The property is so clean and so well thought out with lots of little touches to feel like a home from home. The flat is very spacious and beautifully furnished. The location is very convenient, right in the centre with some lovely little cafes nearby. Sheila the host is very attentive and ensured we could check in early to get ready for a wedding at Tunnels Beaches.
Whilst Ilfracombe itself is a little rundown, there are some wonderful places to visit nearby. I’d recommend:
•Coastal walk to beautiful little village called Lee
•Coastal walk to Hele Bay
•Watersmouth Area and Broadsands Beach
•Tunnels Beaches
•Boat tour to smugglers Caves
Places to eat:
•The Lime Kiln
•Thatched Inn
•Smugglers
•Antidote
Pillows were a little uncomfortable but that’s personal preference. The bath/shower was also leaking so the floor got really wet.

The apartment is very clean (practically spotless), airy and fresh-smelling. You are invited to remove your shoes on the landing, which we did happily. There is a twin room, the bathroom and the spacious well-equipped kitchen off the landing. Then there is a short corridor leading to a generous King room. The beds in the twin and King rooms are extremely comfortable. Opposite the kitchen is the comfortable lounge/dining area with many nice touches. There is a sofa bed in there but we didn't test that.
The location, being just 5 minutes' walk from the harbour, was perfect, and not noticeably noisy, even though there are several windows in the property, and we had them all partially open for the free flow of air. Wildersmouth beach, the Tourist Office, Ilfracombe Museum and the Tunnels beaches are within easy walking distance. So is Fore Street, with "Ilfracombe's oldest pub" (the George and Dragon) and "Seventy One Bistro", a great find for dinner which gets booked up quickly. The Wetherspoon is also nearby, and has an airy feel, a nice view, and is friendly.
S&P Fish Shop on the harbour front - recognisable by its big orange umbrella - is a nice spot for a seafood platter and/or fresh fish, but only open 10-2.30 for table bookings, and not every day.
There are no handy little shops for bottles of water/milk etc nearby. Probably best to take those basics with you if you are driving. There is a poorly stocked Premier store about 10 minutes walk away in the High Street (an uphill continuation of Fore Street) and a good Co-op 5-10 minutes further on. You can divert that way if returning from the Tunnels beaches.
Bus stops are close by for local buses, and services east to Minehead and west to Barnstaple (and on to Bideford and Westward Ho!) Nearby Watermouth Castle, under new management, is still worth a visit for families.
We happened to meet the owners on departure day and they're nice people.
The impossibility of a longer stay because of obligations!
It should be re-iterated that if you have mobility problems or a lot of luggage, the stairs might be problematic.

It was very spacious and modern.
1. It was on the third floor which I was
not aware of at the time of making
the booking and I had my 76 year old
Mother with me.
2. I was under the impression free
parking came with the property but
only found out last minute from the
owner that we had to park and pay
in a busy pay and display car park
3. It was very difficult to open /close
the windows at the front of the
property

Easy to be access from Sheila’s excellent instructions, on the third floor fine for views and above other folk. Modern inside in very good order everything worked as it should.
Apartment 2 below up for sale, neighbours a little noisy but subsided later on probably a one off but noticeable. Central location on the harbour superb for access but on the route for all folk coming back very late at night. To be expected but hard to close noise off for kids as very warm weather and therefore windows needing to be open. Just a case of peak season and us liking to retire before midnight.

Great apartment 👍🏻

Very large and well spaced apartment for a young family or friends sharing. Well located and easy walking distance near the harbour, coast walks, the bus if needed to Woolacoombe beach etc. Independent boutique shops around were unexpected and quite lovely. Cafes and restaurants across the street from the property plus around the corner plus the High Street.
The living room is a very pleasant space. Owner is well organized with binder and check in process. The property items well kept and organized also. The space was much larger than we expected plus it is newly renovated and pleasantly decorated. Pleased with the price and value.
There is no glazing in the windows. Lots of seagulls and their small gifts they leave on the window is quite gross so no clean view out the window even though it is quite pleasant. That is not the fault of the property. However, the lack of sound insulation and the light coming into the room based on choice of window covering led to not sleeping well for even one night. I heard everything...people, dogs, conversations, cars, seagulls etc...plus woken up very early with sunrise. I suggest eyeshades and earplugs for light sleepers.
The owner was not available as overseas, hard to reach which was inconvenient and annoying. The stairs are narrow and there are alot of them as property was on top floor. With heavy luggage, if unfit or elderly, I really do not suggest it. The builidng is old and nothing to look at, not the best impression upon entry. However the apartment was the unexpected gem.

This is apartment 3 on top floor and the are considerable steps. The apartment was comfortable, had everything we need and a modern decor. The hosts messaged us to see if we needed anything which was nice
The are too many steps and that was not in the description

Apartment was lovely, everything you could need is there and spotlessly clean!
The stairs to get to it, we live in a bungalow, so the amount of stairs was a shock...

Modern and comfortable. Very close to harbour bars and restaurants

The property was very good and had all the equipment needed
We did not anticipate 3 flights of steep stairs to the apartment and also the fact that we had to park our car in a public car park and pay £8 a day

The noise and the neighbours !
