Hotel is in great location (easy to walk to from the ferry point / bus stand without the need to climb many stairs), with very comfortable, clean and well maintained rooms. Breakfast is served on terrace and staff is quite friendly.
Christian is an amazing host, one of the best I have encountered during my travels over years. His energy and positivity is infectious and he is willing to help 24/7. He helped us in every aspect of the stay including ferry bookings, local travel and restaurant suggestions, even came over to ferry terminal to help me get over to hotel smoothly on arrival with the luggage (I didn’t even ask for or expect that, he did it proactively; but anyone travelling with two young kids would highly appreciate the gesture).

Conveniently located and easy to get to from drop-off points, even with luggage. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and thebathroom was updated and very nice. The hotel was perfectly situated in the center of the town. The rooftop breakfast was lovely!
The room needed updating. Although it was good enough for a 2 night stay, the furniture and layout was not very comfortable.

This hotel is nicely-located in the middle of the town. It’s very neat. Our room was newly-renovated & comfy. Breakfast at the rooftop was cool with a nice view. The owner, Christian, did his utmost to make sure our Amalfi experience was great — always helpful with not obtrusive.
Nothing. Just a note: We were there at the peak of summer, tickets could sell very fast. You have to be buy when it opens at 8am. Always reach out to Christian in case of a little problem, he might have a solution for you.

location was convenient, breakfast was okay, room was not too big but comfortable
be careful when you are paying. we paid by card and were charged in a different currency and also a different amount. The host contacted to say we re dishonest and it was not his fault. The bank said the currency was selected at payment. The host payed us back the difference. Also, not sure if it is allowed, but they took photos of our IDs - both sides - instead of taking our details. it did not feel right at all.

Christian, the host was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The location is right in the center, 5 minutes walk to the station, ferry and piazza. The room we got was recently renovated. We were the first guests for this room.
There were few stairs to reach the hotel.

This hotel will soon be lovely as it is in the process of being refurbished. Our room had not been refurbished yet. All the rooms have interesting historic murals, painted by a local artist, on the walls. . The hotel is in a great location and our room over/looked the main little street which is just off the central square by the cathedral. Christian was most helpful and greeted us off the bus. He was full of useful information and would do anything to help.
It’s difficult to rate everything about hotel because it was having a lot of renovation work done to it, so it’s difficult to rate the breakfast in the terrace etc as it was not available while we were there.

It was right in the middle of Amalfi, within 5-10 minutes of restaurants and shops, yet calm and quiet in our room.

prime location, but it’s a bit of a challenge to reach to the hotel from the main road as the no cars allowed. but the staff helps you with carrying the luggages to the room but not when you check out. it is a bit old building and the room as well, the staff is very helpful and friendly. close to the ferry and bus station.
amenities was very limited in the bathroom.

My expectations were exceeded! The location was central and easy to get to (stairs were not hard at all, you’re in Italy!). The room was very charming, clean, bed comfortable, and the A/c very strong (room is way better in real life compared to the pictures!). The bathtub had jets (although we didn’t use) and the water pressure was perfect! The doors to the balcony were new and blocked out any street noise. We had a room with the view of the street and it was beautiful. The host, Christian, was so welcoming and hospitable. He provided us with bus and ferry schedules as well as made excellent suggestions on what we should see! Breakfast included many delicious options and it was located on a beautiful rooftop terrace overlooking the town. I would stay in this exact hotel again if I ever come back!
Nothing- everything was excellent!

Very good value for price. Stephan was very nice and helpful, contacted us in advance and advised us of the best way to get to Amalfi.
The hotel is nicely decorated, room was clean and cozy. Location was right in the middle of things, not quiet, but easy to get to port, bus station and shops. Would definitely recommend this for a stay in Amalfi and as a starting point for Amalfi coast attractions.
An unrelated note: the staircase to the hotel is next to a bakery, so every time you walk there you get a whiff of chocolate and lemon cake :-)

Hotel Antica Repubbica offers so many elements that make it a grand place...it is difficult to know where to begin.
A large room, separate bathroom and shower (a large shower), lots of bathroom counter space, large bath towel, large hand towels, and not only a washcloth but also a large one!
Add to these a simple to operate air conditioning unit, a wonderful desk with chair, refrigerator and freezer, large wardrobe with safe, and breakfast served on the rooftop with a glorious view of the cliffs and mountains.... Antica Repubbica is a great find.
A 5-minute walk from the marina and SITA bus stop, depending on the density of the crowd around the pier and in Piazza del Duomo and its immediate environs, the hotel sits back off the high street so feels secluded but just down a staircase guests have the main street of Amalfi with all it offers. Next door to Antica Repubbica is Pasticceria Caffetteria Leone--a must-visit pasticceria--and a minute away going up the high street is Bar Della Valle, a ristorante with excellent food. Try their fresh-grilled vegetable plate, which includes eggplant, zucchini, sweet peppers, and mozzarella cheese. So fantastico I had lunch there twice. The aforementioned with a glass of Martini Bianco on ice made for a refreshing afternoon.
Last but not least, Christian is welcoming, full of charm, and ready to offer suggestions and provide directions. I was originally booked for two nights but with his assistance was able to leave my previous stay in another city a day early and head to Amalfi, and I'm so grateful I did.

Continental breakfast not usual for Italy so you need to appreciate it. Very well located, close to the port, main street where you will find the best restaurants, close to EVERYTHING you need and at the same time quiet once you close your windows.
The girl at the reception she is soooo clear with directions and explanations, and Christian helped me to make a reservation in a restaurant (Da Teresa) at a beach place which is only accessible by boat. This was a recommendation from the hotel that made my day in Amalfi!
Bed was so comfy, and the pillows, and the room was much more comfortable than what I was expecting. And so nice with the paintings.
Has everything you need for a short stay.
By mistake one night I could open with my key the room next door (I didnt make on purpose, I just could not remember the name of my room). Situation ended being very funny as the English family I by mistake interrupted their sleep, started to have fun for the situation and so do I. We started laughing and I didnt even mention anything at the reception because for us it was not at that moment an issue. But, I think it is important to mention it here for other guests so they can make sure this does not happen and you feel safe because what It can happen is that someone really enters in your room and interrupt your intimacy.
Again I will highlight for me at that point and due to the nice neighbors and that particular situation I DIDNT consider it was a big deal but it could turn out to be. In that moment I felt safe with the English family and I was leaving the following day.

The worker is very kind and all foods were satisfactory :)
Also, the location is very close w/ the Amalfi coast. So it was very good that we enjoyed the Amalfi beach.
The soundproofing is not good. Our room was at the opposite end of the hall and we could hear the voices of other people outside.

Breakfast was great! The lady who cooked us eggs with our choice of toppings along with making us coffee was so nice and accommodating. We got there close to 10am right before closing so the sun would start to come and shine over us. This caused us to rush a little bit because the sun was scorching hot. I would recommend putting a couple of umbrellas on the roof top where the guests sit.
Not much to say here. Wish we could keep the AC on while away from the room, but i understand hotel's point of view on this. Never seen the key lock system before where you have to enter the key to energize power in the room and AC. Great idea from the Hotel. Just wish the room would stay cool so when we got back we come in to a cool room vs waiting for it to cool.

We liked everything about our stay, especially the hospitality of the owner Christian, who upon arriving gave us all the information we needed for our stay. Furthermore, the hotel is located in the center of Amalfi, 2 minutes away from Duomo di Amalfi, the main bus stops and the ferry. The breakfast was served on the top terrace with a wonderful view of the mountains and a fair amount of choices. To sum it up, everything was better than we excepted.
Nothing to complain about.

The location is great. The property was ok for our needs (only one night stand), however, if you are staying more i would recommend a room with windows. The host was really nice.
The bathroom was clean, however, the bedroom should be slighly improved - i would have changed the sheets because seem quite old and i would improve the floor cleaning.

Booked for one night but at the end we extended for 2 more. Hotel is perfectly ubicated in Amalfi's center. As we were the first guests we've got a free upgrade to the best room which was big and clean and plus point there was heating. Big thanks to Christian the owner, a really simpthatic and welcoming host who explained and recommended us things to do. Grazzie mille!

Great location, helpful host.
No breakfast in the winter, not even a tea bag in the room, though a kettle was available.
