Great location , clean room, friendly staff.
Our room wasn’t ready until about 3:45, but they were short staffed and for the price this was ok. Also probably because of Brexit it’s now harder to get staff.

Location and staff were great, onsite restaurant was also good.
It’s very very dated and in need of refurbishment, I am led to believe it used to be a care home and it was the first thing I guessed when walking in, very care home like even down to the door handles etc investment is needed to bring it up to date.

Great hotel .brilliant for the beach and chilling out.the staff were brilliant especially the young guys waiting and working the bar.also dog friendly. Will definitely be back
It could do with the decor being updated in the room we had but it didn't spoil the great stay we had

Very friendly girls at reception though a little inexperienced
Pleasant welcome.
Was told after making payment there would be no food available.
Asked if they could make up something simple for me like sandwich etc. after long travel. Was told there would be no chance of anything , had to drive another 30 mins round trip to get something.
On return to bar area the staff were taking out burgers , chips etc etc from kitchen.
Clearly they could have managed some sort of food for me.
Oh well. Some folk.

We received a warm welcome on arrival. Had lovely food and drinks in the bar. Had a beautifully decorated, clean, spacious room in the main house. The beach is just beautiful and only a stroll down the end of the garden past the shop. We ate breakfast which frankly was a bargain for what we ate. Lady at breakfast was welcoming, friendly and attentive. The beach was just as beautiful in the day, spotless and loads of space for peace and privacy. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Nothing!!

Only that the coffee machine wasn’t working!

I didn’t expect this hotel such a lovely place for one night short stay before we heading towards Edinburgh (coming from the Loch Ness). It was surrounded in natural but the great Lunan bay beach was just around the corner. The room was spacious and facilities worked well.
The photos posted here didn’t show its full charm. I highly recommend it if you are doing a road trip and take it as a stopover between the Loch Ness and the Arbroath cliffs.
Nothing really

the locations and the garden , the family suit is great with kids , being 200 yard from the stunning lunan bay beach and the price
I would recommand a bit more storage and a lamp is wobbly and need fixing.
that staff at restaurant and bar where nice and kind but a wee bit young and would need a professional supervisor to properly train them in service management.

The location
We were placed in a room that felt like the last in the hotel. We first stayed in the hotel in 2019 when it was just the main house and bar. It’s lost it’s soul.
If I wanted to eat breakfast in a Sports Hall I would have got a room in a Youth Hostel down the road.
1.0
The location of the beach.
This could be a beautiful hotel, however it is unloved, uncared for, filthy in the extreme, moth infested carpets in the bedroom and generally the feeling is that no one cares about anything, or anyone.
Walls filthy and hung with cobwebs, windowsills covered in thick grime, black mould and moss on the inside. The double doors leading to room 2 were sticky to touch...yeuch.
Unable to comment on the shower, too filthy to use. We didn't shower for 3 days :(
When ordering poached eggs on toast, we were told to make our own toast, the chef finally said he would do the toast so that both toast and eggs were hot, but we received greasy fried bread, not toast.
The bar. Covered in bugs and more moths, sitting to have a drink was a traumatic experience! The chairs at the tables have black, removable seat pads, but the tables had been wiped and the debris from the previous occupants swept onto the seats.
The bar staff argued with me about how I wanted my gin & tonic! Apparently when they are 'busy' (there were 5 people in the bar at the time, it probably seats 100?) They make the drinks quickly and don't give the tonic in a bottle for you to add what YOU want, but simply tip the lot in. I was told that ' I had got what I asked for'!
When I asked for lemon, the young woman brought a large container, and picked a lemon slice out with her fingers and dropped it in my glass!
When ordering a bottled drink, no glass is offered!
The belligerent barman who argued with someone 3 times his age (and experience) about how I wanted my drink, and appeared completely ignorant of the fact that even the most basic of training would have taught him that whatever he believed, you do NOT argue with a customer, particularly in front of other customers.
Wi-Fi is offered however it is flaky at best - we had no signal/coverage at all after leaving the bar area, where we were lucky to get 1 bar.
