The property description is accurate. The hosts are kind and easy to talk to. The property is gorgeous. We will definitely be going back

Very nice house and property, if you want some alone time with family in a secluded area where you don't leave the place at all this place is ideal. The road to get there was rough and under a lot of construction so don't drive there at night.

This is our spot. We come here every year. It is so beautiful and quiet. The house was nicely stocked. Host was friendly. Love it.

I came for the disc golf...but everything was great! This was a real vacation! You basically get a huge property with a beautiful lake, all to yourself! The house is FULLY stocked- bath towels, lake towels, coffee supplied, etc. etc. the house has everything, and the hosts are very nice. We had 5 people staying, and there was plenty of space in the family room for all of us. And the BBQ is in great shape too!
Overall this is an incredible place to stay!

Description and photos are true and accurate. Excellent communication with the owners, easy check in and out. My husband, children (7/12) and I had a great time. Diane and Frank are so kind to open their homes for visitors.
Fishing was great. We all cought fish off the doc and boat.
Stargazing is amazing!
Short walk from the house to the lake (couple minutes)
House was clean, comfortable and you cant beat the view.
My family and I are looking forward to more vacations here.

No thrills no surprises, it’s as advertised. Pasture golf and bring fishing gear for bass. Odd smell in cabin on arrival easily aired out. All amenities worked great.

Overall it was an enjoyable stay. Diane and Frank are gracious hosts. The place is located under amazingly dark skies, which makes for great stargazing at night. We visited during the peak of the Perseids meteor shower and witnessed numerous shooting stars.
Our kids were looking forward to fishing in the lake but unfortunately, it was completely swamped with weeds, making fishing impossible.

My family spent the weekend here and had a wonderful time. My teenage son and his friend were on the lake fishing all the time. We could relax under the shade of the large tree by the dock on the lake. We also went down to the Eel river and found a spot that the water was deep and great for swimming and we even took our paddle boards. Great get away to a tranquil place. The hosts are great and very informative with any help you may need

We spent 2 nights over a weekend and really enjoyed the stay. It was relaxing stay and get away from the daily hassles for adults. Also got to play little bit of golf. Kids enjoyed fishing and boating experience.
We forgot a wetsuit at the property and the owner was kind enough to ship to us 👍

We love the house, spacious, comfortable, and with big glass windows to see all the fauna activity. The house has AC units and made our stay during a heat wave very comfortable. We loved the easy access to the lake (right off the house!), the swing, and their boats. We saw horses, rabbits, tons of birds, and deer. The location is remote so make sure you bring all your groceries. Very peaceful, we will come back for sure!

This is a wonderful, relaxing, fun, retreat. Feels like your in the wilderness, with many forest animals and wildlife. The home is so welcoming and homey. The owners responded to all our questions very timely. Thank you Diane and hubby for a wonderful stay.

Disappointed
Location, internet speed, and size of property okay. The sugar ant problem is awful with ants in all rooms especially the kitchen plus bedrooms and living room. The lake is overgrown with weeds for swimming purposes so we used the Eel river. The owners never responded to my text on bringing charcoal or need for live bait but they did text asking when I would arrive so a return text was an option.

We enjoyed our stay getting to relax in a quiet place. We caught fish, went swimming off the dock, did paddle boating, met the horse Penny, saw a wild pig in the yard each night and other wildlife. It was a great stay.

Slice of Peaceful
We were looking for a place to escape the fireworks that our dog has pretty bad issues with and this was what we were hoping for. The property is teeming with wildlife; birds, rabbits, deer, toads, fish. The lake has a paddle boat, canoe, and duck boat for your use. We went fishing and didn't catch anything but we only brought bait for trout and apparently there's black bass (Diane and Frank do offer lures for them). The kitchen is fully stocked with pretty much anything you'd need to cook and everything was clean. Do not expect to use any kind of video streaming while you're here, their internet is limited so download what you want before you come up. Diane was very responsive and sweet. Thank you for having us!

Great stay!
We used this during our visit to the Kate Wolf festival in Laytonville. Lots of wild animals that our family enjoyed looking for each evening—-bear cubs, deer, raccoons, and fox!

Diane’s place was amazing
We had a great time enjoying the lake, golf course and star gazing. Diane and Frank were amazing hosts.

This place was amazing, and Frank + Diane were super easy to reach and very accommodating. The house and property are exactly as described -- my boyfriend is an avid fisher, and he had the best time on the private lake and caught some sizeable bass (no catfish or perch or anything though). The house was cozy, the electric fireplace was very nice. We brought our 10-month old dog up there and she had the most wonderful time -- she got to run around in the fully fenced in fruit orchard to the side of the house, and got to go play by the lake when we were fishing. The fishing dock is great, too -- though a proper tarp on top of the mesh covering on the roof of it would be nice for the winter time. Honestly everything was perfect - the only issue that I personally encountered was the very slow wifi, because I did have to work 3 or 4 days of our trip and my work requires me to be on my company's server and on excel + powerpoint all day. The listing and the instructions in the house 100% state the limited wifi, so I was not surprised at all -- though I do think some faster wifi for streaming, and a smart tv, would make it reallyyyyy perfect. I like being off the grid and off of technology as much as possible, but I would like to be able to use streaming when we go up there again (which we definitely will be doing in the summer).

Great time
Had a great time out in a very secluded area with my family and dogs. Great retreat!

You could not find better hosts. The property is remote but has everything you would need to play and cook. We played golf and brought our SUP paddle boards up and went into the lake. Weather very hot during afternoon hours but the house was quiet for reading and relaxing from the outside world. Wild life is plentiful...even a blacktailed deer going after my pink golf ball thinking it was fruit. Our two dogs enjoyed the freedom to roam.

Beautiful Property for a Great Weekend Getaway
The property is beautiful and offers plenty of open space and privacy, making it perfect for a weekend getaway. My entire family had a great time swimming in the lake and the nearby river, cruising around on the pedal boat, using the rope swing, etc. The hosts were friendly, welcoming, helpful, and responsive.

Peaceful getaway
The house didn’t look like much when we pulled up, but it was very spacious and clean. The property was huge, but it was too hot to venture out too far. We went to the lake which was a short walk, but didn’t catch any fish but my girls still had fun. My girls were looking forward to going swimming, but there is a lot of growth in the lake. It’s very peaceful out there, but a mission to get there. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed the beautiful views and peaceful environment here! Our teenagers were happy to set off on their own to explore the lake via boat and walking around, and challenging themselves on the rope swing. A highlight was enjoying the starry skies at the fire pit. Thank you.

Unplug and relax
Great place to get away from all the noise. The host is wonderful and very respective of the guests. We had a wonderful time enjoying the lake, canoe, paddle boat and surroundings. We identified 72 species of birds and loved walking around the grounds. A bit of a drive from the highway but for us it was well worth it. I would recommend staying here for anyone that loves the outdoors and the country. Thanks for the eggs and the vegetables for the horse, we loved it all!!
