Our weekend at Wairoa Cottage was relaxing and easy. With super comfortable lounges and bed, and lush garden views from every window, enjoying the peace and quiet was easy, as was coming and going to the local town centre and bushwalks. Kim made our stay fuss-free and is a very generous host. This was our second visit and we hope to visit again.

We had a fabulous time. The cottage is well maintained and specious enough for a family of four. It is about 5 min walking distance from Blackheath town centre. We will definitely be coming back when visiting Blackheath again.

Delightful cottage with all we needed to enjoy our weekend stay. Comfy beds, fluffy towels, provisions (revolving pantry), well-equipped kitchen, heating, etc. Fresh flowers added to the enjoyment - and that huge old oak tree out back - wow!

We fell in love with Wairoa Cottage the moment we stepped through the door. Beautifully kept, so clean and comfortable, perfect for our family of four! We will definitely stay again. The only problem is that the pictures on the website just don't capture how awesome the cottage is!!

Fabulous cottage with modern interiors, central heating and a fire. It was raining during our stay but it didn’t really matter as the house is large, warm, cheery and very easy to relax in. Only a 10 minute walk from Blackheath and local walks it’s really well positioned. Appreciated the wine and chocolates and little extras like marmalade and butter. We had a great 5 days and will certainly be back.

We can recommend this nice cottage in Blackheath. It's close to the train station, close to the shops and restaurants. There's a nice bushwalk close as well. The home is very pleasant, comfortable and well maintained.

This is a lovely house owned by hosts who worked hard to see us cosy and happy! Miss 6 enjoyed inspecting all the toys. We all enjoyed the heating and the comfy beds! The renovations have been done really well and it's just a beautiful place to be. Easy walk into Blackheath. We have already been telling other people about this place. :)

Perfect in every way

There was absolutely nothing to fault about this cottage. The extended back kitchen/living area provided lots of airy space, while all was made comfortable and cosy by the central heating. Have never seen such a well-provisioned pantry - so nice not to have to rush out on arrival to sort food requirements. We couldn’t take advantage of the garden because of the rain, but it looked like a lovely place to spend time in better weather. The location was fabulous - walking distance to Blackheath town centre, but quiet and peaceful. And Kim was so obliging throughout the process. Without a doubt the best we’ve stayed in in the mountains.

We had a wonderful stay here. The cottage is super clean, very cosy and contains everything one needs for a comfortable and fun stay. Our children (6 and 4) were delighted with the toys and games and absolutely loved it here - we all did. Close to walks and the centre of town, the cottage is perfectly positioned and an excellent place to stay whatever the season. Greeted with wine and chocolate which was much appreciated. We very much hope and plan to visit again soon! Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay here. The big tree out the back provided a beautiful backdrop from the living areas. We used the fire a lot which warmed us on the cooler evenings. Kitchen well stocked. Location is great. Close drive to shops and all the walks that Blackheath has to offer. We would love to return.

Lovely cottage easy walk to station & shops. Most pleasant outlook over large leafy garden from comfortable sofa. Oval dining table great for home cooked meals & enough room for jigsaw puzzles & Scrabble. Great place to relax after doing the many local bushwalks. Our 2nd visit.

Presents as a lovely, spacious family home not a rental property. Huge space for 2 of us, would be a great space for 4. Close enough to walk to town. Off road parking and in house amenities greatly appreciated.

Our group of 4 have stayed in a lot of places over the years and Wairoa Cottage rates as one of the best. It is well located very clean and the owners have provided everything you could possibly need. Wine and chocolate was a welcome extra.

We had a very comfortable stay at this beautifully restored cottage with our 2 kids. The attention to detail was second to none and the location just perfect for Blackheath, not to mention how pleasant it is to stroll the lovely streets surrounding the home. Thoroughly recommend!

The cottage is much larger than it looks in the photos and is perfect for a family of 4. It’s warm, well furnished and had everything we could need. The chocolate and wine went down a treat! It’s a short walk to Blackheath shops and restaurants and really close to lots of lovely walks and lookouts. A perfect base for a lovely few days in the mountains, would definitely recommend and love to return.
