Good central location
The price for two nights was excessive, and I can only assume that was because John Bishop was on that weekend.
4.1
Helpful staff at reception. Very good location. Comfortable beds and included mini fridge was a plus. Loved that bathroom window sills gave us additional counter space.
Only one elevator which took a while to access and towel warmer was not working. Other than that, the stay was great.
4.1
Comfortable bed, walking distance from everything we needed and wanted to do over the long weekend. The staff were friendly and helpful, on eof.the ladies on reception went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay.

Breakfast was excellent. Location is ideal for Edinburgh sightseeing.
Staff were unhelpful. They had building works ongoing which was not communicated to us, this led to the cocktail bar not being open (one of the reasons we wanted to stay there). Drinks could be served in the restaurant, however when we went there at 6pm (no tables were being used for dining) we were offered a seat in the entrance lobby to have our drinks. We complained at reception who apologised but did nothing to resolve the issue. So we went to the Balmoral Hotel where we were welcomed with open arms.....

I thought breakfast was excellent .. with a variety of delicious choices.
The dining room was beautiful with spectacular views.
Only one small thing. The muesli was kept in a large jar with the scoop inside the jar for guests to help themselves. I would have preferred the scoop not to be kept in the jar after being handled by guests.

The location is fantastic, the staircase was a favourite, the view from the bar is great. The room was a good size, bathroom decent with a nice waterfall shower. The bed was extremely comfy. There's a lift handy if the staircase isn't your cup of tea.
The only thing if I had to pick something would be the bathroom did steam up quite quickly even with the window open.

4.1
Location fabulous, bar staff very friendly.
Man on reception possibly the manager? Extremely patronising, very rude. Made comments about the size of the room saying that it was bespoke and not just a premier inn. Presuming I stayed in premier inns normally. We booked a large double bed and we’re given a double in the attic. Not good enough, we had heard the gentleman in front of us complaining about the same thing.

Excellent breakfast, great location
Evening meal was disappointing. We waited 1hr between starter and main course. Venison was tough.

Beautifully decorated and furnished old building on Princes Street. Location was perfect as the historic part of the city and most attractions were within easy walking distance. There was an excellent hop on/hop off open topped tour bus service available almost outside the door. The hotel is conveniently opposite the railway station entrance. Our king room was not large but was very comfortable, had a huge shower and was well soundproofed and quiet despite overlooking Princes Street and late night revelries. Excellent restaurant and breakfast with gluten free options.
Difficult to find anything to complain about this lovely hotel. It could use more than one lift as there was always a queue.
4.1
Perfect location, excellent breakfast snd very nice stuff
Noise from the street at night

Good location near station
Overpriced due to Springsteen concert
4.1
Great breakfast and fabulous location close to the station.

Location was ideal for event that we were attending.
The entrance to the hotel lobby was confusing to find reception.
The room was tiny (about 5 by 5 m) and claustrophobic and was in the attic and did not have a lift up to that floor for probably the two oldest people in the hotel. The final staircase up to our room was broken with a badly effected repair carried out.
The room was found to require hoovering and did not appear to be hoovered at all during our stay.
When the size of the room was brought to the attention of the staff all they could say was sorry and did not offer an alternative.
4.1
Hotel lovely, staff very friendly and professional. Only problem we found was with bathroom mixer taps leaking and sink plug not holding water in basin.. Otherwise, great stay and would book again.
Bathroom plumbing as stated above.
4.1
Friendly check in, great views of the city, excellent breakfast.
The room was well below expectations, which were based on a previous experience staying in a superb room at an Indigo hotel in Paris. This room in Edinburgh was small, the furniture was unusable because all the drawers were sealed closed. We had to move the desk to open the small wardrobe/closet. No shelves anywhere. Only one chair for two people, so with one person sitting on the chair the other person is forced to sit on the bed (assuming you plan to sit together to drink tea or discuss something). Unfortunately, the bed is ridiculously high (which makes the room look even smaller) and you can't sit on the edge of the bed because your feet are not on the floor. However, very quickly, you slide off the soft mattress edge and have no choice but to stand (or sit on the floor).

Very helpful and friendly staff
First room we were offered had no space for clothes! We were moved to a room with drwers for clothes...

Excellent location
Friendly staff
Room is quite small especially corner room. Can’t fit a large suite case

Prime location on princess street with easy access to airport and the city centre.
1) the front office staff who checked us in could be a little more polite..it was like speaking to a drill sergeant to find your barracks for the night
2) we had a request for a room on high rise floor with city view which was not honoured..I believe after paying a price of 289£ per night for a double room..it’s a reasonable ask. I was informed the staff would make best efforts to find us one but it didn’t seem like that
3) to add more to our disappointment, the room allocated to us was disability friendly and apparently that was the only room available. With all due respect , the washroom was very different that if you take a shower the whole room gets wet, also we accidentally pulled the emergency string which caused panic with the alarm and response calls from the staff in the middle of night while trying to turn off the lights. Honestly if we were made aware that was the only choice of room available before, I would very well go somewhere else and pay better price.
4.1
Beautiful, well kept facilities, the hotel bar and restaurant were both stellar, perfect location for a short visit to Edinburgh when we wanted to see all the sights in just a day and a half
4.1
The service, room itself, air conditioning, bar, restaurant, and location were all exceptional!
