The room was adorable, comfy and cozy with the fireplace!! Such a nice bathroom with fabulous water pressure in the shower!
Really loved all of the security measures. Felt very safe.
The stairs to the third floor! (Haha! We’re just out of shape!!)

The property is centrally located and walkable to all the restaurants and shops. The room was clean and and newly decorated. Room has a coffee pot and cooking appliances. John the owner gave us his card if we needed anything. Overall this was perfect for our stay in Beacon and we would stay here again.
As from many of the reviews - This is not a hotel and to get to the room is through a few hallways and stairs. There is no elevator. Which was fine for us but if you need help with luggage it’s not ideal. The hallway is shared with an apartment building and it’s a smelly walk to the room. The rooms don’t smell. There was no fridge which is weird if you have an entire kitchen set up.

It had a convenient location
No reception and difficult to find our own way through many doors and stairwells to our room

The photos on Booking site were
Misleading not representative of
Facility, no on site staff at all,
Enormous number of step
Stairways to our room
Shabby lobby .. actually filthy
We were so upset by the place
We left immediately and
Found other accommodations
We charged in FULL on
September 7 2023
For almost $750 for 3 nights
Most distressing part of
The ordeal was carrying
Iuggage up 4 flights of
Many stairs
We are very familiar with Beacon
This is disappointing considering
I have Genius Level on Booking
And understand how this is
A listed property
Everything was awful

The hotel was closed when I’ve arrived on August 4 th at 8 am! The main door was locked and nobody answered the door when I’ve knocked on it!!!
I’ve called this hotel 3 times prior to that date, ( to inquire about breakfast availability ) and nobody answered ! I’ve left message two days before my arrival to be called back and clarify the breakfast situation , and nobody called me back!
The hotel changed the name and the status ( “ short term”???) since I’ve made the reservation . I don’t anderstand what’s happening !!!

Location was great!
I wish we could have had a little more contact with a live person? A man did stop by once to check to see if everything was okay.

It was clean. Bathroom was well appointed.
Entrance was terrible, dirty and smelled of smoke. Not marked so hard to find. 4 flights of stairs to our room which was not expected. Room was small and furniture placement made it awkward to move around .
AC unit wasn’t working properly. I let them know that shortly after we arrived and they did nothing.

Great location on Main Street and conveniently close to all shops. I’m glad we didn’t need a car at all while staying here. Room itself is clean, comfortable, well-stocked and well-decorated. Self check-in and out was easy and seamless, similar to a vacation rental.
The entrance to the hotel is shared with an adjacent set of local apartments that smelled like cigarettes, and that smell followed us up until we entered the room. The room itself didn’t smell bad but walking in and out of the hotel isn’t the most pleasant experience.

Beacon Hotel has a really great location on the Main Street which was super convenient. We came by the Metro North from NYC and were able to walk to the hotel with ease. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. We were also pleasantly surprised by the room, it was comfortable, lots of light, good shower and a good TV. Overall our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable.
The amenities mentioned items such as a hair drier and an iron, but we were unable to find those while staying. We also wish there was a way to leave belongings at the hotel property or nearby before check-in time. We were traveling with heavy backpacks and had a tour of Bannerman’s Castle before check-in time so we had to hike the island with the bags. Other than that, the stay was splendid.

Room was fine
Finding and getting to the room is very weird. There's nothing on the front of the building saying it's the Beacon Hotel. Once we established that, to get to our room on the third floor we had to climb two flights of stairs that felt like we were in a youth hostel at best. There are no human beings in reception or anywhere else.

Location is Main Street central--easy access to restaurants, groceries, pharmacy (all within several blocks). Little if any noise, silence in the night.
It is what it is, so be aware: no elevator. If you're on the third floor, and you're carrying bags, you're in for a schlep. There's no service. The kitchenette could use an electric kettle for boiling water--currently only a Mr Coffee drip machine.

Shower.
Difficult to find entrance. No sign. No lobby or reception. 4 flight of steps. No elevator. No one to assist with luggage. Door lock faulty. Difficult to unlock. Milk in the fridge had curdled. Construction next door starting at 6:30am.

Room was clean and was a nice stay in a cute little town!
plumbing was an inconvenience as both sinks were clogged before arriving, price per night is a lot for this inconvenience.

the location right on main street Beacon. My room was to the rear of the building and very quiet.
it was large and clean, with a good size bathroom.
Walking distance to the train station. Frequent trains to and from Central Station NYC. It is a lovely journey along the Hudson River, and it takes less than one hour to arrive in NYC if you catch the rapid train. There is also a huge parking lot at the station.
Complementary bottles of water in the fridge, little snacks (chocolate and pretzels) and coffee
Flexibility of the management. My room reservation was held, even though my Credit Card failed, and I it was possible to pay in cash
The entry to the „Hotel“ is somewhat strange, as it is accessed through the entry of a rental property, and it neither has a lobby, nor any staff. It is rather like an airb&b.
Neither the sink, nor the bathtub had a plug.
