The service was incredible and in a beautiful location. We loved hearing about the history and enjoying this relaxing place.
We loved it all!

Kelburne Estate was the perfect place to land for a couple of days spent exploring the beautiful tea plantations and surrounding areas of Haputhale. The Sunflower Room was delightful and very comfortable with the bonus of a small fridge and microwave. (mind the gold rimmed plates however!) The view was magnificent and the gardeners do a wonderful job maintaining the beautiful garden. Ravi was a very kind and attentive manager and the staff we met were friendly and hard working. We were treated to dinner in our room on our first night, after a long drive. The service was impeccable and the meal very tasty. The cottage was private and peaceful. Make sure you spend a few days to get the most out of the environment and recoup your energy before tackling the hustle and bustle of other towns. We wish we stayed longer! with regard to travel, we had our own Tuk Tuk which was helpful to get to the property. If driving from Arugam Bay, it is recommended to take the road through Ella, minimising time spent on single lane roads shared with buses! The driveway descent into the property is steep and bumpy…but every property in the area is like this so channel your inner mountain goat and enjoy!

Everything about the place was amazing, the entire experience and the service was exceptional. We are definitely coming again for a longer stay .
The WiFi was patchy

Two nights in this beautiful hotel bungalow. A great spot with large views. We were extremely well looked after by Raja. It’s an old fashioned bungalow & very comfortable. Delicious food delivered to our dining room.

The view was fantastic! Easily one of the best places we've stayed at in the hills. Food was amazing and the staff was so friendly warm and welcoming . Will definitely come back !

The room was a stand alone building with an open balcony and bi-folding doors which fully opened to views that can only be described as absolutely amazing, it had a lovely lounge/lichen/dining area with an open fire which was lit for us each night, a separate bedroom and bathroom area of a very high standard and extremely comfortable. Each night the staff would bring our meals to the room and breakfast/lunch was served outside on the balcony to enjoy the incredible view.
There was no aspect of our stay we did not enjoy

The quality of service, particularly from Ravi and his team was just spectacular. Extremely responsive, proactive with suggestions and always pleasant - we would come back here just for Ravi!
The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable - particularly when it got cold in the evening, the fireplace was exactly what we needed - someone was always available to ensure it was running :)
The location is beautiful - gorgeous views from the cottage across the forests and some mountains. Clear view of sunrise and sunsets - very peaceful and quite !
And finally, probably the biggest highlight - the food!! Freshly cooked based on what you order with options across local Sri Lankan and Continental cuisines- it was always on point ! The first night, after a gruelling travel day the string hoppers, the curries, the sambol and the dessert was like a warm, long hug!
The access to the cottages is difficult for a driver but they don't provide drivers accommodation so our driver had to go all the way back to the town to find a place.

Excellent location with wonderful views. Ideal place for a very relaxing holiday. Being a separate cottage gave us all the privacy we could wish for. Very well appointed and spacious cottage (Wildflower). The whole cottage, including the very spacious bathroom was clean and well maintained. Excellent personal service from Rajah, and the chef. All staff we dealt with were friendly and accommodating. We had all three meals there during our two nights stay. The food was very tasty and in substantial quantities. One issue to take note of is that due to the location of our particular cottage there was no WiFi. However, WiFi could be accessed when we went up close to the level where the reception office was. It wasn't a big issue for us. All in all our party of four enjoyed immensely the stay at Kelburne Mountain View Cottages.
Nothing particular to mention.

Kelburne is honestly unmissable. The views are extraordinary- you can see of 100s from the escarpment and each room has its own private balcony. The service is probably the best you’ll find in Sri Lanka. We stayed in Sunflower cottage and were looked after by the super attentive and friendly Raja and his helpers. Dinner and breakfast were served privately in our cottage and fresh fires were light each evening. Nothing was too much bother. Raja showed us the beginning of a couple of walks (the one downhill below the tea plantation and to the left at sunset was unforgettable for its peacefulness) - for the discerning traveller, ignore Ella and just hang out at Kelburne. I really advise all to find time to stay here.
Everything was perfect to be honest.
