The whole vibe, the location, the friendliness of other travelers, and specially the owner Mo.
Can’t complain.

Good value | good location, walking distance to CBD | Mo, the host, is an absolute gem | functional kitchen | solid WiFi | hot shower | guests were quiet and respectful, and interesting | appreciated opportunity to park motorbike in the driveway | hostel is well worn, fine for experienced hostel travelers; people looking for something shiny may want to stay someplace else | plan to return to the hostel before departing Hobart |

Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt.

Very nice owner (living on site), great location, cheap price. There was a hairdryer in female bathroom, which I appreciated.
Could not sleep all night as the window in my dorm made noise. Very small rooms and common areas, lots of stairs. Many guests seemed to be long term residents. Some beds in our dorm remained unoccupied, even though on Booking.com the hostel seemed fully booked...?

Very noisy at night with doors opening and shutting. Perhaps coz I was placed on the ground floor near the entrance.

The manager, Mo, is very helpful and friendly - The bottom part of my hiking shoes nearly fell out. Mo was very kind to spend efforts to find from his home some glue for repairing my shoes free of charge. I am grateful for his kindness and friendliness.
Mo also allowed us to use the washing machine for a little more time outside the designated hours as we have to leave early the next day. He tried his best to accommodate our requests. Million thanks to Mo!
The accommodation is value for money.
The room is a bit small for putting luggage of 2 persons

Owner is super friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and warm. Great hot water and facilities. Nice little area to sit in out the back. Nice common room and plenty of cooking equipment.
Wifi was really only accessible in the common room - wifi in the room would have been good. Bit expensive for a backpackers but still cheaper than most other options.

Cute little backpackers, located very close to the city centre (less than 10 min walk) Although I only stayed for one night, the facilities were warm and inviting. There's a chill out lounge where you can hang out, charge your phones, use the wifi. A fridge provided to store food and a kitchen available to cook meals. The reviews weren't wrong about the owner, Mo. He was very friendly and accommodating on arrival, eager to help your stay be perfect and pleasing. For those reasons above I'll definitely return to this place!
Nothing really, the place exceeded my expectations

Friendly reception and helpful. We had a large room and could spread out.
The heater was turned on for us.
Rewashed the crockery and cutlery before using it.

Mo goes above and beyond for the comfort of the guest and is very welcoming. Heaters in the room are very helpful in the winter and Mo even went out of his way to put an extra little heater when I was in the common area alone and asked if I wanted it closer to me. The way he takes care of the plants in the living room is another super cute detail that adds a home like feeling to the place. The location is perfect as it was walking distance to the center as well as the Skybus to/from airport and very quiet. The common area feels like a home living room and the kitchen is well equipped although it feels a bit small when there are a few people in there simultaneously but it wasn’t always full. It is also well maintained as there was housekeeping on a daily basis.
Disliked NOTHING. Love this place and Mo is just lovely!

Nothing in particular
I’ve never seen the staff, maybe because I was going out early in the morning and coming in too late. The wi-fi not always was working fine. The secondary access, using an outside staircase, was tricky (no numbers or symbols on the dial)

The owner was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were nice and there were enough toilets and showers. Lots of cooking utensils in the kitchen.
Got a little busy in the kitchen during dinnertime. It isn't that big.

A really friendly hostel. The owner was very kind and the atmosphere between guests was lovely.
The kitchen was a bit small, but it was kept very clean.
