El hotel tiene mucha onda, su personal muy amable, habitación correcta y desayuno buenísimo
Un poco ruidoso, los otros huéspedes poco respetuosos

Kim Haus has a bit of a hostel vibe, very nice. Didn’t understand why there were no more guests because I would recommend this place for sure. Only thing is the (original) price for a room, but when you pay the booking price it is a nice price for what you get. You can also use the washingmachine and drying machine for free, have drinks in the bar etc. Saw online that they have live music every evening, that wasn’t there. Very nice staff and location is great, nearby several street art spots and shops/restaurants. Would recommend for travellers.
It was very quiet, expected more guests and also the reason the bar was closed/no live music.
3.5
Conveniently located loft-type studio accommodation that worked well for my short stay.
The room's AC wasn't as effective/cool as I'd like it to have been considering the very humid weather at the time.

-Good location.
-There's only one standard breakfast but it was great!
-Quick and responsive staff.
-No issue on communication with receptionist.
-There's a 5ghz Wi-Fi at the third floor common area.
-Free self laundry with free detergent.
-Good and consistent hot water.
-Water pressure is also good enough.
-Free drinkable water dispenser.
-Aircon works well.
-Walking distance to a number of interesting streets.
-I also like the fact that they do not enter your room on their own if you do not put the 'make up my room' sign.
-Also like it that they will leave the towels at the door handle if you request for fresh towel.
-This place is great, but is definitely not a 4 star hotel.
-There's no TV in deluxe loft or anywhere in the common areas.
-The whatsapp contact shown on the reception did not highlight the need to put +60 in front of the number, took awhile to find the contact on whatsapp, this is a bit annoying especially when there's only 1 receptionist who has to manage both the cafe and reception and what nots.
-There's no 24hr reception, so if your flight is at night, do make sure they are okay with late night check-in before booking. I did manage to check-in a little after 12am.
-Breakfast only starts from 9am.
-I didn't ask if there's a place to store my luggage on the last day while I walk around waiting for my late flight, but based on how there's only one receptionist who is busy running around, I decided to just bring my luggage with me while loitering around on the last day.

It was close to many eateries and shops.
The lift was broken and my room was on the fifth floor. No one was at the counter when I checked in. Had to call the staff from the cafe to check me in and there was no window in the bedroom. And there's also no TV.

Great hotel in the heart of Chinatown, Penang.
Lovely staff, great wifi and A/C.
Would definitely stay there again.

I’m living at 5th floor, when heavy rain, the ceiling will leak water...and the aircon opened all night also not cold...

The room was a great size, plenty of plug sockets and right next to bed. all facilitys worked perfectly, air con, hot shower, electrics. the place is perfect stay to explore george town. The staff are really kind polite and helpful. The security of the building is great too.
I liked the whole stay it was perfect for the 5 day break.

superb location and quirky hotel with heaps of character. Great value for money.
Rooms without windows might put some off, but this made rooms quiet and not as bad as first thought. Seemed to be only two staff trying to do everything, and place now seems a bit rundown.

good locations. cozy place.
no wardrobe. dog barks

The atmosphere of the area is good, good for short stays.
The place is a bit old, and there is no lift.

Great location.

manager was helpful, especially as he was on his own
Good breakfast.
Cheap.
Characterful. Cosy open spaces and nice little terraces. Relaxing lobby.
Close to lively bars and streetfood
no window in room
rat ran across gym roof (but rats are an issue in the town generally) Gym dirty as open air and exposed to rain

Great location in the heart of George Town.
Cosy Place with some musical history.
Free Laundry
Gym with some of the basics for a workout.
Nice museum
extremely noisy at night. The place requires better insulation. You can hear every single thing happening outside the building. To minimise the noise, you should ask for and inside room. Also, try to avoid the rooms nearby to the laundry area.

Beautiful hostel. The rooms are very cool and are very spacious (I’m 6”3) for tall people!
It hasn’t got a vibe sadly. It does appear though that this is more a post covid problem for Malaysia than anything. Everywhere feels so dead, it’s a shame. I hope they get busier again.

Receptionist very helpful to assist with luggage as lift not in service since December 2022
Has there been a change in management? Either house keeping staff overworked or understaffed? If overworked still can sit in balcony exercising fingers on phone instead of cleaning.
Please fix the lift
A mini fridge in room.would be nice

Very nice design . They have an arcade game machine in the lobby, which was fun
3.5
Location its perfect. The hostel itself looks like a museum. They have bar and live music upstairs also.
A better option for breakfast maybe. But not a problem.

Three things about this place are really good:
-free laundry;
-the breakfast is tasty;
-free water dispenser (no single-use plastic bottles).
-The room has no window, even a small window on top of the entrance door would make things better;
-Even though breakfast was supposed to be served from 9 AM onwards, we always got it after 9:30. Moreover, we weren't asked if we were vegetarians or not, so if you have particular requests, you should tell the staff before you get the food.
These two things did not ruin our vacation though.

it’s a cool place and the area is great. Clean and comfortable. They had a washing area and a water dispenser which is great.
It kind of felt almost abandoned. Most parts of the building were totally unused. Kind of eerie now though it’s probably great when there’s some life in those parts.

Really good location right in the centre of all the shops, markets and restaurants. Breakfast is included and is really nice. The rooms were clean and bed was comfy. Also very handy there are washing and drying facilities. Would recommend.

Excellent (clean, convenient, secure, quiet) location especially for 1st time visitors to all local eats, sights, walkabouts and Komtar Bus Terminal. While the room was compact, it had all the basic necessary amenities, especially ample storage and hangers which was great for hanging out the laundry to dry in the room. Loved the convenience of the free laundry facilities (washing machine with free laundry powder, dryer). The free flow of self-service water dispenser was really appreciated. Totally appreciated the "one-man-customer-care-team" of Sumon who made our 1st visit to Penang memorable at a most artsy, quirky hotel. Couldn't have asked for a more capable customer care. He even made a better breakfast (on the one day when the regular chef was away) for 07 pax than the regular chef. Finally, loved the stairs of stairs! Well done!
Provide a luggage storage space for guests arriving early in the day until the official check-in time, instead of the space behind the cabinet which was quite open and didn't appear too secure as it was open to public access.

Nice room and in a really good location.
We had quite a lot of ants in our room on the first night however the receptionist came and helped us out.

the staff at Kim Haus is phenomenal, i had some issues with my room and Sumon attended to all my queries. Very helpful, kind and efficient. Rooms are very clean and comfy as well, nice tables downstairs to work at with good wifi and ambience. location is strategic, lots of cafes and food options nearby.
3.5
It had a nice deco.
The room was not as advertised. There was no kettle, the room had a generator sound because of the fan in the toilet, it was super small, very hard to climb to the queen bed and honestly they didnt have a lift and my room was on the 5th floor. so all in all not a good experience except for the location.
3.5
I liked the overall vibe of the hostel, very cool interior and lots of quirky pieces throughout the hostel. The location was very convenient for Georgetown restaurants, pubs and attractions. Free breakfast was good too. The free Laundry Facilities were really handy too and the hostel even provided the washing powder.
I was a bit disappointed that there was no atmosphere or live music in the bar area! it was empty with no bar tender. I think this may have been because of Chinese New Year though as lots of things were closed!
