Breakfast was very good. Lovely spacious room , with everything you needed. Friendly, polite staff in a beautiful setting and a lovely historic building.
Wi - fi was a bit sketchy in our room
4.0 / 5.0
ambience of property and size of our room (staff were a bonus)
would have liked a) lighter duvet or sheet b) a safe c) a small fridge
and the restaurant was sadly very disappointing (breakfast was excellent)

Everything, the room, the bed, the food, the staff, the gardens, the setting, the history, just fabulous
I liked everything, as mentioned above, we stayed here to go to glyndebourne, perfect location, only 7 miles away. Just loved the whole experience

Beautiful property and suite. Second time staying here and we’ve just booked a third! The health club down the road is excellent and very welcoming of guests.

Breakfast very good and nice big room to stay in!
main dining room being refurbished so had to use smaller breakfast room but still very nice

Breakfast was good but not exceptional.
The beef in the Beef stew and dumplings was not good quality. As the portion size was modest (not a complaint) there was no excuse not to use the best quality beef available.
Overall, dinner was good.
4.5 / 5.0
Great breakfast. Dinner a little disappointing. Turkey Ballantine rather dry. Fondue potatoe on menu- not delivered! A slice of boiled potato with butter is NOT a fondue potatoe!
Initial bill presented to friends also staying was wrong- included items not ordered. Would have liked a foot stall in bedroom suite

I realise that we booked one of the less expensive rooms, but I was surprised not to see a single picture on its walls. Also we found no facial tissues in the room -- pretty basic,

The hotel was very comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We were attending performances at Glyndebourne and the hotel was ideally situated, only 20 minutes from the theatre.

Great location, beautiful building.

Breakfast was good quality with a nice set of choices. On the slow side but we were not in a hurry. The setting is very special and my two spaniels loved exploring the park.
All pretty good. The lift is very slow but we were not in a hurry. However, taking the stairs to the second floor is quite a climb.

Very good - pity the greek yohurt ran out - a very wide range of choices and very tempting to eat too much. My companion would have appreciated a pain au chocolat but the toast was good and the orange juice excellent.
It would be easy to say I would have liked this or that but what was on offer was excellent and very much in keeping with the style of the hotel - personal requests were well accommodated

Beautiful grounds, common areas, restaurant. Really beautiful hotel. Terrific breakfast (smoked haddock was outstanding). Lovely bathroom. Really liked the buttons in the shower to switch the different heads on. Small thing but why isn't this the standard?
Perfect place to stay for Glyndebourne. We've come back for a second visit.
Not really a criticism. The facilities (like sports stuff, gym etc) are sort of non existent (I think?) though there seemed to be an old tennis court. But this means the hotel can offer luxury at a very reasonable price. I wasn't looking for sports etc. Know what you're getting though...

The area is beautiful, the hotel is nice, the garden is fabulous.
Not to generous hospitality. No sleepers. Only one kind of each amenities , although we were 2 guests.
In total .. over priced. We expected much more.

Location and gorgeous property
2.0 / 5.0
The hotel was beautiful and in a lovely, quiet location with extensive grounds. Initial welcome was warm and staff attentive.
Bar menu was a little fussy and whilst offers of alternatives were agreed, they were not forthcoming due to staff being busy.
Children of hotel guests were found unsupervised in the bar area and loudly roaming the halls into the early hours of the morning. This was not conducive to the relaxing stay that we had hoped for.

Lovely spacious rooms, well decorated with plenty of furniture. Terrific grounds and great staff.
