Elevation was a little hard on us as we're all over 70 years of age, but we all loved the cabin, location and views. All slept well after the first night -- always tough when traveling. We all say: "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

It was wonderful! This is the 3rd time we've had our bi-annual reunion there. The scenery is fabulous, with deer coming into the yard at night and in the morning. The cabin is well stocked with bedding, towels, kitchen supplies and refrigerator space. We took a short trip to the river and did some hiking from the cabin. The gas fire table on the balcony was perfect for Smores. The hummingbirds are a joy to watch. The cabin was clean and well stocked, and we hope to come back again. Communication with the property manager was fabulous as well.

We loved this cabin!! We had a small wedding ceremony here and it was incredible. The picutres do not do it justice! The ceremony site was beautiful with the wildflowers around (which was our theme so it was perfect). We didn't even need decorations! The house was.prrfect and there was plenty of space. We will be back for sure. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay overall. The upstairs was a little hot the first evening, but the weather cooled off for the remainder of our time and we had a blast. The cabin fit our lat large family well and we enjoyed our stay. The pool cues were not very good, but everything else was great! We had plenty of room to set up yard games, enjoyed roasting hot dogs ands s'more's in the fire pit. Loved watching deer wander through the area and hummingbirds snack outside the windows. It was a great family vacation spot.

This was a wonderful location for our family reunion. The accommodations were comfortable for everyone from Grandma and Grandpa, to the teenagers, down to the 1 year old baby. We loved the various living spaces for people to spread out. The acreage surrounding the house is gorgeous! This was exactly what we wanted, and we would stay here again.

This was our fourth year staying and I think it just gets better each time. This place is amazing...clean, welcoming, comfortable. I just can't say enough and it's the reason we'll be booking for next year again.
The house is close or within a day trip of some of the best national parks, Telluride, whatever you want to do. And coming back to such a comfy place to relax for the night, make dinner, just hang out with family and friends...while you sit on the deck to soak in the beauty...is PRICELESS!
There's so much room and everyone has their own space with all the amenities they need. The kitchen just gets more and more stocked each year with whatever you'd need to make amazing large meals for all staying.
We have a group of 8, with a dog, and MORE than enough room. But we book this house because it's spread out, nobody on top of one another. One person can go sit on the deck and read, while others hike and maybe just sit at the fire table. Wildlife is abundant during our stay and the hummingbirds are by the 100s!
I'll never be able to say enough about the place. It feels like our annual home away from home now. OH, and Anna the property manager is always amazing (even if we just text due to an unexpected power outage). She always goes ABOVE AND BEYOND.
Now, before everyone reads this review and hurries to reserve...I need to get on and book my dates for next year...because we're always coming back!! :)
THANK YOU for another great year!

Beautiful property with lots to do in the surrounding area. We were up here for our wedding! Bad weather and unforeseen circumstances resulted in us having to pivot our plans for a ceremony at the ceremony site, but the location has plenty of options for backup plans for a ceremony. We ended up doing the ceremony on the porch near the gas fire pit and it worked out amazing!
During our stay there was an emergency fire resulting in down power lines. As a result we had no power for a day, but the house is more than equipped for this. The property manager was very responsive and let us know where all the back up water and flashlights were. Each floor also had a fireplace and the house is equipped with more than enough firewood.
Despite the unforeseen complications due to Mother Nature our group had a great time! Would definitely come back to this place.

We were so happy with our stay! The house was very comfy and well appointed. It was well stocked with everything we needed- pots, pans, dishware, paper towels, laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, etc. I have stayed at other rental houses that supply a very limited amount of these items, so I appreciated having enough to last our whole trip.
As you can tell from the photos, this is a great house for a large group. We had plenty of space. The large dining table was big enough to seat our full group of 11 people for Thanksgiving dinner (and we could have sat more people at the adjacent counter stools in the kitchen). The house is not modern and shows plenty of signs of wear, but everything was functional.
The best part about the rental is the outdoor space. We had several kids who loved climbing in the tree house, playing in the stick fort, sledding down the hills, exploring the wedding venue, and watching turkeys visit the yard.
Our group was not there for a wedding, but I can say that I would highly recommend the rental as a wedding venue! Very picturesque and the benches and wedding arch seemed perfect for an outdoor wedding.
Thank you!

We had our wedding here a year ago and just came back to celebrate our first anniversary with family and friends. Could not recommend this cabin and property manager “more highly”. We love staying here and hope to make it an annual trip for our family.

This was an amazing place to stay and get married, especially the second week of October. The cabin gave an amazing view to see the leaves change and in full color. They also stocked it very well overall. The wedding site was also incredible, the walk up was absolutely stunning and my favorite part! Maybe if you’re nervous about driving in the mountains any, walk up/down the driveway and it’ll make you feel better :) besides the driveway the drive there was absolutely perfect and not intimidating at all for those of us from the flat lands.

My now husband and I chose this cabin for our intimate wedding with our immediate family and closest friends, and could not be more happy with our stay!!
We had 22 people staying in the cabin for 5 days, and had 38 total at the wedding, and there was plenty of room for everyone! The ceremony site was out of this world with colors and completely stunning - it even rained a day or two before the wedding day and was perfectly fine getting up there luckily! We took three cars back and forth to get everyone up to the ceremony site on wedding day.
The house is STOCKED with more than we thought - toilet paper, towels to shower with, so much coffee! etc., and had tons to use in the kitchen as well. The wifi was good enough to receive text messages, but phone calls were pretty spotty. For a wedding weekend, we were totally okay with that - but a work trip probably would be tough!
The only "downfall" if you want to call it that, is the night of the wedding the septic tank over filled and we had to call the property manager to take care of it. They came out super quick even being late at night, and completely fixed the problem along with cleaning the basement for us! Outstanding service and we're so grateful this didn't interrupt our wedding fun!
We highly recommend this cabin for your intimate wedding or just a family fun weekend! So much to explore and just amazing views in the backyard, we are so happy with everything!!

We stayed here for a week in August during a family reunion. We had 27 people including 15 children. It was spacious and comfortable enough for all of us, it had plenty of room for all our food (3 refrigerators), and we really enjoyed being here. The weather felt nice enough to be outside, and it was quiet and secluded. There are neighbors but you don’t really hear or see them. We enjoyed watching the deer, hummingbirds, and chipmunks that show up around the property. There is even a small tree house in the woods where the kids enjoyed playing.
If you plan to come with small children, be advised:
The pictures are a little deceiving; the area is not as flat as the pictures make it look. There are steep drop offs and the house is on a hill. You pretty much have to supervise the children the whole time they are outside.
Also, maybe it was in the listing, but if not, there is no air conditioner. The temperature is much lower in the mountains so it was cold at night and in the early mornings. But the afternoons can get pretty warm. It wasn’t unbearable, but outside was sometimes cooler than inside.

This cabin has so much space! It's fully stocked and beautifully decorated! The views are breathtaking, the air is fresh and just what we needed!
We rented the wedding site as well for our small mountain wedding and it was absolutely perfect! Parking is limited but we shuttled guests up the driveway from the pull out at the bottom and everything went great! We hope to come back for vacations in the future!

For folks looking for an intimate wedding experience this location is great. We slept ~25ish people and had multiple beds to spare.
The wedding site does require driving for elderly guests. The road up is a little dusty so it's ideal to drive up, but multiple folks walked up so it's doable if people aren't super concerned.

This was a great mountain retreat. It had enough space for all the family and had adequate supplies for everyone. We all enjoyed our time there.

House was in a wonderful location and close to other tourist spots, sound of the stream was soothing and loved watching the humming birds, kids had a great time playing outside and they enjoyed spending time around the fire pit. Property was clean and well stocked. One suggestion for the owner, in the basement where the carpet joins the tile, nails were poking out, and I stepped on one of them.

The property was better than the photos! It was so comfortable with plenty of space for everyone to spread out and was stocked with everything we needed from outdoor games to pantry staples, laundry soap, and more! We especially enjoyed the hummingbirds, the heated deck, fire pit and the wedding site was beautiful!

Everything about this place was amazing. The property manager was great and always answered my questions right away. The place was so peaceful and breathtaking. The town of Dolores was very friendly. And watching the wildlife was calming. We can’t wait to book this property and stay there again ❤️🥰

This was our third stay at the property and I still can't say enough about it. It's always clean, comfy and the best place to stay in the mountains. The property owners are very communicative and again, Anna, the manager, is always there when needed; friendly and more than helpful.
The river was at the highest we'd ever seen and made for great ambiance/sound sitting on the deck. Every morning there were deer in the yard to watch and this year's bonus was the hummingbird feeders were up and we must have had 50 of them buzzing around all day. Just beautiful. I could sit out there all day and do nothing! But there's so many things close to see and we did a day trip to Arches National Park and Silverton this year.
Already looking into dates for next year and will always be our go-to when visiting such a beautiful and amazing part of Colorado. We can't recommend this place enough!

We rented this cabin for our small mid-April wedding made up of 16 people total and the space was perfect. We had plenty of rooms and the cabin is so big that it never felt crowded, even after caterers and photographers showed up. Everything was exactly as described and more. Anna went above and beyond to ensure that we were updated on the local weather conditions so we could plan for the ceremony. Because of the muddy conditions, we weren't able to use the ceremony site, instead we married in front of the fire pit in the backyard and it was gorgeous. Due to the location, we were worried that it would be difficult for everyone to find, but with Anna's detailed pictures it was easy to find; no one had any issue. This cabin made our dream wedding come to fruition. We highly recommend the space!

Our family group of 13 and dogs had an excellent stay. Kitchen and dining table area was great for everyone to share, cook, eat, and play games in. The deck was were I spent most of my time personally, enjoying coffee in the am, the a cocktail in the evening. All other areas and bedrooms are more than enough for the entire group (and more) to spread out and do their own things if desired. We would definitely stay here again!!

We had an amazing time. The cabin was so roomy and had so many beds! The kitchen was very well equipped for cooking for large groups. The temperature was as low as 6 degrees but we were always warm and toasty inside the well insulated cabin with 3 warm fireplaces fully stocked with plenty of wood! Also, the outdoor fire pit had a covered stack of wood nearby so we had a fire and made s’mores. Of course, they had s’mores marshmallow poles ready to go on site. There are three living areas- plenty of room for people to spread out if needed. The views will absolutely amaze you. The front windows look out upon a mountain side. There are board games, dvds, books, magazines, sleds… everything you need. Even a pack and play for those with a baby.
If you go during the winter, definitely have 4WD for the driveway or tire chains.

This was definitely a great experience the snow was amazing the house fit all 14 of us perfect. The driveway a little scary but we survived 😂. But OMG the view that we had was just amazing. Eating at that dinning room table and look out that window was just breathtaking. Definitely will be back in the summer.

The property was awesome. Beautiful. And the snow was perfect for kids and most adults to sled and tube. Cabin was more than ample for our 20 folks. Kids and adults played games. Not so much on phones. Lol. The manager Anna went above n beyond helping when my tires lost grip on the driveway. The driveway will give one a 0 pucker factor the first time and if you happen to lose traction and leave one wheel hanging over the edge, everything tightens up a bit. Lol. Just added to our adventures and memories. Four wheel drive or snow socks for tires on two wheel drives are recommended by me.

Location offered the seclusion we were looking for. We had a big crew and the rooms worked well to accommodate all the families and the age ranges.
The water for the facility is supplied by spring that slowly keeps the 3k gallon tanks filled. We never had an issue with supply although we were mindful and creative with how we consumed water. The only thing that didn't work the best was the kitchen faucet. We think some mineral deposit hindered the flow which made for a slow dish washing experience. The manager did offer to send the maintenance man to look at it but we declined as it did not concern us enough to bother the maintenance man to come when it could be addressed later.
Anna, the property manager, was clear on communication and prompt when we had a question.
Some of our party thought that the listing could have been more detailed about the contents of the kitchen in terms of pots and pans. The lodge was well stocked with toilet paper and towels. Plenty of fridge and freezer space. There are two fridges/freezers down below on the lowest level ( plus a whole 'nother kitchen ).
The kids enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor fireplaces. The owners provide plenty of wood for both.
As the owner will say if you decide to come here, be prepared for the driveway. I liked it. Most of us had 2x4 vehicles and we made it just fine but we had favorable weather conditions during our stay.
Basically a great place.

We love it here! 2nd time was just as amazing as the 1st. Everything you need available at the house and plenty of room for everyone. Guests of all ages in our group loved it. Anna the manager is extremely helpful and communicative! Hope to return again thank you!

Better than we could have ever expected, the property manager was top notch as well. We are already planning another trip for our anniversary next year. (Beware of Durango Party Rental for Weddings)
6.0 / 10.0
The water pressure was nil, not even enough to run the dishwasher. We did finally get to use the clothes washer and shower as long as it was only one faucet at a time, if anyone ran another tap or even flushed the toilet it was all over. Other than that the place was ok.
10.0 / 10.0
If we could give 6 stars we would! Anna was SO helpful leading up to the wedding. She responded quickly with information and suggestions. She even held onto packages for us and had them at the house for us upon arrival. We had travel issues and she remained flexible with us!
We had a total of 32 people staying on the property and we all had beds to sleep on. The attic was a little uncomfortable at night due to heat/doors closed not allowing good air flow but there were a couple fans in the house to help!
Everything here is well stocked and taken care of.
The town is close enough for anything you might need and is quite friendly with some good restaurants and coffee. We hope to return and stay again!
10.0 / 10.0
We brought 37 people to stay and this place was fabulous!! Plenty of room for all to sleep and play and fellowship. The cabin is remarkably well equipped - even 2 coffeepots, perfect for our large group!!
The multiple living spaces made it easy to have fellowship on the main floor and the kids could spread out their toys upstairs, while others shot pool in the basement and conversation flowed on the deck.
Speaking of....we especially enjoyed the deck. There were regularly people gathered there for chats, and the propane fire table was a favorite. The hummingbirds were immensely entertaining!!
We also enjoyed hiking up to the little wedding/gathering area - the wildflowers were beautiful!
We had a couple of issues and the property manager was quick to respond. All in all, we loved our stay and hope to come back!!
