Sehr netter Gastgeber.

Alles, war richtig richtig schön! War einfach ein Hammer Aufenthalt

Stunning views and very friendly staff. We had an amazing time here, just starring in the valley and observe the wildlife. The private waterfalls are beautiful and refreshing. We managed to get here with a compact SUV and not a 4x4. The staff went above and beyond and my mum had a fantastic birthday. Thank you!

Santa Juana is truly an amazing place. The cabañas are straight from a dream, a balcony that looks right out over a huge forest, with Manuel Antonio visible far in the distance. Toucans come to say hello 👋 and many other birds are the soundtrack
There is real peace in this area, the people working are very kind. Food is pure and natural, real farm eggs for breakfast, real local made cheese! Fresh fruit from their garden! Thanks for such delicious casados Roxana. Hugo and Pedro , great service !
Oh, and the best coffee we had in 2 weeks in CR, prepared the real way. Simply an incredible restful place!

It was simply the best place to stay during our 6 week trip to Costa Rica. Hugo (the owner) told us from the very beginning that their aim is to make us feel at home with family - and oh we did!
Our bungalow was just gorgeous, bright, modern, clean and this absolutely great view! When visibility was good we saw the sea, when it rained we felt like we were in the clouds. We could practically pick litchis from the balcony and watch toucans and other birds flying by or sitting in the trees.
The food in the restaurant prepared by Roxanas and Julia's was delicious, we felt like being "at grandma's" - it was cooked with a lot of love, it always tasted excellent and we were more than full. In addition, the view from the restaurant over the surrounding mountains is simply magical.
Alan & Andres made our stay such a wonderful experience, they were so accommodating, incredibly friendly and you could tell they just wanted us to have a great time with them. Our 2 year old son still talks about them and we fondly remember our times together!
A wonderful destination nearby are the waterfalls, about a 10-minute drive from the lodge. We had the place all to ourselves, walked to the big waterfall and then bathed at the small waterfall in the middle of the jungle - what a dream! I also highly recommend the massage that you can book through the lodge, the masseuse comes directly to the room, the massage is wonderful and rounds off the experience there.
We will recommend this accommodation to any of our friends who go to Costa Rica, it would be a shame to miss it!
Note for drivers: We were unsure when booking because of the many reports about the difficult journey - which turned out to be much more harmless. We were on the road in the rainy season but if you choose the route described by the property you don't have to cross a river. It's a long gravel road, so you have to drive slowly, but that's all.
Everything was amazing.

We loved everything about this place : it is completely isolated in the top of Santa Juana's mountains, with a magnificent view, wonderful rooms (small appartments), private terrace and hammac, cozy commun area with 360° view all over the Santa Juana mountain until the ocean. Absolutely stunning!
The road to get there is difficult so SUV of 4x4 is necessary, but it's part of the experience. The wifi doesn't work very well in the rooms.

Amazing view! Eten was heel lekker! We overleefden de ‘bumpy’ road. Was wel een uitdaging. Lodge is fantastisch!

The staff were wonderful and go the extra mile to make sure you have everything you could possibly need and more. Delicious breakfast included and lunch and dinner offered at a low price. This place is like a retreat. So peaceful!!
Be sure to go to bed early as the birds wake up around 5:30am.

Most beautiful location of any hotel/lodge I have ever stayed in.

Everything was wonderful. Views are stunning and the rooms are beautiful, and apparently done with reclaimed wood. . The way the casitas are situated you cant really hear anyone, and its generally quiet (except for the wildlife- really only birds, and that was why we were there) We had 6 toucans land in the tree in front of our casita in the morning, and one of the staff pointed out other types of birds for us in the morning during breakfast. I thought given the location there would be mosquitos but there werent even any of those!
Food is typical of what you would find in the area, and they had beer and wine if you want. We had laundry done and they have a 'pay what you want' policy, which seems overly generous but typical of this place.
We went to the waterfall on the way back towards Quepos. It was lovely and the perfect temperature.
I adore this place and hope others go to enjoy it.
Nothing! I guess if someone doesn't want to drive up a mountain this place isn't for them. The secluded location was amazing for us.

WORST Booking experience ever. We had an unexpected problem, and we had to leave the country a few days before. We tried to contact the property several times without success; after 1 day of countless efforts, we managed to get in contact with the property that asked us to provide DOCUMENTS about our unexpected problem to discuss a partial reimbursement. We provided them, but the owner denied it! (reservation of around € 300,00....), stating that DESPITE being in high-season it was hard for him to find new customers. Very poor understanding of the situation.
PS. Consider that the property is accessible ONLY with a 4x4 car as you have to go through the jungle and even cross a river (especially if it is raining, which is very frequent in the area). This is not very well explained in the description of the place.

Everything ! We stayed 2 nights and it was an absolutely amazing experience from the beginning till the end.
The room was spacious (we were 3) and beautifully decorated. Wonderful view from the balcony. Stuff extremely welcoming and helpful. Good food for breakfast and dinner.
The calm of this place is like nowhere else.
The bumpy road to get there is well worth the trouble (and it’s the very reason it’s so quiet there). Just get a 4WD and you’ll be fine.

A fantastic mountain stay.
I liked everything but best if you have a 4 x 4 automobile and a spirit of adventure. It is quite the drive from the main road.

Santa Juan Lodge had amazing views from the mountains of Quepos and Manuel Antonio. The lodge provided lots of privacy, tranquility, and peacefulness throughout. Also, the hospitality and staff were exceptional. Not only did they provide great service, but the meals were truly home-cooked Costa Rican cuisine. I would definitely come back here when we revisit the Quepos area.

Such an amazing lodge. The bungalow has an absolut stunning view and has so much space. We really loved our stay there and it was definitely a highlight of our trip in Costa Rice.
The food did not vary (rice & beans for most of the meals)

The staff were incredibly lovely, the cabins are amazing and the location is too! We had breakfast and dinner there and both were really tasty. I would return anytime.

Everything. This is an amazing place, and I can recommend it to everyone. The cabin itself, the view, the drive up there, it's all amazing. If you have the chance, and you have a 4x4, book this place.
Nothing really.

The rural environment, was totally peaceful and silent. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was very good, homemade, and fair priced.
The room was spacious and very well-equipped, however they need better cleaning at the corners and the hidden spots.

our lodge was amazing, great views and amazing food and staff. make sure you wisit a waterfall 20 minutes from the property, secluded with no tourists and great jump spots. I loved every minute of it!

Santa Juana lodge is a magical place with such lovely people running it. I could have spent days just sitting on the balcony looking out over the hills, watching the birds and thunderstorms rolling in. It’s very relaxed. there are things to do in the area like zip lining and the waterfall was amazing but generally it is a place to chill and look out over the hills, do some animal spotting. the cabin was very spacious and comfortable. The food was basic but good and the people working there super friendly and lovely. Felt a bit more like real Costa Rica compared to other more touristy places I’ve been.
I think having a car would be best. The lodge can arrange transfer from Quepos / Manuel Antonio but it’s expensive.

The stunning views and the pure beauty.
Waking up to beautiful birds and natural sounds of the surrounding jungle.
Andres and Allan were exceptional hosts and made us feel very welcome. The lodge has stunning views and is set in the rural mountains above Quepos. We loved waking up to the beautiful sounds of the birds and surrounding wildlife. The meals are an excellent value for the money. It is a bit of a drive into town (40 min) We have three older kids so I would say two nights is adequate because that’s isn’t a ton to do in such a remote location. Definitely bring some games up with you for the evenings . This is the perfect escape from touristy towns and authentic Tico hospitality!
Long drive into town (40 min)
Not enough to do with three older kids
Needs a bit more variety for food, but it was delicious! Especially the soups!

This place is a gem! I think it’s our favourite place to stay in our life! If you have the time, don’t miss it! We ended up extending our stay, because we fell in love with it! We stayed in Gratitud, we were the first guests and we couldn’t be possibly more happy with it! The view is amazing and unique. You can only see trees and animals as far as eye can see, even from your shower! We’ve seen Toucans, different birds, Iguans, butterflies..etc. The beds are soooo comfortable and with memory pillows, we’ve had the best sleep with the voice of the animals and the river. The place is well equipped and has everything you need. Alain and Hugo and all the staff made sure we are comfortable and happy. You can take a hike to a beautiful waterfall and maybe you can even have it for yourself and it’s free! We’ve seen squerall monkeys on our way too. You have to try their pumpkin cream mixed with milky rice, it’s delish! If you want to have day trips they can arrange it too, but really it’s worth a day just to stay around and be mesmerized by the view on both sides of the restaurant. Thank you so much, we hope to come back one day! <3
(You need a 4X4, but it’s not that bad I think. Make sure to switch off AC while driving thrue slowly on water at some places, but they are not at all deep and they constantly working on maintaining the roads)
That we didn’t have more time to stay more

it was secluded, quiet where you can really enjoy the beauty of nature. Alan and Andes make you feel like you are visiting family. The home cooked meals felt like my mom was cooking for us. Amazing!

Stunning views, friendly and helpful staff and peaceful location with a couple of interesting walking trails and lots of beautiful birds. Doña Julia cooked us fabulous meals and made a special effort to introduce us to a variety of traditional dishes over the course of our stay.
The drive along the unpaved road up to the lodge is not for the faint hearted as there are steep drops and the road is liable to landslides when there is heavy rain. But we were in good hands with the drivers the lodge arranged for us as they knew the road very well.
