It was a really relaxing place, very welcoming and friendly Nothing was to much trouble.we had gorgeous room with fantastic views across the countryside, mountains and estuary. Food was fantastic and well presented (by the ghost)Howard.

Couldn’t fault our stay here. Friendly host who met us at the front door. Comfy room and lovely breakfast. There was a guest lounge that we used on one evening and a verandah where we sat overlooking the most spectacular scenery. It was like going back in time with the decor but with all the modern comforts!
The directions to get there were confusing. We put the post code in our SAT NAV and it took us up a narrow winding track into someone’s private property where it was difficult to turn around. The only other thing was we walked into the village on two occasions and although only about 10 mins away found it a little dangerous as there was no proper footpath on some parts of a fairly busy road. Of course this isn’t something that the property owners can do anything about.

This guest house is truly exceptional. We had been travelling for 7 weeks when we arrived, but immediately felt like we were coming home and could relax The house is beautifully furnished with fabulous history and stories about Shelley and others (that have been narrated and can be played in audio prompts around the house). The location is great for exploring northern Wales by car. Our room was spacious, furnished with respect to the history and well-appoointed with everything you could want while travelling, and with amazing views ( even from the bathroom). The breakfast was the best we have had on our travels. But most of all, the warmth, humour, and genuine hospitality from Mark and Howard made this a very special and memorable 2 days.
That we only had 2 days there! And that it's so far from Melbourne.

Warm welcome and excellent hosts. Furnishings and fittings very elegant but comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

Breakfast was delicious - there is a selection to choose from but we had medley of fruit, with eggs royale, fresh orange juice and tea and toast sitting in the breakfast room with stunning views across to the estuary. We also had booked a cream tea on arrival which was served on the veranda - lovely scones and cake. The views from our room were wonderful and its an idyllic place - quiet and restful.
Everything was perfect for our stay

Small historic property with superb views across the estuary. A nice change from characterless chain hotels. A genuine welcome and attentive but unobtrusive treatment. Good breakfast options and food very well prepared to order. Prompt attention to TV reception problem. Lots of interesting old furniture and information about the historical standing of the Plas. Pleasant garden to stroll round. Convenient location subject to caveat below and helpful information provided for restaurant and taxi options.
The only down side is that the property is accessed via a long unmade drive, making it virtually obligatory to take a cab or take the car to go into town for a meal in the evening. The suggested "ten minute stroll" is not really practicable, certainly in darker weather, what with the drive and lack of pavements on the road into Tremadog. We would not like this to put people off - just be prepared for it.

lovely location and very friendly host.

Mark and Howard went out of their way to make us feel at home. Breakfast was excellent quality, piping hot and Mark remembered our likes and preferences each morning! Nothing was too much trouble. Incredible views over Porthmadog from our bedroom window. Sumptuous bedding, in a tastefully decorated room in keeping with the age and history of the building. The building and rooms are full of character and charm! the house is a short taxi ride from Tremadog or Porthmadog but we preferred to walk and take in the scenery. Ideal position from which to explore Snowdonia national park.

Driving up the winding drive to the house indicated this was going to be an experience and it did not disappoint. Mark the host was ready for our arrival, helped with our luggage and rang to book us a restaurant in the nearby village. Our room had he most incredible view across to Porthmadog and the garden below. The furnishings were elegant and the bathroom was very well appointed too with lots of towels and ‘green’ toiletries.
Breakfasts( with eggs cooked perfectly by Howard) were ordered electronically the night before. Mark was a most congenial host, sharing stories about thé history of the house and suggesting places we might walk. We loved it there and would happily return.
Nothing, it was lovely and restful and interesting,

On arrival we were warmly met by Mark and shown to our room, Shelly's Theatre, it is absolutley stunning. There is a wonderful history of Percy Bysse Shelly's stay at the house in the 1800's. A four poster bed, which is extremley comfy, beautifully furnished and spacious with a window seat overlooking the lovley gardens. The bathroom was equally spacious and luxurious. We had to other breakfast the previous night, you can do it in the morning an hour before you wish to go down if you like. There is a tablet provided to do this and is very straight forward. The welsh cooked breakfast was superb and the view from the dining room is breathtaking. A beautiful hotel warmly looked after by Mark and Matthew well worth a visit.

Breakfast was excellent in every way. Service was polite and cheerful.
The Shelley's Theatre Room was an absolute delight : it is one of the most elegant and historic rooms we have ever stayed in. The Morris themed decor was wonderful.
1) The device for ordering breakfast was not user friendly and too fiddly for us techophobes.
2) The bedroom was too hot, inspite of our best efforts to turn the temperature down. We like cold bedrooms !
3) No reading light. We brought our own.
4) We never used the coffee machine. Too complicated ! ( see 1)

Breakfast was excellent! Everything cooked to perfection so kudos to the cook. Our room was huge! We stayed in the shelley's suite it was immaculate the bed was sooooo comfy and the room had Everything you could possibly need. Mark was the perfect host polite and courteous. I can't rate the Plas highly enough. A very special place that will leave you not wanting to go home. We will return in the summer when the weather will hopefully be on our side.
