What a memorable long weekend my friends and family had staying at this fabulous house with its wonderful amenities. We made delicious peach & burrata pizza in their wood fire pizza oven. When a rainy day canceled our outdoor plans we pivoted to charcuterie and wine in the dining room. We dined alfresco on the patio for our goodbye breakfast. This house is gracious and easily accommodated our group of 6 in comfort and style.

We had family and friends staying with us for our Son's Graduation. The house was perfect, close to Beacon, not far from Westpoint & accommodated everyone comfortably.
The outdoor and indoor dining areas were also perfect for our needs, giving us weather dependent flexibility to eat inside or outside. The barbeque, outdoor pizza oven & fire pit were all excellent & all used during the week. As were local restaurants when we didn't feel like cooking.
Highly recommended

Over July 4th, I stayed for 3 nights w/ my husband and 2 young kids.
It was better than pictured! Extremely clean and extremely quiet. Easy location - a 5 minute drive from the center of town and all activities in Beacon (kayaking, hiking, shopping, grabbing coffee, etc.)
The host was responsive. Interesting art everywhere.
The grounds are fun to stroll around. Highly, highly recommend!

We really enjoyed the farmhouse. Wish we had more time there to explore Beacon and its environs. It’s a cute town with lots to do inside and in the great outdoors.

Impeccably restored with artistic touches throughout, warm but uncluttered, clean, comfortable. Chef's kitchen, beautifully landscaped with ample space outside to spend time. Quiet and very private, but not even 5min from restaurants and culture of Beacon. The hosts were communicative and had great local recommendations. We are excited to come back!

Our party of 7 came from all over the US for a memorial service for a dear friend and we needed a nice place we could all be together. The listing actually doesn’t do this place justice. What a fantastic setting with tons of privacy and space to enjoy the beautiful views and…the artwork! The artwork inside and outside the house was such an unexpected treat! The beds were very comfortable and the home was fully appointed, leaving us wanting for nothing. We made full use of the outdoor pizza oven and enjoyed all cooking together in the beautiful kitchen. We could have asked for a better VRBO experience. Betsy and Ed were wonderful! Thank you for giving us such a positive experience at such a difficult time.

This house was perfect for our long weekend family getaway. Big rambling 4 bedroom farm house beautifully presented and fitted out with everything we could possibly need, plus some wonderful artwork. The place was extremely clean, and the sheets and towels top quality. Betsy was wonderfully easy to communicate with and everything went seamlessly. I recommend this place highly.

We had a long weekend stay here and everything was perfect. The house and grounds were so peaceful! Our first time to the Hudson Valley and came for a couple of Renegades games. House was beautifully restored and comfortable. Kitchen and baths had everything we needed.
We were able to enjoy the fire pit as well several nights and we were close to the stadium for the night games. Also enjoyed some hiking on Mt. Beacon and shopping on Main street. Ed and Betsy were great hosts, communicative and responsive. We would definitely visit again!

Stayed here with my family for my nephews West Point graduation. If you r looking to book a place for a West Point activity and think this is too far away, think again, this place is amazing and the drive actually goes really fast. The house, the beautiful grounds, the incredible sculptures by one of the owners, I literally cannot say enough about this place. I will definitely be back!

Everything about this house was a delight from the artwork surrounding the house to the expansive yard to the artwork inside the house to the orange French cook-top in the kitchen to the cozy living room to the unassuming but formal long table in the dining room to the loft bedroom with a slanted roof ceiling with a secret passageway to attached game room to the tetherball setup in the yard to the proximity to Beacon and its delights to the wonderful hosts who live up the road and ran (biked, actually) a baking dish down to us 5 minutes after we asked if the house had one. We really loved staying in this house.

OMG, what a house! What a property!! After hours of searching VRBO for our little family retreat to Beacon, we came across Betsy and Ed’s 1850’s Farm House, and boy oh boy, were we fortunate. The Farm House is charming, immaculate, warm, comfy, full of interesting art/sculptures, well stocked, well appointed, and Betsy and Ed, the owners, truly incredible hosts. We knew we were in for a treat based upon the fabulous reviews, the blazing fast replies to our messages, and being greeted by Ed upon our arrival with a quick, helpful tour of the house. Once settled in, we continued to be amazed when finding a Pack & Play all set up and ready for our 1 ½ year old granddaughter’s nap and a pile of lovely, age appropriate children’s book for her to enjoy. Given the not so wonderful weather while in Beacon as well as traveling with a young child, we opted to cook all of our meals in the inviting farm kitchen, and we were delighted (and impressed!) to find everything that we needed not only there, but in great condition. From a huge assortment of pots and pans…to an array of small appliances, utensils, cookbooks, and gadgets…the house is equipped with everything you could possibly need. I could go on and on about this special house and its owners, but to cut to the chase, if you are reading this and considering booking this house, just GO! You will not be disappointed ;-). Note to B&E: Thanks and we WILL be back!!!!

Betsy's house was beautiful, clean, and well stocked, not only with cleaning supplies but also books and entertainment for all ages. The house was thoughtfully furnished; the appliances and furniture (indoor and outdoor) were all high quality. The pizza oven was so fun to use! Betsy was a terrific hostess and provided helpful instructions. The location was ideal and we are already looking forward to coming back.

This home is lovely. Although the weather was uncomfortably hot outside we were cool inside and had plenty of together space and private space. The art work was delightful, the kitchen state of the art. We were near everything Beacon has to offer. Communication with Betsy was easy. We would love to come again when it’s cool enough to enjoy the fire pit and the pizza oven. A great place!

Exactly what we needed
Stayed for Parents Weekend, and the house was exactly the relaxing place we needed for my cadet and his roommate. It was very clean, and had a great quirky and charming atmosphere. We played badminton, took naps, grabbed takeout from just a minute up the road in Beacon, cooked in the charming, well organized kitchen, and just generally enjoyed the space. Will definitely seek this place out again.

Gem of a place!
This home totally surpassed our expectations; it was beautifully decorated, had all the amenities, & it is filled with incredible art. The beds were cozy, kitchen had everything we needed (for a chef) & the grounds were top notch: lush & green & so much space, featuring sculptures by the owner, Ed & tether ball for the kids! Betsy was communicative & helpful & made everything easy. Whenever our family of 5 comes back to Beacon, we would definitely love to stay here again. If it’s not booked! Thanks again, Betsy & Ed, for your gem of a place. We miss it already.

Family wedding event in the Beacon area
This property worked out prefect as a home base for a family wedding. The location in proximity to downtown Beacon and necessary stores, gas stations, restaurants etc was very convenient.
The home was very well equipped and had more kitchen cabinet- bathroom amenities that make a stay so much more comfortable and easy. Items such as spices, teas, coffee filters, cleaning material, bathroom products out of the norm. Property is well cared for and home very clean. The pizza oven, grill and griddle were all used and fun addition to stay. Owner immediately refilled wood bin and fixed center burner on grill. Very attentive and friendly owners who live just up the street as you pull into street which is more a driveway. We recommend this home without reservation. We stayed for one week.

Fabulous location.
The property was beautiful with lots of unexpected art We enjoyed meals outside under the grape arbor (ripe grapes hanging from above), evenings at the fire pit, glimpses of the Hudson River and great hosts. We were within easy driving distance of West Point, Beacon village with beautiful falls and great restaurants, the mid Hudson walkover bridge, hikes at Cold Springs around the ruins of the West Point Foundry beside Constitution Island, Hyde Park with the FDR homes and the Vanderbilt mansion, as well as a nice visit in the quaint town of Rhinebeck. Couldn’t recommend it more!

Perfect Haven for a Socially Distanced Family Celebration
Tucked away from the road, Betsy and Ed’s gorgeous property was ideal for a quiet celebration of a milestone birthday. We had to postpone two trips to Europe this year, but drinking cocktails in the garden, playing croquet on the lawn, cooking Thai, Italian and steak dinners in the expansive and very well-equipped kitchen, doing a jigsaw puzzle in the sunny dining room, and eating outside on the beautiful trellised brick patio, we could forget we were less than 90 minutes from Manhattan, and imagine we were in Burgundy, Umbria, Sintra, or the English countryside. The house is, as others have described, beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, filled with art, books and curios. Although its an 1850s antique farmhouse, everything has been modernized and freshly painted and the high ceilings made it feel even larger than it was. In the town of Beacon, less than a mile away, some local spots are still closed due to COVID, especially during the week, but we aren’t ready for indoor dining anyway, and had planned ahead. We explored the surrounding towns and enjoyed visits to Storm King (booked a few weeks ahead) and hiked to the Madame Brett Park waterfall and Dennings Point and aong the Hudson to Long Wharf.. We had brought our bikes and drove to Poughkeepsie to do the Walkway over the Hudson and Mid Hudson Bridge loop and a section of the Hudson Valley Rail Trail. The house is a little out of town, so we drove to Main Street, parked and window shopped along the quaint main thoroughfare. We had brought all our groceries with us but picked up hearty local sandwiches at friendly Bob’s Mountain Grocery, and beer from Two Way Brewing Co. In the evenings, the strong wifi made it easy to zoom with our families in other parts of the country, and there were plenty of quiet spaces for reading and sports watching. And on our only rainy afternoon when the humidity was high, the air con kept the house blessedly cool. In the early mornings, we watched deer graze on the lawn, squirrels and groundhogs steal apples from the little orchard, and out of every window, we enjoyed Ed’s inspiring sculptures dotted around the property. All in all, it was everything we had hoped for and more. The hosts were just the right mix of welcoming and professional, and had thought of every detail. Four nights wasn’t enough! We’d love to return later in the autumn if the calendar opens up!

Fabulous house and property
This seemingly recently renovated beautiful farmhouse is tastefully decorated and very well supplied. We enjoyed the art (many local artists) as well as the well stocked kitchen. The linens were delicious and the beds comfy. That's just the inside. The grounds are beautiful, dotted with wonderful sculptures. There's plenty of room for kids to run around and play. And the pizza oven is the piece de resistance. The house is located just a few miles from downtown Beacon and close to hiking trails. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Amazing in every way
We had an incredible time here. Everything about our visit was perfect - the beautifully restored house with a perfectly curated interior, the serene setting and the great town of Beacon. To Betsy and Ed - Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful home- you are both such gracious hosts. We definitely would love to come back.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful house
We absolutely loved our stay in this property! It is a clean, well equipped house which is very tastefully decorated. Everything you will need in the kitchen is there. The owner provides towels, toiletries, linens and everything is set up in a very proactive way - anticipates what someone might need in the house and it is right there! Owner is also super responsive on text, so you can ask her a question pretty easily.
Beacon Main Street is a 10 minute drive away and has a great Farmers market on Sundays as well as a great grocery store so we stocked up and really enjoyed cooking in the beautiful kitchen and grill. There is a collection of board games in the house which the kids loved. There a lot of good trails to hike close by which we loved doing too.
For me the biggest surprise was the books! There are 100s of awesome books in the house and my family and I love to read! It is an amazing collection and I curled up with one of the books each night after dinner and loved it!
We are already discussing dates to go back later in the summer!

Peace and serenity in well equipped chef's home
Our modern family stayed at this property for 3 nights and made the most of our time there. We felt like there was just enough separate as well as shared space to make our long weekend pleasant and relaxing for all of us. The upstairs bedroom with bath connected to the separate room is a great 2nd wing for those who want to spread out in a private space. Each of the other bedrooms was comfortable for either a couple or single. We stayed in and cooked twice and found every kitchen implement needed to make the prep "just like home". The bathrooms were stocked with everything one might have forgotten to pack which is always so nice to find in a rental.
Surrounded by art in this spectacular setting between 2 very cute Hudson River towns felt luxurious and very inspired. Who needs Storm King when you have your own sculpture garden on site?!
You won't go wrong by selecting this gorgeous home for a family gathering or a place for your family to spread out, and the host responds immediately to your questions. We felt spoiled and lucky in this amazing property, and a little hesitant about writing a glowing review, because we would really like to keep this property to ourselves. Enjoy!

Great stay in Beacon. Relaxing, clean and good flow to house.
For a weekend away with friends, this made for the perfect stay. The house was a great spot to use as a jumping off point for Beacon and the surrounding area (even the vineyards.)
The home itself is clean, has a good flow and a wonderful kitchen/outdoor area which were great for a laid back, but social, weekend with a small group.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend away in a clean and quaint property. Terrific firefly viewing at dusk, while grilling.

Beautiful History
This 1800’s House was beautiful and a pleasure to stay in. It was decorated with local artist’s treasures. Amenities were nice and homeowners even go above and beyond to make sure you have all you need. Beds were comfortable, seemed small for a Queen beds but we just may be more acclimated to our King beds. AC worked wonderfully even on upper levels. Homeowner works out of garage on property but we never saw him or were disturbed by him in the garage. Highly recommended, would stay again.
