The room was spacious and well appointed. It was easy to find from the directions provided.

Holy #$%! we fell in love with that shower. Overall very clean and it smelled nice. Great location for glacier experiences and nice restaurants nearby.
Wifi was a bit slow during our stay. Had some connectivity issues.

Due to a lot of wind, on the access road there was about 50 cm snow. After asking a few times, the manager found us a different location for the night.
The access road was not passable at all, even with a Gimmy 4 wheel drive. But all the surrounding roads were clean enough to reach even with a 2 wheel drive.
For this reason, a local came to help us reach the hotel. However, the local told us that he could only tow us to the road, but not clean the road! He would only clean the road the next morning!
As a result, I would have been stuck in the hotel all night without being able to leave. It would have been reasonable if I could get in myself, and then a storm hit the road and made it impassable. The reason the road was so dirty is because it was only clean in the morning! At the place I went to (2 km away), there was a tractor cleaning the road in front of me! This made access very easy.
Note that being stuck would have prevented me from seeing the Northern Lights! That was the only reason I decided to stay in the area!

Amazing property, very private, very comfortable, this is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway. The bathroom floor was heated, shower area so spacious with a heated towel rack, big sink area with a lovely mirror. The parking was great, you can even charge your car. The staff cleaned the snow bright and early so we didn’t have to deal with it. The staff helped assist us with any questions we had or issues (don’t leave your key in your room) we would definitely come back to this facility, 100% worth the money. So happy we choose this.
It was a bit far from any food places, better off to bring instant noodles as they have a kettle or bring left overs when your out and about as they have a fridge.

Room was lovely, very well done and they had Netflix which we needed as weather was awful on arrival day. View is lovely from atop the hill and on leaving we could see the waterfall behind which would have been nice to walk to if time. Location to glacier lagoon is great, worked will for us with a glacier tour from there in the morning. Nothing really else around, had to drive about 10 min to find a place for dinner. Breakfast option at lagoon cafe.

It’s of a good size
A bit difficult to find and without windows, it gets a bit stuffy
4.3
Modern comfortable room. Tea coffee and fridge.
Bit too far away from any areas with a choice of restaurants.
4.3
Great location to explore the nearby glacier lakes, beautiful, clean new room with comfortable beds and great view over the valley. Communication with the guesthouse was great.
The road to the guesthouse is very difficult to get up to by car and there's no staff at the guesthouse (nor breakfast or any snacks available). Gladly we knew about this from reading other people's reviews. The room had a kettle and tea/coffee provided but that's all so remember to bring your own food! Closest restaurant is about 10min drive away and closes early. Also the Ekra glacier lagoon did not have water in it when we stayed there in early August, but you could see the bigger glacier in distance from the guesthouse.
4.3
Excellent location to explore the south coast between Hofn and Vik.
No restaurant on the property, or options for breakfast or dinner located within max 30 mins.
4.3
it was clean, warm and comfortable. good shower.
4.3
it is beautifully situated on a hillside overlooking the Glacier Lagoon. Great views, easy parking, free EV charging if you need it.
No issues

Ekra is located in the most beautiful spot near the iceberg lagoon. You can even see the lagoon from the hotel. The room was huge and very well furnished (an additional table would help, however). It is modern and feels brand new. The bathroom is very nice. I loved the powerful shower. The view, even from the back corner room was superb.
As I mentioned, an additional table for the coffee maker and stuff would help.
4.3
Exceptional location with waterfall right behind the house.
At such a remote location it would have been nice with a microwave, a slightly larger fridge and a real table, so it would be possible to eat breakfast in the room.
4.3
perfect location for approaching Jökulsarlon glacier lake and diamond beach that are very close.
no breakfast
4.3
The view of the sea and waterfalls.
The floor in the room was unswept. The mattress was stained, and throw up was right outside the entry door and was never cleaned up, so we had to look at that to go in and out of the accommodation and to enjoy the view that was created through the glass entry door. The owner offered moving to another view at the cost of the view we paid for and doing so would have forced us to move all our belongings in the heavy rain.
4.3
Beautiful accommodation, good coffee for the morning, gorgeous view, superb location, best night's sleep in beautiful bed linen, amazing shower - could have stayed much longer 😀
Could do with larger towels, couldn't turn off the outside light
4.3
As close as you can get to the Glacier lagoon. Room was clean and comfortable.
Maybe consider a Microwave in the room as there are not many options around for eating out. Currently construction work going on, but didn’t disturb the room much.
4.3
Quiet, clean
4.3
Dirty Windows! Lights outside, we couldn't switch off.
4.3
If the place is so far off any city, and everything is closed in a 250km radius from 8pm, there could be at least some acess to something to eat if you could not arrange anything previously... other than that, increadible place!
4.3
property is clean and quite new
nothing around to get food
4.3
Room very comfortable with a super bathroom.
Nothing
4.3
nice decor and very current, host is communicative helpful and very nice.
check in not easy, carrying suitcases up the stairs, all the lights on the porches couldn’t be turned off and we wanted to be able to see northern lights but it was so bright. when it’s 3 degrees and late and your exhausted from travel trying to get lock box codes to open is a pain. upgrade and buy the ones that you juts punch the code in and the door opens. plus we almost locked ourselves out several times. the rooms are tiny with no closet and no where to put your bags. given there is zero food in the area would be nice to have a microwave to heat what you brought or have access to a kitchen.
4.3
The room was beautiful and very warm and cosy. the bed super comfy and underfloor heating a real treat
The construction outside the room. check in was 4pm and I arrived just after and the builders finished at 6pm and started again at 9am. I am sure they did their best knowing I was there but the drilling and banging was not what I needed after a 7 hour drive.
4.3
No breakfast but the location of the hotel was excellent and mesmerising
Nothing, we would come back and stay here again
4.3
3rd time I stay here, the toom is very modern and luxurious, beds are very comfortable and the view is amazing all year round! the shower is amazing. has a mini ar with sparling water and coffee maker, the place is quier with a nice waterfall in the back surrounded by a tiny forest. the staff is amazing and replies very fast, this time I had a very special request regarding my check-in and they manage to make it possible! 10/10 service without any doubt!
nothing to state here beside of a fish smell inside the fridge, most likely the guest before used for fresh food with a strong smell, but the fridge was clean inside and with new sparkling water for the guests. I stayed in the lower floor, and the parking cars can block the view if the park on fromt of your door, but neighbour guests where very u derstanding and moved the car. maybe can be stablished this area to be only for walking area and block with rocks or something to avoid being used by cars.
4.3
Lovely accommodation
Bit between towns.
4.3
Modern design, waterfall behind great
Couldn’t get TV to work, no facilities only room. was like an Airbnb really.
4.3
The property is in a stunning location of the country with stunning views of both the mountains and ocean while giving you a elevated view of both. all 6 of us were in awe as we woke up to a gorgeous morning drenched with sun and warm weather during our September stay.
parking was a little tight, and the proximity to neighbors is something to consider.
