then catch a boat-taxi to the other side (should cost 50 dirham there and back).
There are also little restaurants on the beach with fresh fish and shrimp, but note that sometimes it is very windy and can get sandy. In April, the water was a tad cold so we didn't swim, but lots of local tourists did swim. El Manzar is similar to the luxury hotels in the area in terms of views, etc, but the price is much more reasonable. The breakfast was super good.
Noura and Amal are the sweetest people and we really enjoyed getting to know them. They are both cat lovers and seem to care for the animals that are around. We made a small donation for animal care.
Next to El Manzar is a big villa-rental with peacocks. It's funny to hear them screaming (doesn't bother us in terms of sleeping, i think they sleep at night too, just funny during the day). And of course, the stork mosque is in view as well. A bird lovers paradise.
I recommend checking out the roof terrace. Also, if you don't book the ocean front view (we didn't), you'll probably be a bit jealous. There is the big living room downstairs though, so you still get a nice view to relax in. It was a bit foggy a few days, which blocked the beach view but was actually super cool to see as well.
The only thing we found odd was the pricing of the dinner, which was super delicious, but more expensive than any of the restaurants in town. El Manzar seems to be owned by a chain of Moroccan Riads, so I would suggest to them maybe lower the menu price.

The views of the ocean were absolutely amazing. The property is very beautiful with a lot of attention to aesthetics. There are many pretty nooks and balconies to hang out in. The bed and linens were comfy. The only issue was that the bathroom smelled a little and the toilet got clogged.

Wonderful views. Helpful staff who sorted out a boat ride for us and a taxi from El Jadida 100 Euros cheaper than was quoted by other taxi companies.. Definitely worth a day visit.
Should have had more toilet paper. Made us a lovely dinner though did end up getting ill from it.

Stunning views... from all the terraces with lots if seating, this is the highlight of the property and it is a pleasure sitting looking across the lagoon. It is well positioned, just over five minutes walk from the centre, restuarants and supermarket. (15 minutes walk from the CTM bus stop). No ventilation in the bathroom so it was damp and the shower was useless, just a trickle.....the lounge area has a contemporary feel but could do with a refurb. There was an oil heater in our room and an electric blanket which is needed early Feb.
Breakfast was okay but no omelette or fruit, could be better for the price. The two staff were pleasant enough but very little communication even in French, no welcome info or explanations.
In summary, looks better in the photo's than it actually is...
Damp bathroom due to no ventilation, useless shower and very average breakfast.

Very nice ambience with a more than perfect ocean view on the very spacious terrace. Lovely decorated rooms with enough space. The hosts are more than courteous and serve you a nice breakfast with a view. Located with walking distance about 5min to the center of Oualidia.
Location absolutely to recommend.

Amazing view and stylish decor, the staff were very nice.
The shower gave just a dribble of water which stopped if someone turned another tap on.

The view is absolutely fantastic. The balcony is large and fully equipped,, although it was not entirely clear to me whether other guests can also use it. Then that will be at the expense of your privacy
We saw the room before booking it and at first we were very excited. Part of the negative experience is therefore entirely our fault. I did not immediately notice that there was no air conditioning. The shower didn't get warm even after a long wait. Our room had no wifi and was not 100% clean.

A detached room in a quiet courtyard. Room small but comfortable. Beautiful view across the lagoon & ocean from the back of the house.
Breakfast typically Moroccan. For the price, it would be good to have fruit & yoghurt, which international tourists like us expect.

Stayed here 4 nights. Loved the location, stunning views straight over the water from terrace. 5 minute walk to local supermarket.
We stayed in the Salon Suite. Would of preferred the Laguna Suite…. but it was already booked. If you are staying here DEFINITELY book the Laguna Suite with its private sea view terrace.
The Salon Suite was still good. It looked over the communal salon/breakfast space shared by all the guests, downstairs terrace and views over the sea. However, if there were any other guests in communal salon/breakfast area they could see right into our room. There was a curtain to keep it private…. but it then meant we had no window at all. However, Salon area was generally very quiet.
The only fault with the room was that the shower was dreadful. A trickle of water if you were lucky. And not hot. There was also no window or ventilation in the bathroom which meant there was a constant damp smell. Not good.
Nora, who runs the place, was lovely and could not of been nicer, serving a beautiful breakfast every morning, and arranging taxi for us
Bathroom. Shower was rubbish, and no ventilation in bathroom. Damp smell.
Also other guests could see into our suite unless we kept curtains closed…. which then meant we had no window view.

Not clean at all. Staff not talkative. Very small rooms. Weird and noisy neighborhood. Pictures on booking are not similar to reality.

Well, we booked the nice room that is shown on all the pics - the Junior Suite with a private balcony. We stayed in Morocco for over two weeks, this was the most expensive hotel we booked. It was the one that disappointed. We got a "Junior Suite" with three beds all right, just not the one as shown in the pics. No view, one window that goes out onto the passage to the other room (to the nice one - so we had the privilege to watch people walk to- and from the room we were looking forward to for over 6 months). Had we known this, we would have booked the way cheaper garden-room - at least the windows didn't go out onto e passage there! Because of this, we had very little daylight in the room - not a huge problem, happens in other places too in Morocco (due to the heat, having small/covered windows isn't the worst) but because it went out to the passage, there was almost no way to get a bit of fresh air into the room. Also, it was not clean - we found cigarette buts in the toilet, hair on the sheets.... To us, the comfort level was more like in a somewhat upscale backpacker, not what it suggested on the website at all.
The rooftop balcony and the living room showed a truly amazing view over the lagoon and it was a very short walk down to the boats to get across the channel, so at least that was great.
The breakfeast was decent and tasty overall, only the butter had turned sour but otherwise absolutely ok.
We simply did not get the room that was promised to us according to the pics. Nowhere did we see it mentioned that there is a second Junior Suite with no view from the room at all, we were accordingly disappointed. Had we known, we would have booked a cheaper room or an altogether hotel cause it was simply not worth the money, also compared to other hotels we stayed in in Morocco.
