About this house rental
Our vacation home in the Lower Keys awaits your arrival! We live here during the winter so our home is available spring - fall. The gated, community of Venture Out has all of the amenities that you could want for a sunny getaway. Lounge by, and swim in the heated pool or salt water canal. Play pool, ping pong, tennis or pickle ball with family and friends. Gather together a group for a game of bocce. Forgot a "good read"? No worries - we have a well-stocked library. There's a playground as well as a kiddie pool for the little ones in the family. Four adult bikes are provided, with miles of bike paths along the Overseas Hwy. It's an easy bike to Mangrove Mamas for bloodies and brunch or to The Square Grouper for a delicious meal & nightly entertainment. Venture Out is located at MM 23 so if the hubbub, nightlife, and shopping of Key West is your pleasure, you will not have far to drive. Our house is maintained, not as a rental, but as our home, since we do live here during the winter. We have 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and are situated on a 60' canal. You can park your boat at our 35' seawall for easy access to fishing, boating, and sunset sails. The dock is complete with cleats, bumpers, fish cleaning table and swim ladder. Your boat must fit tip to tip with the motor up within the 35'. You will have access to our store room with a bait freezer and area to keep dive and fishing gear. There are 2 covered decks - one facing the street and one facing the water. There is additional seating under the home facing the canal. On the water front you will have outdoor seating on both the upper and lower decks with a gas grill. Our kitchen is completely stocked with everything you could possibly need for a home cooked meal. There are smart TVs in both bedrooms and the living room. WIFI and landline from which to call the USA, Mexico and Canada is provided free of charge. The home sleeps 6 (maximum allowed per Venture Out rules) with a king bed, queen bed and queen sleeper sofa. We speak French and English. Please no pets or smoking allowed. There is a 3 night minimum stay except during Lobster Season which requires a 7 night minimum.
Additional fees:
12.5% tax (5% lodging tax and 7.5% county sales tax), $150 cleaning fee, $75 booking fee, and a non-refundable $45 accidental damage fee. The Venture Out fee, paid at the gate upon arrival, is $125.00 and must be paid by debit or credit card. One vehicle is allowed to park at the home (NO exceptions). There are additional fees for parking an extra car, etc, but there is no guarantee of availability. Our agent has a list of off site parking nearby, for your boat trailer and/or 2nd vehicle. All final reservations will be handled by our on-site agent. Please contact me with any questions you may have.

Beautiful property. Very clean and well stocked with towels and kitchenware. There was a few Karens at the pool but other than that the pool was sparkling clean.

This was our 2nd visit to big blue. A family get together in paradise at a very comfortable, cozy home. Venture out has lots of amenities to enjoy and is close enough to both Key West and Marathon that you can take advantage of the world class fishing available there. Blue boasts a seawall on a deep water canal so you can bring your boat or rent one from nearby marinas to enjoy a day or several on the water. Blue is not just a rental condo, it's a home away from home.

What a nice place to stay. The bed in the master bedroom was extremely comfortable. We had everything we could need in the kitchen. The neighbors were nice. it was very clean. We will definitely stay there again.

PERFECT
No matter what you do in the keys you have fun the most important thing is to have a clean and comfortable place to lay your head with quality beds. Everything that you need was there. My only suggestion would be 2 twins instead of a queen in the second room because sofa beds are never a comfortable option, we left the cushions on and cover it with a sheet and used it as a twin, i have big teenagers, lol. Shelly was very helpful when we needed her assistance. Hope to stay there again soon.

This was a nice community and was conveniently located with an on-site convenience store that did not price gauge. We rented a golf cart that was delivered right on site. To get out with the boat was very easy.

Shelly is an excellent host!
This property was perfect for us! Three adult couples! We brought our boat, launched it at the Venture Out boat ramp and were able to place in the water at Shelly’s boat dock, literally at our doorstep! Not having to load and unload all of our fishing gear each day and not worrying that someone would bother it was fantastic! Venture Out Community was great! The house / property had everything we could possibly need. The house was clean and felt very welcoming! We will definitely be looking to stay here again in the future! I can honestly say that this was one of the first vacations I was able to completely relax. The house was exactly as presented in the VRBO listing. Venture Out is a great community with excellent amenities. Only about a half an hour to Key West. Great places to eat just down the street for breakfast lunch and dinner. Can’t say enough good things about this house, the community, and a much needed vacation and rest.

Great Cudjoe Key Getaway!
Spent a week at Big Blue and enjoyed every minute. The waterfront location is excellent for boating. We spent everyday fishing and diving the waters off Cudjoe. Shelly and the staff at Venture Out were very responsive and friendly to deal with. The home was clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and grilling including spices and condiments. We highly recommend this home and hope to make it an annual trip!

Definitely return-able!
This was a great property for our vacation. The house was well-stocked, the beds were very comfortable, and the location was perfect. The garbage and recycling pick up schedule was a little confusing; they seemed to collect on additional days, but we made sure to get the trash out in time.
We didn't use all the amenities of Venture Out, only the pool which was clean and refreshing. We had planned a lot of other activities and this was a great location for going to both Key West and Islamorada.
The owners were very prompt in responding and accommodating when I asked to extend our stay. They sent me a list of things to do during our vacation, which I really appreciated.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience. Thank you!

Keys time is the best time
We had another wonderful visit to the keys. The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything that we needed. The king sized bed was comfortable as well. We will be back again next year!

At ease on the Key
Big Blue was located conveniently on Cudjoe Key with the popular restaurant, Square Grouper, just around the corner. The home was very comfortable, clean and tidy with nearly all the amenities one needed. Mornings and evenings, when home, were spent overlooking the canal which leads to the Atlantic. We very much enjoyed walking around the quiet neighborhood and observing the nicely landscaped yards, some with silly salt water scenes. Shelly was very easy to work with and communicative. I feel we picked a great place!!

Tidy & Comfortable on the water
The property is a nicely appointed home with everything one would need. Mornings and evenings were enjoyed overlooking the canal that comes off the Atlantic. It's a nice quiet neighborhood and an enjoyable place to walk. Well kept yards and homes, some personally fancied up. The owner was very easy to work with addressing all questions we had. It's a gated community that was very easy to work with and friendly. The restaurant, the Square Grouper, is just around to corner to the south. Key West and Hemingway's house are about 30-40 min to the south. Cudjoe Key is a very central location in the south Keys. We highly recommend a stay at Big Blue!

Big Blue rests on a unique property that, in itself, enables its guests to enjoy the Florida lifestyle and wonderful weather. Swimming, tennis, pickle ball, bike riding, and boating are all within a short walk from most anywhere in its' Venture Out community. Entry to the property is staffed with 24-7 security, providing an added level of comfort, and assistance if needed.
The Big Blue accommodations are VERY clean and comfortable, with all the essentials needed to immediately feel right at home.
We would certainly consider another stay here, should an opportunity to return to the Keys be in our future vacation plans.
