The host is great. Helps out a lot by giving tips // insights on what you can do in the area etc. I arrived in Peru without a plan because I left Ecuador for the chaos that had erupted. The host was amazing at thinking a long and providing options incl. costs and travel time etc. or giving advice on things to do not just in Mancore but anywhere.

The vibe is pretty chill, the staff is not strict about check-in or check-out times. They prepared our bed earlier even though we arrived around 6 in the morning so that was really nice. We had our own key so we could go in whenever we wanted. Big fridge we can use and some cooking tools available. Ivana was very kind.
Beds are a bit small, at least in the female dorm. The kitchen was not cleaned for some time it seemed. The staff is not often in the common areas so it’s harder to get a hold of them, specially we didn’t know when they were out.

The staff were so friendly and sweet! Made the stay awesome. Was super affordable, great location, by the quiet end of the beach but only a 10 minute walk to the main part of town. The others I met in the hostel moved to Wally's from party hostels because they said they couldnt sleep there. Was really nice to have the separation. Also, Wally's has mosquito nets which is SUPER nice and important and I guess not all the other hostels have that.
Just a little quiet and not the most social hostel, atleast when I was there but it's ok depending on what you're looking for!

When i spotted immediatly wally on booking. I was sold quickly. And it was even more than i expected. A lovely small place to be.. bathrooms are clean and even hot water! I liked the bed and the room. I had it all for myself..even than..its spacious enough for 4..not noisy at nighttime..fan and anti crickets as moustique protectors available. I slept like a baby every night. Ivana and her mum are absolutly sweerhearts. Chill fun vibe..not many People in the hostel though i made friends..i love the hosts. Ivana arange a motor taxi. Took care of my wound etc. Wally welcomed me and give good instructions through whatsapp. I could stay longer if i had more time.. i absolutly recommend staying here..ivana and her mum are the bonus of these place!!
Maybe for some People. You quite away from the main area of restaurants but their are cheap local restaurant on the main road. 5 min walk and 5 min walk to the beach you have a delicious pub and breakfast in the surf camp hostal. Also i really liked their sushi..the beach on that side was really quiet and relaxed. At that market you have the best ceviche i ate and more..cheap aswell. I enjoyed my stay a lot! Thank you for everything!

Chill spot situated close to the beach and main road. Wally was a real nice guy too

Wally's house was one of the nicest hostels I stayed during my trip so far. Mainly because the owner Wally makes you feel at home and the place is great for meeting new people. It is also located very close to the more quiet part of the beach, which I personally preferred. Can recommend it to everyone!

Wally is a really great host and he makes the hostel really beautiful and great for solo travellers. I arrived on a night bus and he waited up for me in the middle of the night, welcomed me, and gave me a bed to sleep in for a few hours until morning even though I had only booked from the night after.
There were activities every day such as Peruvian traditional cooking and he has good tips on where to buy food, surf instructors etc. The rooms are cool and all beds have good mosquito nets
The only thing I can say is that the hostel is not in the main part of town, but this means it's quiet and everything is still walking distance and there are cheap mototaxis everywhere.

Wally is really super friendly and kind. A friendly welcome made me feel at home instantly. Nothing was too much trouble. His hostel is clean and comfortable with excellent shared areas and nice activities to socialise. He had a cerviche making class where people just paid for ingredients. The hostel feels very new and there is a great kitchen to use. It's close to the beach. It's quiet and chill. I highly recommend Wally's House.

The people who ran the hostel for the priority who lives outside of Peru were friendly. Good location.
Kind of disgusting hostel...people smoke inside, beds are moldy because water comes in through the roof when it rains...everything seemed dirty in the kitchen...

AMAZING place, the hidden gem of Mancora. Overall super small and chill place. Kept extending my stay because I loved it so much. The manager was super friendly, and the distance to town and to the beach was ideal. the common areas were chill and had great views, even had a shared kitchen. Also every bed has mosquito nets, ideal because there are a lot of mosquitos.
Not many people, so as a solo traveler can be hard to make friends

The staff was wonderful and the main reason that it's hard to give this hostal as low a review as it might otherwise get. Dominika treated us to a lovely Easter brunch celebration and was very helpful and kind. Location is near a quieter beach, hostal had use of a kitchen, a hot water kettle, fridge etc.
No proper roofs, everything gets wet when it rains, mosquitos everywhere, run down so hard to keep clean. Dorm rooms aren't very nice and the mosquito net had so many holes. It's clear the owner spends very little on maintenance. I also was charged way more than their usual rate through booking.com so that's not cool, and the price made it not worth the shared dorm value.

super friendly staff who made amazing pizza for us one evening, familial atmosphere, close to the long beach

All the volunteers are super lovely here and it really feels like a welcoming place
I really feel bad to write any bad comments, but I found it a bit confusing when I didn’t see anything in the reviews about this place and was expecting a bit more. It’s great for a good vibe but if you’re looking for a place that has a few more ammenities, it might not be for you. No fans in the room making it very hot, broken misquote nets and lumpy and smelly pillows with ripped sheets. I was there when it was raining and there was a big puddle on the group and I would get drops on my head during the night.

Great hostel with great staff. It feels like home :-). It was very clean and the staff is taking care of you. If you arrive with the nightbus, you can check in in the morning after 6am and go to sleep.

I had such a wonderful time in Wallys House! Best Chrismas and New Years Eve I could imagine! It was so familia in this hostel that we spend this days all together. It was wonderful! For party we went out to other hostels so it was always nice to come home to sleep easily. The host Anna was very caring and so lovely - she prepared every morning tee and coffee for everyone. Because of the nice location it is easy to walk to one of the beaches in Mancora (the beach near to wallys house is great because there are not so many people!). The beds were comfortable and with mosquito nets, which is really necessary in mancora, the wifi always worked well and laundry was also possible. Thanks for everything!

Everything. Anna was the best host I had during my travels. Anna was very attentive and friendly and made me feel at home. From the initial 2 days I booked, in the end, I stayed for almost 2 weeks. The Christmas and Christmas decorations in Wally's were better than I could imagine and all thanks to Anna for organising every detail. I will definitely be back as long as Anna is there.
There is room for improvement as always there will be. The bucket under the sink in the kitchen needs to be removed and installed proper pipes. We all used the kitchen a lot and washed dishes and a bucket is getting full very quickly. It's not a negative comment but just a suggestion as I was still able to use the kitchen.
Anna worked very hard during our stay. To accommodate hostel with many great people visiting. I Hope to see that Anna could receive more help and maybe volunteers could work there to help around as it is a lot of work for 1 person.

Loved Wally's House! Credit to Wally himself, awesome guy and full of positive energy. Arrived at 6am and Wally made me a cup of coffee, and let me have my bed not long after. Super chill family atmosphere with everyone staying there. Nice alternative to the big party hostels
Couldn't say a bad word!

Wally is a perfect host who really cares about his guests. I felt very welcome! It's a small hostel with comfortable beds, a nice kitchen and not far to the beach and main street. Would always go back to wally's house if i'm back in Mancora.

Nice little hostel with a chilled atmosphere. Not many guests, but good for socializing. Wally was also great and very helpful. Could have stayed longer!
- Hammocks
- 5min walk to the beach
- Quiet at night
- Party hostels are close by. So in case you want to party a bit, you can just walk there.
Just minor improvement ideas:
- The shower could have had more space to put your stuff
- Selling beer at the hostal would be nice ;)

Very sweet owner of the hostel, super helpful. It'd quiet, comfortable beds, everything is clean. It really brings together very kind travelers and everyone does activities together if hey want to. The community space invites to talk to each other and make friends.
Nothing to complain

It’s a cozy place with a good common area where it is very sociable. beds where comfy and they just installed hot showers. You also get discount on renting surfboards at a surf shop.

The owner is smoking marijuana in his own shared living. Was amazed by that fact, really bad. Also the smell of the weed got in to the dorm. Overall a very bad experience. I changed for another hostel as fast as I could. I don't understand the high ratings of this place, maybe the only good thing is the price... But you can find other hostels with the same price and better facilities in Mancora.

I liked how quiet it was. Good kitchen to cook your own meals. They let me in to my room as soon as I arrived which was great after a night bus.
