About this house rental

Our Island House is at the end of a private beach peninsula offering various views of the Gulf of Mexico, river side, lighted fishing dock & surrounding area. Here you won’t deal with traffic or a crowded beach. To the west, after watching the breathtaking coral sunsets over the water you can see the glistening lights of the gulf coast casinos. The front balcony faces the beach with additional views of the Gulf. From our large back balcony you can enjoy the view of our fishing dock, fire pit seating area and surrounding marsh. The kitchen has a double oven, 6 burner gas stove with griddle. We also have a built-in water purification system. The back balcony runs the entire length of the house. On one side of the back balcony is a screened in porch with a large outdoor dining table. The hot tub is at the other end of the balcony just outside of the master bedroom. We have a large master suite with a huge adjoining bathroom including a Jacuzzi tub, oversize glass shower, double sinks and private toilet. The Crews Quarters has 2 sets of “hanging” bunk beds, a futon with a plush comfortable mattress & smart tv. The 3rd bedroom facing the beach has a queen size bed. At ground level is our tiki bar “The Man Overboard” and gaming area. Gaming includes a pool table, ping pong, corn hole, darts, croquet, horseshoes and more. We have free (fiber optic) wi-fi. The historic town of ocean springs is nearby with many quaint shops, restaurants and art galleries. It was one of the ten finalists in Coastal Living Magazine's 'American's Happiest Seaside Towns 2015'. In 2021 it was named one of the friendliest cities in the Nation! If you decide to hang around the beach during your stay, there’s an endless list of things to do. You can fish from the beach or sit on our dock and throw out a line. We also provide several crab traps and a large pot for boiling your catch! Crabbing from our dock is a 24/7 experience. We provide 2 kayaks & paddles. For some exercise & adventure you can arrange for Amanda at 'Paddles Up' to deliver paddle boards right to the house. Or you can contact Captain Mike (our local favorite) for a boating tour to nearby Horn Island for some exploring, or a fishing excursion. He offers various options. The Island House sits just across the narrow road from our private beach (not directly on the beach) and backs up to the river/marsh side, so you’re not limited to just beach activities. Visitors return to this area year after year. Once you discover the beauty, nature and peace we offer.....we know you'll get hooked too!

Had a really good time with friends and family in this gorgeous, spacious house. The views from the house and on the beach were breathtaking. Kids never got bored. It was pretty neat to catch our own crabs right in the back yard. There was soo much to do. I would definitely go back in a heartbeat.

The privacy of this wonderful vacation beach house is a rare find, and exactly what we were looking for! There was so much to do between the beach, game room, hot tub, and crab trapping that we really never wanted to leave the place! The hosts were exceptional and responsive to all of our inquiries. Everything was spotless and the whole place was welcoming! If you’re looking for a non-touristy beach vacation for your family, then this place will not disappoint!

The house was so beautiful! It was clean, and the outdoor gaming area was a HUGE hit with the whole family! You're secluded, so there's plenty of privacy and quiet. The private beach was quite a treat, the only issue being that the water was pretty yucky, and there are no shells or anything to be found. There were, however, more crabs than you can shake a stick at, which delighted the kids to no end. My one piece of advice would be to make sure to bring bug spray, because those biting things were no joke! A small price to pay for the little slice of paradise away from the hustle and bustle. You're also fairly close to so many fun things to do and see. Christina was very easy to work with, and we would recommend her place to friends and family. Thanks for the memories!!

This was a great grand finale to our trip. The hostess was very responsive to any questions we had. A pleasant surprise was the welcome message with a bottle of wine and a list of local places to shop, eat, and explore. My husband, our chef, cooked the most wonderful fresh fish in the kitchen. The layout of the home gave us all a place to be together and enjoy our time. We all laughed when we saw a small thing of bug repellant provided by the host, but we quickly understood the need. The outdoor recreation area provided our family of five lots of laughter and memories. There were a lot of thoughtful choices in the layout. We slept well and enjoyed our stay and the drive to and from this location.

Overall property is very nice. Only a few complaints, the air conditioner was having trouble keeping the house cool. Contacted owner and she did everything possible to help. We cooked all our meals at the house so many of the pots really need to be replaced. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the property and our weekend stay.

House is beautiful! From one clean freak to many others, it’s always a little terrifying booking based on pictures but this place did not disappoint! Our beach dream got rained out but the screened porch and covered play area saved us! Stove is a chef’s dream with lots of gas burners and griddle! Only thing missing was a good snuggle couch blanket so bring your own and book this house!

Three things really mattered to us, were a norma family from Minnesota, this house was clean, Big deal. That starts a vacation. Second, the activities were great, catching “”big grabs and redfish off the beach were awesome. And third, dog friendly, we have spot on fence, And it worked well. That was important for us. Over all, we’re home and still smiling.

It was another fantastic stay at the Island House. The weather was not ideal but there is so much to do in and around the house that we always had something fun to keep us occupied. The kids really enjoyed the beach and all of the games (and the super fast Wi-Fi). Christina makes the whole process really easy and always makes sure we have everything we need. We’re looking forward to coming back!

The home was absolutely perfect! The kids were never bored with all the games in the game room! The beach is a short walk across the road, the sunsets were beautiful. We had a great time, the host was very helpful, and the home was as advertised!

There is plenty to do without even leaving the property. We fished, caught crabs in the trap, enjoyed the beach across the street, enjoyed the rec room with ping pong, pool, darts, corn hole, and a tiki bar. Hot tub off the master with access from the screened porch. Dauphin Island was a huge hit, as was The Shed - BBQ and Blues. The home is tastefully decorated and very clean - super comfy beds and a wonderful kitchen. Screened in porch overlooking a fire pit and the path to the canal where we caught blue crab and fished. Highly recommend!

My family and I have always stayed in hotels but thought we’d try a beach house this year instead. We were drawn to Christina’s home because of everything it had to offer and I am so happy we booked! The photos don’t do the property justice, it was amazing and made our vacation perfect! The lower patio was the perfect hang out spot, with steps to the canal where we caught crabs and steps away from her beach access where many sandcastles and beach sunset memories were made. We will be back to enjoy this slice of heaven again.

Pictures accurately reflect the property. If you want a beach with lots of people, this is not what you are looking for. We loved having it pretty much to ourselves. Never done crab traps but were very successful in the backyard waterway. Would recommend Yard Guard type product.

Our family of 6 adults thoroughly enjoyed everything this property has to offer including quiet location with private beach, kayaking, games, hot tub, abundant wildlife, beautiful sunsets. We also brought our own bicycles. Plenty of space for everyone. Highly recommend after dark trip to beach to see the ghost crabs.

Wow, what an amazing time we had at the Island House! Located at the end of a 3 mile long peninsula, the house and property provided a great deal of privacy and seclusion, but surrounded by other homes, you didn't feel alone. Close enough to the city of Ocean Springs and its many amenities, you avoid the crowds but still have easy access to anything you may need. The house is clean and comfortable (some of the most comfy beds we've ever had in a rental home). Well stocked kitchen, hot tub, many games and activities under the house for all ages. We really enjoyed that the home backs to a river (for fishing/kayaking) and then is just a short jaunt across the street to the private beach. We caught lots of crabs in the river (crab pots provided) and fish from the beach (fishing gear not included). It truly is a spectacular location; Peaceful and quiet, surrounded by nature. *For those that may worry - no snakes or gators were seen, just an armadillo and some pesky raccoons. :) We've rented many vacation homes over the years and our family of 6 all agreed, this was one of the best. Communication with the owner was excellent! She was quick to respond to any questions we had, just a quick text away. We made a ton of great memories together - our only regret is that we didn't book the house for 2 weeks instead of 1! So much to do and explore, would go back in a heartbeat!!

End of the road Margaritaville Hangout…Set up nicely for 2 couples & their kids. Plenty to do downstairs for families in the “tiki area”. Short walk across the street to quietly sit & look at the gulf from the flip-flop garden spot. Then a few more steps to the beach. The town of Ocean Springs has shops & restaurants. A unique bbq place to go is The Shed (not in the town, but close enough). The lights of Biloxi to the west, from the upstairs at night was a cool view too.
