Quiet location despite being close to the main town
1. The narrow uphill road leading to the hotel not easily visible if coming by car
2. Buffet breakfast area is kinda small which can get congested even with 15-20 guests

Luxury stay! The views from the hotel lobby and room were incredible! Great breakfast, the staff went above and beyond, they even helped me book a massage at a local Thai massage parlor that I chose.

The room was absolutely gorgeous with a view of the lake and tatami style beds on the floor. this included an open-air tub and shower. breakfast, tea and happy hour were also included and were all superb. we stayed in Japan for a month and this was by far the best place that we stayed. we had some rainy periods but also had a beautiful day that the sky cleared and all of mt. fuji was visible.
the hotel is up on a hill that provides great views but the only negative was getting up and down the hill. We saw this in other reviews but went into it anyway. The hotel will provide transportation up and down the hill if requested. there is a road/path that goes along in front of the hotel that will take you to another part of fujikawaguchiko. it means walking further if you just want to get down the hill but it is a better walk. the inconvenience of the hill is worth the stay.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft mit tollem Blick auf den See. Überraschenderweise gab es kostenloses Frühstück sowie eine Teatime und ein leichtes Abendessen mit Drinks. Und das Personal war sehr freundlich

Everything at Rakuyu was fantastic. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The whole place is beautiful... from the rooms to the hot springs. The food is also delicious.

Fantastic views, outstanding service. Lovely onsen. Really enjoyed stay.
The hotel is up a steep hill, which is fantastic for views. If you are fit, going up and down is ok though. There is a shuttle service you can use.
Our stay was fantastic and I would recommend this as an awesome hotel.
However, booking.com needs to explain that dinner and breakfast must be booked in advance of arrival.

Clean, comfortable room with good view of the lake. Superb service from the hotel staff. The breakfast was good
Only japanese 2-pin power points in the room. There was no USB port. We were lucky to have a adapter to charge our phones

The private onsen was great. Reasonable price for good views and tidy clean spacious room. It was a super pleasant stay.
Just have to get used to the small road driving up to the hotel during the stay

Why is booking.com asking me to review this property when I can't find this hotel in booking.com? I'm not sure if Rakuyu Hotel has blocked me in the system? If true, it would be very rude to me. It's the first hotel in Japan and it's the first time I've seen something like this in Japan in 8 years ago. Kindly check...😭😭 and once more things.i had an issue with this hotel about onsen.I wanted to reserve a private onsen room with the hotel.but staff told me that today full,I asked how about tomorrow, staff told me full again. I stay here only 1 night, what do you think I have to do? you should offer customer other options like,," right now the hotel very busy,if you don't mind how about 10 pm.11 pm or tomorrow after check out,I would like to suggest you to improve the service. anyway that day when I started get angry staff allowed me onsen. but the peak and the big point is I can't find this hotel in booking.com system anymore. it's ok, I have many hotel there are nice to me and welcome me. this is the first experience in 8 year in Japan.

The hotel staff was really warm and attentive. The facility is clean and has good ambience. We really enjoyed the onsen bath and lobby with excellent view of the lake. We are especially appreciative of the hotel manager booking a taxi to Yoshida 5th station so we could summit Mt Fuji in a day. Best part of our whole trip and feels like home during the time of our stay.

The view from the room was fantastic. Meals were excellent with a unique menu and lots of care put into each dish. Probably the best ryokan meal I've had.
The location is great for the views, but access to the surrounding areas is limited due to the fact that it's located up a very steep hill. Not easy to just go out for a walk.

beautiful view, great location, great staff, private onsen available
tatami mats had a weird smell

The view was awesome from the room that I was given. It overlooked the lake and on the weekend there were fireworks. The onsen was facing the lake and the windows opened up.
The room was alright. The small refrigerator was just cold enough to keep the small thing cool. The road up to the hotel is steep and only large enough for one car and to turn on the road it takes a two-point turn.

Love it they were waiting for us outside, and the reception at all, including valet parking.
Went with my wife marriage 2nd anniversary and birthday. Must try the Private bath everyday.
I can’t tell. I went with relax mentality.
