Personal amable, aseo diario y excelente desayuno

Yakana Hotel was clean and comfortable. We loved our stay here, the staff was very friendly and free breakfast was offered every morning! We will definitely be staying here again.
Nothing, this hotel was wonderful!

I stayed at Yakana for one night. I was picked up at 4 am to go to the geysers. The hotel had a shared kitchen, so I was able to prepare my own breakfast at that early time! The checkout was also modified so I could enjoy a really nice and hot shower before my departure. I will definitely come back!!

Clean and tidy, mostly
Owner threatened to call the police on us if we didn’t pay in cash when we said we wanted to pay card. No receptionist the entire stay. No communication about facilities (we found out there was breakfast the last day). No one spoke English, including the owner. The cleaner who gave us the key to our room on arrival couldn’t even read or write to be able to use goodl translation!

the rooms are confortable
they’re short on staff

Very bad experience.
From the beginning it is very difficult to communicate with the Hotel, the telephone numbers do not work, they do not answer messages.
Upon arrival at the Hotel, the reservation was not respected and we were assigned to another place due to a hotel failure.
I do not recommend staying at this place.

Cleanest hotel in San Pedro. Hard working staff. Relaxed attitude, able to access room before stated check in Time.
Very kind staff, nothing to much trouble,
Ceiling fan. Spotlessly clean hotel.
Wifi worked perfectly,
Nearly cheap
Local restaurants.
Close to bus
Station
Nothing

nice tucked away property in San Pedro. we met Natalie who was lovely and very accommodating.
rooms were quite small but what we expected for price - good value for money

The only positive side is that it is quite clean.
Where to start?
We arrived to Yakana around 7pm and were given a 12sqm room (there is no space at all for a suitcase, see the photo) instead of the 18sqm we booked. I tried to speak with the owner on the phone and he kept telling me I was wrong, and that I had not booked a deluxe superior room. I sent him the screenshots of the booking confirmation and he only kept saying I was wrong and his system was right. After like 6 times telling me I was wrong and I was very tense, he said if I had a problem I should contact booking and try to fix it myself. Wow, we have slept 200 nights in hotels this year and NEVER EVER faced any hotel manager like this. Hospitality manners inexistent.
At the end, we had to contact booking ourselves. Booking tried to reach the owner several times during the evening until he replied to them saying he does not speak English (however the welcome message when you book is in English). Booking had to find a Spanish speaker employee to deal with the issue. Thanks to booking he agreed to give us 10% of the money back. After that, I had to ask him twice to give us the money.
Carla is the Lady in charge of everything (cooking, reception, cleaning, …) at the beginning we thought she was quite rude, but honestly I just feel sorry for her. She works DAY AND NIGHT there, there is no daylight or windows where you can look outside in the whole property (nor in the rooms, neither in the kitchen) and she even lives in one of the small rooms.

I liked the staff and the breakfast options!
I didn't really liked the bed and the distance from the hotel to Caracol. But other than that it's all great!

Anna was an amazing host. She helped us a lot!!

Good location, walking distance to main street yet in a quiet area. You can park you car safe in front of the hotel. Very clean. The staff (actually 1 lady) was very attentive and took such good care of us, she was the best part of our stay.
The rooms are not noise-proof so unfortunately you will be woken up by other guests if they come in late or take a sunrise tour.

Friendly service, lovely decoration, I guess they are trying to make up for the other deficits.
The linens were lovely and the bed comfortable.
No windows, no natural light: window only to the corridor, which means no privacy if the blinds are open. There was a power outtage, which meant no hot water for a while, and then showering in the dark. The window to the corridor has flimsy locks, and you have to keep them open otherwise no fresh air. There is no sound isolation whatsoever: we didn't need to know when the neighbors spent time in the toilet, or hear every car and every dog outside.
There was no mention of the lack of windows in the description, which is unfair as if we had known we wouldn't have booked. We had to cancel as no window gives us a claustrophobic feeling. There was no understanding whatsoever from the hotel, that this lack of disclosure led to the cancelation. We had to pay for the three nights, even though we stayed only one. We believe the lack of correct information would lead to less bookings, which is why it's not quite honest. Please let others know about this, otherwise it's misleading.
No lounge where you can relax, kitchen is not specially comfortable to spend any time, and if there is no light, you don't want to be closed in the room. All in all a rather negative experience m
