Amazing helpful staff. The most beautiful location. You really don’t need to leave the resort.
We had plumbing problems on the last day

Excellent location, gorgeous room with a view, and fabulous staff. The whole Aitutaki resort experience was such a much-needed break, and something we have wanted to do for ages (especially the bone fishing for my hubby). Kayak and SUP at your bungalow to use anytime, private and quiet room location, lovely warm sea for snorkelling, easy access to Aitutaki island for a scooter journey and explore, great spa treatments, and such wonderful friendly staff (thanks Mere and Jerry!).
I felt the breakfast was a bit light on tropical fruit - wherever I travel I love to experience fruit and veg native to the location, and it was a bit skewed towards European tastes, but I guess that's most of the clientele.

The accommodation was very good, the breakfast was great. The dinner menu was a little limited in selection and did not change from night to night and so we ate at some of the local restaurants. The staff were outstanding (especially Mere in the restaurant area and Tia, our housekeeper) nothing was a trouble to them and they were always happy.
Insufficient range of snack items to purchase in there shop.

Our villa with private pool was very comfortable & had everything that was required by us ie. SUP, reef shoes, quality linen and the food was very tasty. However what made our stay so memorable was the staff. My 92 year old Mum was “blown away” by the exceptional attention of the staff, throughout the entire resort, from Reception & restaurant waitstaff right down to our housekeeping ladies. The wonderful staff truly enhanced our stay at the resort and nothing was ever a problem. Every request was attended to immediately. So we want to thank them for helping us to make long lasting memories. A special shout-out to “sister” Roneel. Thankyou so much.

Tutto! Lo Staff meraviglioso.. non ho mai trovato personale così gentile, sorridente e attento!
Nulla.. unica cosa, il menĂą dovrebbe essere rivisto, poca varietĂ !

Setting was amazing. We had a bungalow on the beach. Comfortable and spacious. Staff were friendly and generous with their assistance and knowledge. Bikes and kayaks were fun to use. Gardens were lovely. Peaceful. The restaurant setting is stunning. Loved the little ferry rides to and from the island, this transport was available on demand.
Room service was difficult to come by. We were there 4 days and had good room service on one day. On the others, we asked after 4pm and were supplied towels and basics - disappointing as the hotel is very expensive, we paid over $1000 per night. Food in the restaurant was very average, but the prices matched, fortunately.

Private island was spectacular with, breathtaking views, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, accessibility to push bikes and water activities for each room and plenty of space for all guests to lounge, enjoy the pools/beach and soak up the sun
The only thing I did not like is that I did not stay long enough! I could not fault anything with the resort

We loved our stay at the resort! It’s the best spot on the island and perfect for swimming and kayaking.
The food at the restaurant was a bit hit and miss. Some meals were good. Others were average. There are other restaurants/cafes close by that we preferred for meals.

Loved everything about this place. Stayed over Xmas as a special family holiday. Beautiful villas, bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, snorkels all there. Lagoon beautiful.
Included breakfasts were great, lots to eat.
Restaurant food was very good and not too expensive. Good happy hour for cocktails.
Staff were absolutely superb. Every day we were welcomed Good morning by name. Quite how they recall I dunno.
Just a lovely special place & Aitutaki island is a small lovely gem in the middle of nowhere really.
Nothing really. It was all fab.
We had 3 different things go wrong in our villa 3 days running however it was all fixed very promptly. So wasn’t a hassle.
WiFi vouchers avail but a bit more exie than elsewhere. But then not really an issue if you are going on hols.

The resort was lovely, the staff attentive and swimming with the fish in the lagoon outside our room was magical! Biking, swimming and paddle boarding by day and cocktails by night - what's not to like :-)

We stayed in an overwater bungalow, which was amazing, although they are on the windy side of the island so we weren't able to make the most of it. Really loved the outdoor shower, and the bikes outside our room.
The staff were exceptional, especially Wise who made our trip!
The island is absolutely stunning.
There is the option to receive a credit to not have room service which we really liked.
For the price of NZD$1200 per night I expected 5* star accommodation but unfortunately I was left feeling slightly disappointed.
WiFi has to be purchased which is expensive and patchy.
Booking.com listing says tea/coffee maker in all rooms but there was just a kettle with instant coffee. The coffee served at breakfast was also not great. Putting a Nespresso machine or similar in rooms would be a great improvement.
The food was disappointing. Very basic breakfast options included in the continental breakfast and you have to pay for a cooked breakfast, which is crazy considering the price paid for the room. There was not enough variety with the daily lunch and dinner menu. It would be great if there was a unique daily special. We have stayed in far more remote places and had much better food.
Unfortunately the Flying Boat Beach Bar & Grill has been knocked down to make room for more bungalows, so there is now only one place to eat. This was only told to us on check-in. The in room brochures hadn't been updated to reflect this, so the meal times are not correct. It's even still listed as a place to dine on the website and on the booking.com listing.
There are many notices about being environmentally friendly, however there are miniature toiletries in the bathroom and all lights, fans and aircon were going full blast when we checked in. It would be great if they would move to large refillable toiletries to reduce single use plastic.

Stunning location, and some really friendly staff. Mere especially, if I've remembered her name correctly. She was there at breakfast with a wonderful smile.
We enjoyed the kayaks and beauty of the lagoon. The room was spectacular.
We were there on honeymoon and a big birthday, and at our other stay they made a stunning heart shape with towels on the bed and ensured we had a special stay. Here at private lagoon, we didn't feel that. Not essential of course, but is nice to feel special.

Fabulous location, could sit in our villa and look at stunning lagoon, palm trees and islands or have a snooze in the. Strategically placed hammocks. They were repairing pool area and reception so should be great when work finished. Like many places some staff were fabulous and did anything for you others just doing a job. They went out of their way to find a bike I could ride and had the best club sandwiches ever. Great music played by locals with dinner. No children huge bonus.
Breakfast buffet average, not that much variety with dinner if staying a few days, food good but needed more variety. Expensive to get around tiny island, we hired a car which was great or if fitter could have ridden bike.

Staff were super friendly. Felt like a home away from home.
Dinner menu was different every night which was great as there are limited food options on Aitutaki. Location was so beautiful.
Had to pay for wifi and the pool didn't have any shelter from the sun but they are renovating at the moment so that may change.

The location on the actual Lagoon is spectacular. Loved the style of the resort, very laid back and back to basics. We will definitely come again.
The resort was going through a renovation. Would have loved to have seen the finished result. For our stay, the paddle board were run down (and sinking) and not many organised activities due to the renos. Can't wait to go back to see the end result.

This is the perfect place to unwind, it is so peaceful and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and another week would have been good. The staff were mostly great, special mentions to Sarah at breakfast who works so hard and it's always cheerful and also to Wise for his cheerfulness and for looking after us so well.
In five days, I didn't find any good snorkling from the resort. I did go on a snorkling cruise with Teking, which was amazing. The cycles are in a poor state of repair, and there are no helmets.

Everything. The people. The feeling of luxury without feeling too commercial or pretentious. The food was great, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel looked after without being intrusive.
If you are looking for high-end luxury, Bora Bora like type of resort, this is not your option. If you are looking for a more authentic feeling of luxury, the most breathtaking tropical landscapes, wonderful relaxing food, and great weather, this is worth every penny.
Whilst it seems expensive when booking, after coming back we have realised this is the best value for money holiday we've had in a while. We'll do it again no doubt. We booked 5 nights in the premium beach bungalows and 3 nights in the overwater bungalows. The team upgraded us for a couple of extra nights to the overwater bungalows which was very thoughtful and kind!
Tish, Mere, Sarah and the rest of the team were simply superb!
Do not worry about the undergoing works comments. This place is going to be even better when they finish them (if that's possible!). The works are nearing the end, sensitively screened off, and didn't have any impact on our wonderful experience overall.
Warning! We will never look at a beach or tropical place in quite the same way after this. Aitutaki truly sets the bar the highest!

ALL of the staff were so welcoming and nothing was too much bother for them. In fact this is the friendliest service we've ever experienced and would return because of it.

The staff and facilities were great
Everybody just made us feel very welcome
Food and cocktails were awesome.
Unfortunately, the coconut trees were being de nutted on the one full day we were there. So, won't be a problem to anyone else for the next 6 months

Outstanding location and views. Massive and comfortable bed. Very friendly wait staff. Kayaks, paddle boards, snorkel gear all readily available. Umbrellas in the room were very handy on stormy days!
My partner is a coeliac and also allergic to dairy and eggs. We tried to dine at the restaurant and really struggled getting the wait staff to understand the severity and to check with the chef, resulting in some serious discomfort that put a real dampener on things. F&B Manager Sarah was very good trying to remedy the situation and made things a lot easier on the last day of our stay. Ended up eating on the mainland (Avatea Cafe - awesome) and enjoyed seeing more of Aitutaki

Best swimming location on the island, amazing for outdoor and water activities. Our bungalow was very well appointed with everything you could need. Loved how close the beachfront bungalows were to the water and that you can see it from everywhere in the bungalow (even the bathroom). We also loved that every bungalow had its own push bikes, and loungers/chairs etc. Because it was quiet, it felt like we had our own private beach. Lots of water front hammocks, loungers and chairs.
It is more isolated from the rest of the island than we anticipated and whilst this is fine (it is a private island afterall) having more evening activities and dinner options would have improved our experience. Our stay was 7 nights so perhaps this is why we got bored with the lack of evening activities and the same limited menu restaurant every meal. Breakfast was adequate but limited and again after 3-4 days we wanted something different.

The over water bungalows were phenomenal, clean, plentiful with the amenities and lovely towels in the bathroom. The staff incredibly helpful and generally lovely people happy to help at any opportunity. Views that will never ever leave me. The bikes were a fabulous addition and we loved cycling around the tiny lagoon and a little bit onto the island.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

The accommodation, cleanliness and staff attentiveness was all 10/10
Looking forward to returning when the replacement reception and restaurant are complete!!!!

absolutely loved the location and quietness of the property
if I had one suggestion it would be provisions for a little more shade in the overwater bungalows, maybe a sun umbrella with a holder you could pop up if needed.

Away from tiny humans.
That we had to leave.
