Cheap and cheerful in a great location

Really nice rooftop area to enjoy the sunshine! Staff were kind and kept our bags overnight while we did the colca canyon for free. They also allowed us to check in early. Excellent location, close to the main plaza.

Breakfast very basic - just bread jam and coffee. Beds not very comfortable and shower was cold.

La amabilidad del personal. El día de salida nos guardaron las mochilas todo el día ya que cogíamos un bus por la noche. Nos invitaron a usar las zonas comunes para que hiciéramos tiempo hasta que saliera el bus.

El baño compartido y la cocina podría estar más limpia.

Personnel super et emplacement au top

- Le personnel est super sympa et arrangeant - nous avons pu laisser nos affaires gratuitement avant de prendre un bus de nuit - L'espace est agréable avec les chambres sur le toit qui se mêlent à l'espace de coliving (il y en a à l'étage du dessous aussi) - Cuisine, frigo, gazinière, bouilloire et micro ondes à disposition - Petit déjeuner basique (pain, beurre, confiture) mais qui a le mérite d'être là - Grande chambre - Emplacement incroyable : 2 minutes à pieds de la plaza de armas Axes d'amélioration suggérés : ajouter des crochets dans la salle de bain pour accrocher les affaires + les numéro de chambres sur les clés, ça fait des échardes...

first of all the host , guy was AWESOME. we travel around for years and never met so friendly and helpful man like him. Location of the hostel - superb , just 2 minutes to the main square .

you won’t get a better deal in the city center

more than what I could ask for, especially at that price. right in the city centre, walking distance from main square, comfy and spacious room with an open patio with tables, chairs, sofas and view where you can eat drink and relax. Daniel the owner is very helpful, constantly available and very easy to get along with. shared kitchen available. super recommended.

Great hostel just unfortunate about all the noise

Central location, cool vibe, use of the kitchen was useful and outdoor area was nice. Staff were great too

Impossible to sleep. with it being so central there was loud thumping music all night long from Beth close by

Exceptional

Great location within walking distance to everything we needed. The staff are friendly. The shared bathrooms are really clean and you're not stuck for one to use. The terrace is really nice and the breakfast that was included was also great. They also let us leave our bags for a few days for our trek to colca canyon and there are lockers to lock items away. We ended up booking to come back because we really liked it.

The pillows in both of our rooms were lumpy and appeared old, they could do with replacing.

A good price-performance ratio: - Very good location - Very charming place, nice view - Clean rooms - A lot of activities can be booked - Ecological place (solar energy) - Everything inside (kitchen, bathrooms) etc

Some incompetent staff - Disappointed with the staff. Some were very nice, but other staff who were incompetent. There is a person at the reception who forgot to register us for the next day's activity, we had to get up at 5:30 a.m. so that in the end we understood that we were not registered for the tour and that we did not couldn't do it (even though we had paid). The staff that morning didn't really look for a solution and didn't seem to care much. - Wi-Fi didn't work that much - because of solar energy, shower were cold at night (but we were informed)

Disappointed

The hostal situation

The weird atmoshere present there. Everyone who works there just ignore you and doesn't invite you to stay longer. On top of this, the showers are cold, and the breakfast is very disappointing. I do not recommend to stay more than a night, very bad experience.

Can't argue with that price

At Peter's Hostel the staff were super friendly. Everyone said hi and we had pleasant conversations, and they also helped us book a rafting tour. The room itself was comfortable and the location was right in the center of town. We were uncertain about booking a place with a shared bathroom, but the facilities were kept very clean.

At night, there was quite a lot of loud music, although that's not really the fault of the hostel. The rooms didn't have a ton of space to put baggage on so my stuff had to be left on the floor. Overall, small things could be better but can't argue with the price.

frustrated… to not have stayed longer

Lovely rooftop, I spent amazing times here with dormitories roommates and the staff that were all super nice ! Always happy to give you advice 1 block from Plaza de Armas

Wifi was a bit spotty, getting warm water in the shower a delicate operation.. But, we nonetheless enjoyed our stay a lot and if we came back to arequipa would be choosing peters

Great location but nothing special

Excellent location close to the main square. Staff spoke basic English. Luggage storage possible. Wifi worked well in contrary to other comments.

Room very basic, cold, noisy, and not very clean. Kitchen very unclean. Hot shower only during the day. Did not want to pack us breakfast to go (we left early for the Colca canyon tour) even though some other comments stated they do it.

Do not stay here.

Location is reasonable - not fantastic.

They forced us to pay in USD (the booking said payment in PEN). They wouldn't help us arrange a taxi to the airport (all hotels in Peru will do this). Several bathroom fixtures are broken and breakfast is poor.

Cheap price for an excellent location in Arequipa

Excellent location a short walk to Plaza de Armas and it surrounded by shops and restaurants. I arrved at 5:30 in the morning and I can check in to my room. Marco and the rest of the staff were so helpful and friendly. For the price it is worth it, but don’t expect some luxury because it doesn’t exist at Peter’s Hostel. The free wifi works good in the morning and early hour in the evening. They have luggage storage as well if you want to take a few days trip to Colca Canyon.

It’s winter during my visit in Peru. The private room is very cold but you get extra thick blankets. They should put a small light on the table and a closet to hang the clothes. No hot water early in the morning and in the evening as they used solar for heating. The door is always closed so if you want to go outside someone has to open the door otherwise you can’t get out. The staircase to the reception can be annoying for people who traveled with suitcases and if you book a private room, you will have to take more stairs because the rooms are located on the top of the bulding.

Amazing hostel!

Nice room. Comfy beds. Kept very clean. Very nice roof terrace. Tranquil hostel. Very kind and helpful staff. Hot shower. Close to plaza shops and mercado.
