Gutes Hotel für einen kurzen Stopp.

Freundlicher Empfang, Parkplätze vor der Tür, gute Betten und vor allem war es richtig ruhig.

Hôtel enregistré dans mes favoris sur le secteur de Caen.

Chambre de taille très correcte, salle de bain bien équipée, fonctionnelle. Restaurant servant de très bons plats. Petits déjeuner très copieux et varié.

Short but enjoyable stay

Lovely greeting, all staff seemed friendly. Thank you so much for a quick turn around. It was certainly appreciated.

When we arrived we have previously e-mailed stating we would need day beds, but this e-mail was not sent on, and neither was our confirmation number, we had to give the amount paid which we did not have as this was paid for by our company.

Great value and location.

Location was ideal for travelling to the port,beaches(2nd WW)and the centre of Caen. Large car park(free) Good breakfast and evening meal.

My electrics were playing up on my brand new motorbike, it was raining bad. In distress i pulled over to find a hotel with inside parking. I drove about a hundred km to this hotel which said it had inside parking to be told it hadn't, both booking.com and the hotel refused to give me my money back?

Not great

I did not like anything about this hotel

We arrived at the hotel as a family of 4 for two nights but we had to stay in two rooms which was fine but the hotel had not giving us rooms side by side or with a connecting door as we are on a family holiday we did not want to be separated like we were. My daughters are twins and very close they did not want to be separated but I had no choice as I could not have them sleep in the room on their own as they are only 12 years old. The man who checked us in. He did everything we could to get us a room side by side or with a connecting door. But unfortunately he didn’t succeed. We went to one of the rooms 219 and there was a terrible smell from it ( it was like it was coming from the carpet) and also my daughter had a shower and the water was freezing cold. The mattress were terrible and we could hardly sleep in them. It was late when we checked in, That’s why I had to stay that night. I booked another hotel for the following night I informed the receptionist that night that we will be checking out in the morning and that we would like a refund for our 2nd night booked. The receptionist said that’s fine and I will make a note of it and leave a message for the manager Jocelyn he was in work the following morning. In the mean time I have booked another room via booking.com for the following evening and also rang booking.com who I booked this hotel with to inform them of the situation and that I will be checking out the following morning. They said they have to wait for authorisation from the manager for a refund. I went down to reception the following morning to check out and I met Jocelyn (Chef de Reception ) I asked him for a refund For the second night as we were not staying and not happy here with the situation we were in with the hotel. His response was, HE LAUGHED AT ME. He was so unprofessional and said there was no way I was getting a refund. I will be following up on this with his manager. It was very upsetting staying here and caused unnecessary hassle.

Lots of improvement required in organisation but good staff

The guy on reception was exceptionally good. He was a one man band - sorted out the booking when hotel lost it, carried suitcases upstairs when we could not manage, provided soap in the bathroom when there was none available and served us drinks. His English was also exceptional. you do not pay him enough!!

Superb

Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Set in a lovely urban parkland area ....has a lovely open feel to it. Right beside le memorial - so it's easy to find.

A bit of bleach down the loo would be great.

An excellent hotel for visiting the Normandy sites.

We were a group of 10 in 5 Classic cars. Good parking was essential. We also made good use of the bar and the pool. The restaurant was good but possibly not enough choice for 4 nights, but we found other options within a short walk. The bedrooms were quite basic but had everything we needed. The staff were excellent and very helpful.

One of our members was celiac but there were no gluten free options on the menu. However he did manage to sort something with the chef.

This is a tiny thing but if the outside said "originals" as the branding it would have saved me a circuit of the area. But only a tiny thing it was a great stay really.

The dinner is good, i recommend

Restaurant: i liked dinner, close to museum, the pool, parking, staff. Experience depends on the room. First one - bad smell from cleaning, broken window, so so toilet, next room we has been moved to on the second floor: just perfect exceeding expectatons although the layout is exactly the same

Location good for caen/Normandy beaches

Really disappointing stay. This is a basic hotel. We had booked to use the pool which was the advertising picture on 'booking.com' but when we arrived we were told that written in the 'small print' was that the pool was closed. We had committed to the expensive breakfast when we checked in but in the morning it looked so paltry (tables not even made up, hardly any selection) we chose not to eat it and asked for a refund. The refund given was only partial and no response as to why this was when I contacted the hotel via email. They had given us free drinks to compensate re the pool closure but this was offset by the failure to fully refund for the breakfast! Staff on site were friendly but I suspect the place is poorly managed.

The staff as well the reasonably priced and great quality food... specifically the dinners.

The bathrooms are very poorly designed and the ventilation is marginal at best. Fortunately the windows can be opened wide! to vent the room of steam after a shower. Unfortunately when the temp is over 15 outside this takes a very long time

Excellent restaurant. Good breakfast available for a fee. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Free parking. Has a small swimming pool.

Good value with surprising bonus features.

The pool was a treat after a long day travelling. We didn't use the restaurant as it was closed on the Sunday night but it was an unexpected bonus for future stays. The room was well furnished and the bed was extremely comfortable.

The window wouldn't open properly and it was very warm. But the bed was so comfortable we did sleep well. The shower couldn't be used properly but was due to be fixed. Staff were very helpful.

The pool was great

The breakfast was not value for money, and the location was way out of the Town centre, at least 45mins walk. There is a bus stop near but buses stop running at 9pm. They tried to charge us for 4 breakfasts when we only had one. Not enough coathangers, drawer space and the shower screen was at the end of the bath, not at tap end so everything got wet.
