Home away from home, truly! But with a view and location to die for! Something for everyone: watersports, idyllic walks, bicycling, nearby amusement parks…you name it! We keep coming back- a new tradition…so happy that a place like this exists.

We reserved this beautiful home for a girl’s getaway weekend and it was perfect. The house is very well appointed and super clean. I am particular about cleanliness and it exceeded my expectations. Our highlights were going kayaking, playing games around the game table, snacks and meals on the patio while enjoying the breeze and beautiful lake view, and shopping in town. Everything we needed was a short walk away; we didn’t get back in the car until check out. Wonderful getaway location!

Was wonderful to see our family and the game room was perfect Would love a bit more comfortable furnishings and bed in master and a bit more kitchen cooking items but overall was wonderful

WONDERFUL cottage-like home in a perfect location....amazing river views, and plenty of walking trails abound. Being able to walk to the small, "New England" town center was a huge bonus, and the food/atmosphere in the local restaurants was excellent. We would certainly stay here again - thank you Carol, for being a fantastic host - the house was ready early, spotless, and again, had plenty to offer!

This house is quaint and beautiful. The location cannot be beat and the views are simply amazing. You will not be disappointed if you book this property. The host was very accommodating and gracious. Any season of the year will be spectacular in this home.

We loved everything about this beautiful home, especially walking access to everything in town, river and walking/biking trail! The host is very easy to communicate with at any time of day and is very helpful with any questions asked. We will come again next year. Thanks for everything, Carol!

Wonderful spot in quaint Collinsville where you can kayak, shop the farmer's market on Sunday, or walk the beautiful walking/biking trails. This is a home away from home. The owner, Carol, is helpful and available should you need assistance. I plan on a return visit next year.

The house is immaculate and very tastefully decorated! The host was available for any question, although we had very few! The river view is spectacular, and will be even better with fall colors! The town of Collinsville is charming -- Don't miss the farmer's market on Sundays, and coffee at Lasalle! We loved our stay!

This house was perfect for our visit to central CT. Great views, easy access to Collinsville center for food and the rail trail for morning runs, and plenty of space for a family if 4. Carol was very attentive and even brought extra games over for our kids! Would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at Carol's home by the river. The home was clean and thoughtfully furnished for comfort. Collinsville is delightful. The only drawback for us was the noise from the road because we prefer open wiindows. Despite that we would still choose this home again if we are in the area.

What a wonderful house across the street from the river. The colors on leaves were so pretty to look at from the patio. House was super clean, cozy and attention to detail was superb. Walking distance to the local
Shops. Carol was excellent at communication and being accommodating. Would stay here again and plan to in the future. It really is a special place!

We loved our stay in this beautiful house! It was a home away from home for us, and our host, Carol York made us feel truly welcome. The location was great, with a lovely views of the river, close proximity to restaurants, hiking trails and local towns. The highlight was canoeing in the river and enjoying the beautiful greenery around the water. We hope to be back again!

This was a very quaint house in an extremely convenient location. We were in CT to attend a wedding and were extremely happy with this house. The views of the river were fantastic. We could walk to several restaurants and there was even a farmer's market on Saturday. We would stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming 2-bedroom home near Farmington River. It was located directly across the street from the river and within walking distance to the downtown. The host provided many amenities which we appreciated, which included a fully stocked kitchen, plenty of linens, and books/games/Alexa for entertainment.

Lovely place. The only hitch was the ac…..I wouldn’t call window units actual ac…..my stay had consecutive days in the hi80s to 90s and those units weren’t built for that battle. Also, and this is a ME thing…I cannot sleep with that level of noise so I used the fan while I slept….average temperature up there even having run the ac for hours before I retired was over 80*. I’d stay again but NEVER IN SUMMER.

Our stay was amazing. The owner went above and beyond to ensure our stay was fabulous. She communicated well, directions were easy to follow and she added special touches, like letting us know about the town Memorial day parade road closure that may affect our departure. We will be coming back to explore the adorable town and take advantage of the activities on the river. We were in town for a wedding so our exploring was limited. Hands down one of our best VRBO rentals ever!! We stay VRBO quite a bit. Carol was truly amazing and house was charming.

We were so happy with our stay in Collinsville! The house was amazing!! The view of the river from the living room was so relaxing and peaceful! Carol the owner did not miss a thing! The house had everything you needed even if you didn't hink you needed it! From needle and pins to really nice smelling hand soap! You can tell this is not just a rental for her....it's how she would like her house to be if she was staying in it!! Carol had alot of information about the town, good restuarnats and things to do in a town you have never stayed in before! So helpful!! The beds were comforatble and everything was super clean! I usually like staying in differnt places when I return to a town I have been before, butI will definitly stay at this great house agian! Thank you Carol!!

We had a great stay at this house that was very clean and nicely decorated. The views from the house are beautiful and we enjoyed sitting on the patio overlooking the river. As some have mentioned, you can hear cars passing by at night but it wasn't a huge deal. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed. The house is right in town so you can walk everywhere, including some great trails.

Visited this past week and it was the perfect solution for our winter break needs. We relaxed and hit the slopes every day. My son learned a new board game every evening thanks to their collection of games. Great river views that made it feel like a cottage/lake house. The close proximity to groceries and restaurants was very handy. The host was accessible if needed but we really had everything and the instruction/guide provided in check-in answered all our questions. We plan to go back for future visit.

This house is located a short walk from the center of Collinsville, which has a number of nice shops, restaurants and antiques, and is near great hiking and fishing. The owner is super nice and flexible, the house is beautifully renovated. This is a detached house, with nobody living in any part...you have the house to yourself. A really great place to go for an experience of country Connecticut. As the listing says, there is a steep stairway, so anyone with mobility issues should take a close look...really not that bad, but something to consider. Also, being walking distance to the town is a big plus, but this is not a house in the woods! There is some traffic going by. Nothing major, just something to take into account. We will definitely consider returning, this is a nice place.

This place was perfect for our needs.
It’s right off the water and a trail. My family made use of the trail daily!
The host Carol is very kind.
I run cold on a regular basis, and informed her I was cold and she offered extra comforters!!!
We had everything we needed!
Kitchen is stocked with utensils and cooking appliances.
This is a must stay!!!

House was as described, clean, well appointed and furnished. Lighting, natural and artificial, was very good. Linens, towels and blankets were high quality and plentiful.
Owner was at all times helpful and prompt in responding to needs or questions. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Our family stayed here while our floors got refinished as we are from town as well. The home has picturesque views of the Farmington River. Our family biked and you can easily walk into Collinsville and enjoy dining, shopping, as well as the rail trail. Carol thought of every last detail. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing weekend. The house was very clean and well maintained. Carol was a lovely host with plenty of suggestions of what to do in Collinsville. We will be back for sure!

Various extended family members stayed for a few days while attending a funeral. Other family couldn’t wait to stop by to see inside this gem. Everyone was very impressed with this rental!
The only possible hang up was the tight tandem parking spaces in front of the house. However the owner stated it was safe to park on the side street were we not able to fit in the space by the house. The description mentions a “steep staircase” but anyone with an older home will be very familiar with these wooden stairs and I am pleased to add that my 72 yr-old mother had no issues traversing them.
The sitting room overlooking the river was a calming retreat for our morning coffee (or evening glass of wine). We all enjoyed walking along the adjacent path hoping to spot the neighborhood Bald Eagles. It was a quick walk to village shops. Our stay was in November but I imagine we would have hit up the canoe rental shop if we were there during warmer months.
Carol was easy to communicate with and checked in during our stay to be sure everything was going smoothly. This will definitely be our choice should we return to the area.

We spent a beautiful fall weekend in Collinsville at Carol’s cozy home. Furniture and beds are comfortable, check in and out are very easy and the view is amazing. We hiked and went into the town for dinner and made several meals in the cozy kitchen. Our U CONN daughter had a wonderful nap on their comfy couch and we spent mornings by the window looking at the river and sipping coffee. We played games in the evening and went into town for ice cream. Relaxing and friendly, Carol made everything easy for us. The surrounding area has plenty to do and see to witness the Connecticut charm. Don’t think twice - book with Carol before someone else does!

We can’t ask for a better home to stay. The view, the home, accessibility to town. Carol is a very good hostess. She is sweet as there were Voss waters and wine waiting for us. We were celebrating our friend’s 70th birthday. The decors were classy, the beautiful river view with a hint of foliage is the first thing you see when you wake up in the morning. Then you can cross the street and take a mini walk by the river. There’s a garden chair set you could use to watch the sunset and the sunrise. Overall experience 5 stars, we will definitely be back. Thank you again Carol!

Just came back from a long Columbus day weekend and couldn't be happier with the property. Beautifully redone while keeping the historic charm, great view of the river, and within walking distance of everything. Collinsville is the quintessential New England mill town, and fans of architecture, history, river sports, walking trails and good food would do well to check it out. Carol was a very attentive host and made everything easy. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our short stay at this very special property! The river view is so peaceful & beautiful. The home is super charming, super clean & very well appointed. The patio & garden delightful. Loved walking to town & the trails. Ate some great meals in town too!

Great location, really cute cozy home. Weather was not cooperative but Carol’s home was well stocked with books and board games. A marathon Monopoly game while watching the rainfall was restful and relaxing. Unfortunately our stay was cut short but we hope to return!
