The property has a real sense of elegance and style, is beautifully decorated and furnished, and the gardens are lovely. We also enjoyed the pool area given the very hot weather we had during our stay. The meals we ate in the restaurant were excellent.
The property is in a lovely location but if you don't have your own car it's a fairly expensive taxi ride into Turrialba.

Idyllic place set in a colonial-style building, very authentic. Beatiful property!
2.0
beautiful surroundings and garden
lots of bugs in the room (even more than in the fully open air cabins in the jungle where we slept afterwards), very run down equipment and furniture, only 1 out of 4 power sockets working

the staff was the friendliest ever!
bathrooms a little dirty but e erythjng else over shined that!

Peaceful, spacious property surrounded by nature. Staff hospitality, especially helping carry luggage up stairs.
Dinner at hotel restaurant was a bit pricey for quality of food.

The grounds were beautifully landscaped with many trails that wrapped around the lagoon. The hotel building itself was picturesque and relaxing with many areas for a comfortable social. During dinner, we ordered a delicious meal made in their pizza oven.

Beautiful setting.
was expensive for the area so expected top notch service and grounds. Service was definitely lacking and we came back from a long day of touring and were looking forward to a hot tub. it was cold and they told us they turned it off at 3:00 with no reason. Turned it back on but it never got hot.

Beautiful space! We got a deluxe king room and it was so spacious. Staff were super friendly and you sit on a beautiful lake with hiking trails right on the property. Food was authentic and delicious!!

it may need a few renovations

The room was comfortable and the bed was relaxing. The food and staff were remarkable and the outdoor pool entertainment was excellent. There is not enough that I can say about this exceptional place.
8.0
Restaurant, staff, clean, beautiful views and colonial style building
No air conditioner in the room, open windows before you coming without mosquitos net, small bathroom, generally nothing to do, grassy lake, very small pool

breakfast was good. we lost power for 1 hour, but the staff was very informative and supportive during that time. We would highly recommend this place for the location and the architecture!

Location, food and friendly staff.
I liked everything about it.
4.0
The surroundings, nothing else.
Property is totally outdated, not in shape. Rooms urgently need maintenance, bathrooms old and moldy. Rooms not really clean, not safe (balcony door could not be closed properly). Rooms are very clairaudient. No mosquito net at the window. Not recommended at all!

The free breakfast I chose was poorly made and not worth eating. A hot dog is not "sausage" for an American breakfast. I asked for "soft scrambled" eggs. They were hard and cold like they'd been cooked long before and left out under a heat lamp that dried them out and didn't keep them hot. Very disappointing food experience for such a nice hotel otherwise.
The restaurant does not live up to the rest of the hotel experience.

This is an intriguing, romantic and exotic place to stay; it has a unique charm but it is hard to get to as it is a long way off the beaten track.
We used it as a break on our journey from Alajuela to Puerta Viejo de talamanca.
It is a beautiful building, it has a relaxed feel, it is set in lovely grounds, the birds are lovely to watch. Nice bar/lounge area.
Very reasonable food too. Drinks a little expensive but you are in a remote place.
If the pool was working I would stay here again for 1 or 2 nights.
This is an intriguing, romantic and exotic place to stay; it has a unique charm but it is hard to get to as it is a long way off the beaten track. Pity the rooms have no a/c.
We got a lot of insect bites here and I think that's why.
Our big disappointment was that the swimming pool was out of action whilst we were there, it was closed for maintenance. I would have liked to have been told in advance. There isn't that much else to do in the area. I didn't ask for it and maybe I should have but I did hope the staff would offer some sort of discount on the price but they didn't
