Beautiful historic house, lovely views, friendly staff, great breakfast, comfy bed
The decor could’ve been more in keeping. Our bathroom had Lino on the floor and plastic panels in the shower
4.5
The location.
Room too hot! No window only a door which couldn't be left open at night as open to the woods outside. Plug in fans etc.in the room were too noisy to have on and sleep. Weren't made aware of any of this when booked or arrived. Stayed the first night with no real sleep and abhorted our second night! Mentioned it to reception on leaving who just said " oh dear". Not good enough!

We liked the seclusion, the beautiful architecture and decor, peace and quite of the location.
We are also aware of the history of Nanteos mansion and experienced unexplainable phenomenon near lady Elizabeth’s portrait (in the morning room) on our first visit.
We stayed in the Nightingale suite this visit (with the blocked off window) and witness further benign phenomenon, so did not disappoint.
We loved the huge room, bed and bath tub-my partner virtually lived in the bath! 😁.
We did partake in afternoon tea, the spread was one of the best we have had.
The staff are great and very friendly, a quick shoutout for Alec 👍
The mansion is magnificent in all aspects.
We were disappointed though to learn, the evening meals had been cancelled.
Our previous visit, the food was sooo morish. The mansion did provide alternative, but it did give us an excuse to take a picnic instead.

Beautiful location and amazing building. Breakfast.
Staff were indifferent and rude. Lady at reception did not welcome us, just took us to our room. The lady in bar told us, as soon as we sat down, ‘I have to lock the bar in ten minutes’. Staff at breakfast did not even acknowledge us for over 20 minutes, when I asked for coffee.

Happy and helpful staff
Lovely location
Good breakfast (but see below)
Large bedroom (but see below)
Grandeur and quirkiness of main building
Bed was uncomfortable and could be bigger given size of bedroom (suspect old mattress as appeared to sag in middle)
Pillows were uncomfortable too, one overly firm, the other overly soft (I know you can't get this right but where was the 'middle' option?)
Breakfast was good but there was no yoghurt on two mornings. One day is forgivable if, as we were informed, a delivery didn't happen. Two days is unforgivable as someone should have gone to the local supermarket
Could have been more signage for local walks
Pet cemetery overgrown

Very good although the table was rather small.
The bedroom was cold and with only a duvet.

The mansion is a genuine grand country house. It has lots of character and charm. The staff were excellent and made us very welcome. The service was superb.
4.5
beautiful building and setting.
would have like a few seating areas in the grounds and walled garden as bistro tables to the side were in the shade in the afternoon and evening. nowhere to sit and enjoy the beautiful views in the sunshine.

I had booked the wrong day so when we arrived the hotel was not expecting us. They were fully booked but were able to offer us The Mews which was vacant. This was gratefully received and very kind of the hotel.
Staff extremely friendly in all areas. We had breakfast and dinner. Both meals were well prepared and service was very good.
Beautiful location.

The property was magnificent. The room was well appointed and spacious. Our room was on the second floor and there is no lift which might be a problem for some. The mansion is on acreage so it very quiet , it's about 10 minutes out of Aberystwyth. I'd like to thank the staff especially Sarah. I left my glasses behind when we moved on. Sarah located and arranged to have them forwarded on to me. Thank you again.

The staff were very friendly and approachable. Breakfast was good, and there was plenty of choice. We had dinner and the food was delicious. The room was comfortable with a massive bed!
The fridge in our room didn’t work so we just got fresh milk daily from reception for making tea. The tonic in the bar was from a soft drink dispenser and not bottled (but I’m fussy about my tonic!)

beautiful period property in stunning grounds
well I can’t really review but you keep asking for one. we didn’t end up staying as the heating wasn’t working. which staff notified us of in the day. luckily we found somewhere in Aberystwyth for the night.

It was lovely to see the work that has gone into renovating the place. loved some of the stain glass.

Grounds were great
Room felt very basic and not to the same decor as hotel.

Staff couldn't do enough to make the stay as enjoyable as possible.
That we couldn't stay longer! But work wouldn't allow it!

Fantastic house, amazing location, ample facilities. The kind of place you would normally visit not stay in. The staff couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Wholeheartedly recommend.....

The room was comfortable The bathroom with a walk in shower was beautiful. and well appointed with soap/shampoo /shower gel etc. Fluffy towels replaced on request. If required a substantial full Welsh breakfast was available but more simple food was readily supplied with excellent tea / coffee / toast and preserves.
The views across acres of green fields were magnificent and short walks in the hotel grounds were relaxing..
This visit was not our first and certainly will not be our last.
access to the Hotel along a narrow road 1/2 mile with limited passing places,

Great breakfast but no dinner as Tuesday is a closed day for the restaurant. We went to Aberystwyth so not a problem and we were aware in advance.
