Séjour très agréable
Tout était très bien, l'accueil, la chambre très propre, la literie confortable, le personnel très aimable et à l'écoute.

Very good
The room was a lot better than the last one we stayed at here. Bigger and more comfy. And our car was parked right outside our window! Staff are lovely, and really helpful.
Breakfast isn't great to be honest. The breakfast room is too small and there isn't enough space for everyone. I was getting a coffee, and there was quite a queue behind me waiting for orange juice and coffee. No croissants and very little bread, but when I went back in about 10 mins the baskets were full. More space needed definitely.

Have always loved Ibis but won't use this particular one again
So I have stayed in 2018 next door at the Ibis hotel. I wanted the same hotel as I had before but I made the mistake of booking the Ibis Budget hotel next door. I was here doing research for a book I am writing on the German defenses of the second world war in the Cherbourg area as I was in 2018 and needed to take more photographs so the location was ideal. The staff were fantastic. Everyone was very kind and accommodating for the most part.
The room was small and there was a bunk bed right above my regular bed which I ended up hitting my head on. Because the room was small there was no other place for the bunk bed to fit. It was just a small room but served my needs ok. The big issue was the door key. Every time they cleaned my room my door key became unregistered for some reason so after a long day out and coming back to the hotel and going upstairs to my room the key wouldn't work so I had to go back downstairs for them to re-register the room key, ridiculous and only solved it at the second to last night of my stay. There was no eggs for breakfast as is the case in most French hotels and motels which I understand but there were eggs next door at the other Ibis. The selection of breakfast was poor I am afraid and the cereal was almost always never re-filled. Oddly there were never any forks! They only washed two forks every morning for some reason which is just bizarre for a hotel so I had to ask for a fork every morning. The spoons were teeny tiny smaller than a tea spoon! so if you have cereal for breakfast you had this tiny little spoon to use. One last thing. I came back from a long day out and made myself a coffee at the self serve machine downstairs but was berated by one of the staff for using the machine during non breakfast hours. Now the room is open so it's not like I walked into a closed breakfast room. The staff member over reacted and told me very strictly to never do that again! she was very dramatic and over the top about it. I offered to throw the coffee away and she remarked now that you made it you might as well drink it! All in all I have stayed at dozens of Ibis hotels over the years but won't come back probably to Ibis Budget Cherbourg, probably the one next door though, the regular Ibis.

Basic, clean, good location for the ferry terminal.
Breakfast was basic but fine.
My husband dropped a plate by accident. The attitude of the staff person was poor, obviously very puy out that she had to get a brush and pan. And it wasn't busy.

Good value modern Budget hotel
Friendly staff & very good breakfast for price. Spotlessly clean rooms and good large car park. Well situated for business travel.
Restaurant next door in Ibis hotel wasn't open on the Saturday night I was there.

Excellent location en route to ferry
Location is very handy for the ferry. The room was well designed and contained everything we needed. You can borrow a hairdryer from reception. Breakfast was excellent with assorted bread, jams, cheese, fresh fruit, juices, tea and coffee. Well worth the money.
