The breakfast was exceedingly good. The whole place was very clean and the staff were very good. Thank you.

Excellent continental breakfast (fresh rolls etc). Enjoyed evening meal at restaurant at property. Friendly staff. Pleasant sitting areas in lobby and outside.
Room was very nice but quite small.
4.5
Well decorated, clean, friendly staff (helped us out with any problems immediately), good food
Slightly hot in the top floor rooms (not the hotels fault!) could be worth storing fans in the room maybe? Staff were straight on it providing thinner sheets and a thin blanket for the bed. Problem solved within 10 minutes!

Everything was to a high standard, but the hotel was located between the A38 and a major local road thus traffic noise was always there and being summer with the windows open at night there was noise, nothing the hotel could do about it.
the bar and restaurant were excellent, food was beautifully cooked and well presented.
The menu was rather fixed, the only daily change was the soup, however the food was excellent.

Great welcome and the food was excellent. The room was large, clean and has everything I needed
Everything was perfect for me. Very happy with my brief stay and would come back again

Everything was fantastic, a beautiful place to stay. Loved the patio garden! You'd never really know you were next to a busy road
My TV didn't really work

Breakfast never started till 8 which when booking for work meant I could not have it.
Room was quite small considering it was £140 per night.
Shower was poor kept going off.

Lovely breakfast. Very friendly staff.
The bedroom was a single but felt a bit cramped.

Was looking for a place to stay convenient to Totnes & tripped over the Furzeleigh Mill. Pretty & (very) convenient location. My wife loved the room & view, so top marks for me anyway. Dinner was great with the staff in attendance being particularly attentive. Great, hearty breakfast. Everything is just nicely done.

The property was modern and clean.

I think the property has been well conceived. To have fitted 10 rooms ensuite is well thought through. Attractive outside space, little shop and other plans in the pipeline.
Sunday evening meal menu limited.

Good location for the site seeing we were going to do ie Buckfast Abby, the Otter and Butterfly sanctuary and the Buckfastleigh steam railway. great views from windows
slightly slow service from kitchen

Friendly staff, great food, dog friendly - what more could you want for a Bank Holiday weekend away!

The staff were so friendly and helpful at all times, also extremely welcoming of our puppy.
The room we had is quite snug for space but very comfortable

Upon arriving to Furzeleigh, we were surprised by how modern and fresh the building was. It was clearly lovingly restored and updated by the owners and it shows- they have considered how to make it relevant while also pay tribute to it’s past.
Our room -room 4 I think?- looked out over a beautiful magnolia tree with exceptional views of the countryside. While compact, it was comfortable and cosy for our one night stay and I loved how fresh and clean everything was. I will say though- I’m not sure how it is in the summer so it’s worth considering if you’re not great with heat like myself as it did get warm during the night.
The food was surprisingly exceptional- both my partner and I were expecting nice pub grub but what was provided at dinner was par beyond that and exceeded our expectations.
The owners and employees are lovely and welcoming- nothing was too much trouble- and I loved chatting with them about their gin and gin collection.
Finally- be sure to check out the on-site shop that supports local artists and artisans- even if it’s to give the gorgeous dog a scritch behind the ears – but the art is lovely too and we found a fantastic print we love!
Breakfast the morning of departure took over 30 minutes to arrive and we were one of only two people waiting for it!
Had we known it would take so long- we had an engagement elsewhere- we would have simply had some of the continental offering and gone.

We didn’t have breakfast as we had 2 very early starts, but the staff went above and beyond to provide us with breakfast on the go along with drinks and snacks so we didn’t miss out.
The shower wasn’t very powerful, but everything else was absolutely amazing!

Charming boutique hotel in beautiful surroundings, with friendly efficient staff and an excellent restaurant. We had dinner there both nights - and the breakfast was good too!
The rooms were smaller than expected.

Excellent service. Lovely clean and well decorated room. Dinner at the restaurant was top notch as was breakfast.

Lovely friendly, tastefully decorated Inn. Good location for overnight stays, just off the main road, but far enough not to be disturbed by traffic. Lots of plug sockets in room. Really tasty food.
Nothing, was really quiet and can't understand why it wasn't fully booked. A full length mirror in the room would be a useful addition. 1 point dropped only as probably wouldn't score quite so high if it was a holiday rather than business stay, due to limited luxury facilities and proximity to road.

The staff were very warm and welcoming. Lovely house and well-cared for gardens. The robe in the room was incredibly fluffy and cosy, and our room (8) had a very comfy bed. The breakfasts were nice, and vegan options were clearly displayed. The cherry tomatoes were cooked perfectly and were exactly how we all like them. I would thoroughly recommend trying the muesli - it was delicious, and there were freshly made pastries.
I also feel their excellent selection of spirits deserves a mention - over 110 gins!
Just two minor details really - the breakfast was so lovely the only thing that let it down a little was the bread. With so much effort on all other fronts, it would have been excellent to have some sourdough or a proper baker's loaf.
The other small thing we noticed was that the toilet seat in our room often hit the back wall when sat on, which makes a noise as the wall is tile. This could be quickly rectified by using those plastic stickers for doors and cupboards.

Great location, lovely view from our window to wake up to and the staff were incredible; really good service and very kind. The resident dogs were a bonus too, super gentle and made us smile every time we got to pet them :) oh and the provided dressing gowns were a nice touch, made us feel very cosy and at home.
Not much to say here, the bathroom was very small but it wasn’t a huge issue. Little bit noisy at times with other residents coming and going slamming doors but that’s not the property owner’s fault.
