Scott's place is great. The rooms are very big, the pool in the middle of the house is a great place to spend some time together and everything was very clean. Juan was very helful during outlt stay, he helped us with recommendations, booked some places for us and made us feel very welcome. We recommend it 100%

Our group of 6 stayed at Casa Juanito for a little under a week with half the group working remotely and half vacationing. The property itself was very conducive to our varying schedules given the size of the rooms (with amazing AC units!) and communal outdoor areas. The location of the rental was great -- the beach is a block away and it's a 5-10 minute walk to the beachfront restaurants with lounge chairs for rent. The main strip in La Punta is blocks away and there are numerous cafes, coffee/juice bars, restaurants, cocktail bars and boutiques -- we had a blast exploring new places each evening. Our group's collective feedback on the rental itself is that, while it was great for our needs with a solid location, there were a few glaring issues we wish had been pointed out to us. As another reviewer mentions, the host lives in the unit upstairs and the entire property shares the same entrances/exits and keys -- there is no separate entrance or way to lock the guest property. In addition to the guest property not having a separate, lockable door, the guest rooms do not lock. There was a general feeling that we lacked full privacy from the host and, despite the area being safe, our inability to lock our individual bedroom doors gave us a sense of unease. The on-site staff was very convenient. Juan (the owner) was able to assist with a few maintenance issues we had and the cleaner attended to our rooms every other day. Scott was also very communicative and helpful, especially when we were still deciding where to stay and had some questions regarding the internet speed (given that we were working remote).

This home is in the perfect location! Easy walk right to the beach and close to all the restaurants! The pool was a wonderful treat to cool down and be shaded. Can’t think of a better time to be had! There is someone on site as well so anything that came up was addressed right away. Juan and scott are very helpful with any needs!

We had arranged the property manager to have a ride from the airport to the house, but there was no one, so we hailed a cab. The taxi driver said he could not bring us to the house because of a road block due to a protest. When we contacted the property manager about this problem, he told us we would have to take a taxi to the road block, and get out and walk to the end of the road block to catch another taxi to the house... with all our luggage in the 100 degree heat. He did not previously communicate this problem, having known about it. Finally we get to the house after this ordeal. We’d arranged an early check in which worked out great, but the crew needed more time to clean, so we went to the beach for a couple hours. The property was great, as well as the location. We arrived back from the beach while the property was cleaned, to no running water at all. We contacted the manager again, and were told that the city water was shut off due to the protest which caused the initial road block. Again, he mentioned they knew that was a possibility and that they would have to get a water truck out to fill the cistern which was completely empty of water reserves. So after a long day traveling and in the heat, we had no running water for at the very least a shower. Around 10pm that night, the sweet lady housekeeper from earlier showed up with a water truck but the pump hose from the truck did not work, so she was literally filling up gallon buckets by herself from the truck outside into the house, with her 2 yr old baby at her side. The guy sitting in the truck wouldn’t help. We absolutely couldn’t stand to see her go through this, so we helped her for 2 hrs fill bucket by bucket, only no make no dent in the empty cistern. This was all our first day, and the housekeeper was left to manage this situation alone, not the actual property manager. Still no running water by the next morning and we were told by the property manager to go to the house next door and they would let us use the shower. No thanks. When I asked why the neighborhood and restaurants all had water, but we didn’t, i got no response. There was about a 12hr period of no response after I explained details what was going on. People kept showing up throughout the day, no results. One of our friends left the trip early after one day. This continued on for 2 of 3 days, no privacy in our house, terrible management of the situation. I’m asking for a refund because this was a total debacle.

I cannot say enough good things about this place!! Truly magnificent and a very well constructed vacation rental in the area. The private pool / lounge / kitchen area were so cozy, tropical and private. It's within walking distance to so many restaurants and bars in La Punta, an emerging neighborhood of puerto. The bedrooms all had AC and the showers has skylights, so dreamy. There is a cleaning woman who comes everyday and the owner lives upstairs, but you still have so much privacy. This house made our stay in Puerto so magical. The photos don't do it justice! It's even better.
