We liked how homey this place felt. From the seats in the hallways to the hangout areas. The decor is superb! The sunlight lighting up the whole room was amazing.
It would have been great if breakfast was included. They charge a fee to have breakfast included.

Es war sehr altmodisch

Stile architettonico. Posizione. Pulizia. Cortesia.

We liked everything here!
It’s a beautiful building and also the rooms were really nice (and clean).
The environment and the views were awesome (beautiful church!).
Our special compliments to the staff too! The woman at the reception was very nice and friendly and the chef is very talented! We felt very welcome and at ease!

I liked Hótel Skálholt, good reception, simple but pleasant facilities.
Beautiful scenery in the location of the hotel.
Near the extinct Vulcan Kerid, Geyser, Gullfoss, and Secret Lagoon.
Nothing unpleasant.

the setting … so cute
the people
it’s what I expected but rooms are small and accomodation is like a 5 star hostel but just what I liked about it … came from a 5 star
hotel the day before to this and loved it just as much ! so friendly and welcoming and nice to meet other travellers . A
perfect stop when doing the golden circle .

Quiet with nice views

Shower was just separated by curtain and not too comfortable

Location was perfect for our trip through the Golden Circle. Quiet and scenic, this property is situated on very beautiful grounds and surrounding panoramic views.
Fixed menu dinner service wasn't clear on website - arrived with dinner reservation based off of assumption that the cafe menu was available. When notified of fixed menu and pricing for the dinner service we had to cancel and then scramble to find alternate dinner plans off property. Be clear as to your expectations when booking dinner and be sure to ask for prices beforehand as it is pricey for a menu with no options.

Our experience was very pleasant, although room was small was very well layout with a chair and lamp. We would definitely select this hotel again if traveling to region. Breakfast was also very nice with many choices.
I would love to have softer pillows, nothing else that I can think of. We were very pleased with our experience and like the option to make room darker even though it was still daylight outside. Thanks

Room was clean, bed comfortable. Location is a little further out from the golden circle, but as a result we didn't have noise from other hotel guests overnight. They did have restaurant onsite which we ate at for dinner and it was delicious. Bathroom floor was heated.
Parking is further down from hotel rooms, so it is a bit of walk to haul your suitcase up. Though they did have a restaurant on site, the menu was limited to a few options, which we did not know till we had already sat down to eat, and it was very expensive compared to other places we ate in Iceland. The blinds in the room were not black out, so we had a bit of a difficult time sleeping, even with our sleep masks on. Toilet in the room also was running all night, we had to close the bathroom door to keep out the noise.

quiet area, relaxing area.
food was too bad

What a great little place to stay after driving the Golden Circle! Comfy beds, great staff, good breakfast.
Nothing, this hotel was lovely!

This was a super cool location.
It is quite remote which is even more charming, all you can see out front is fields for miles. We had a view of the church that just added to it all!
The manager/owner of the hotel was wonderful, very helpful, personable and friendly.

Cute hotel, very pretty location, lovely staff.
Bathroom could probably use a redo

Amazing and very helpful staff, beautiful view from windows, tasty local breakfasts and silent, this was exactly what we were looking for.

Lovely hotel with a great view over fields and lake and archeological site. Birds in the morning and evening and quiet and piecefull allonestanding location. Big livingroom and a wintergarden for relaxing or the evening. Breakfast was excellent with a homemade kambuchashot as a starter. The hosts are very friendly and kind with tipps for the next tour.
Wish you all the best for your plans.

Location. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Small bathroom, when you shower everything gets wet.

We had an amazing stop here on our first night in Iceland. The hosts were extremely friendly and gave some great advice. Despite staying in the February winter and the area being particularly quiet , they put on a lovely breakfast buffet and offered us our first try of Kombucha, which was much tastier than I imagined.
The hotel was nicely equipped and had some lovely views of the cathedral and surroundings. A truly beautiful and peaceful location.
I would highly recommend staying here.
