About this house rental

Be just steps away from La Jolla’s quieter Windansea beach when you stay at this beautiful newly renovated surf nest decorated in a boho mid century beach theme. Spend the day at the beach, just two blocks away, or at the home’s private pool. In addition to being just 2 blocks from the beach, you’ll be close walking distance to La Jolla and Bird Rock restaurants, coffee, cafes, shops, and a Sunday morning Farmer’s Market. There are also nearby trails, caves, and seals to check out.

The one story home features 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One bedroom with king size bed opens out to the pool. Another bedroom, with queen size bed, looks at a private patio. Third bedroom offers twin bunk bed plus trundle rollout twin, to sleep 3 separately, and opens to its own private patio.

The main living areas include a spacious living room with plenty of seating and a large flat screen tv. Dining room includes a large table with seating for six and a fireplace. Desk and chair and extra rolling computer tray are available for remote workers. Living and dining areas walk out to a private patio with pool, outdoor dining table and chairs, barbecue grill, and fireplace.

The newly updated kitchen offers all appliances including stove, oven, microwave oven, filtered water, refrigerator with water and ice dispenser, coffee maker, dishwasher, and many pots, pans, utensils, cooking and pantries supplies you may need.

The home is equipped with extra linens, towels, beach towels, and beach umbrella. It is also stocked with toiletries and a hair dryer. As well as cards, games, puzzles, books, and DVD movies. The laundry room is available with a washing machine, dryer, detergent, iron, and ironing board.

Fir those traveling with babies, we have a new Graco pack-n-play with sheets, that also has a bassinet feature for younger babies.

Three parking spots are provided and plenty of parking in front.

Things you should know:
- Like most coastal homes, this home does not have air conditioning. Rooms have quiet high speed ceiling fans for extra breeze if needed. The house has heat.
- The pool is not heated
- No smoking in or on property.
- There are 3 steps to enter the property. There is 1 step into a shower. Which might not make the home suitable for everyone.
- Pet friendly fenced in yard
- Quieter neighborhood suitable for quieter guests. Excessive noise, occupancy and/or parties are not allowed.

We really enjoyed the week at the Surf Nest. Great location for walking to Windansea beach, driving downtown to Seaworld and the zoo, or north to La Jolla shores beach. Our family loved the comfortable, clean house and spending time in the pool. Highly recommend. Home owner was very responsive.

We were a family of four adults and one child and especially liked the spaciousness of the home. It was clean and supplied with everything we needed. It was just as lovely as pictured. My 6yr old grandson especially loved the pool and toasting marshmallows in the outside fireplace. My only suggestion would be able to open the queen bedroom window. It looked like the original window with no screen. There was an extra fan to use but fresh air would be nice.

We had the best time in San Diego and this house was awesome! We could walk to the beach every morning! The house was perfect for our family to lounge at the end of a day of exploring. The pool was such a bonus. This house was clean, beautiful, very well stocked and the beds were so comfortable. We loved our stay!

We had a lovely stay at the beach house! It was the perfect spot to explore La Jolla and the Bird Rock neighborhood. The nearby Windandsea Beach was great for lounging and watching the waves and surfers. The pool was a little chilly in June but that didn’t stop my youngest daughter (12) from swimming. We arrived at night so it was a little hard to find in the dark, even with detailed directions, and we had a small issue with the key code not working, but our host resolved it quickly. Once inside, everything about our stay was great!

Amazing property and location. Regarding the pool, it is not heated and making swimming difficult unless you can tolerate cold water. Although it works great as a cold water plunge after a long day!

Very nice and clean property walking distance to the beach. Everything you need to cook as well as the beach. Nice area with bbq and outside dining. Instructions were very clear and easy to get to but hard to see the property address at night. Took us a while to find the right door. We were looking for the numbers on the fences but no biggie once we found it. Nice and quiet and relaxing.

Overall property was wonderful. Easy check-in, communication with host Wonderful. Pool looked like it was in the process of being vacuumed and it stayed that way our whole stay. Needed work. Little more attention to detail required by cleaning crew. Crumbs in the kitchen drawers, vents above in the bathroom needs cleaning But nothing that would make you feel uncomfortable. Beautiful kitchen, great bedding, and towels. Very comfortable house and area. Easy access to beautiful restaurants, peaches, and shopping. Nice safety features in the house. Would definitely stay there again.

We had a great week at Surf Nest. The house is gorgeous, well appointed and peaceful. We enjoyed walking two blocks to the beach every morning and the proximity to markets, bars and restaurants for our adult children. We also had a wonderful game night with extended family with lots of space for everyone. The outdoor space with the pool and seating is fabulous as well.

The house was great - layout perfect, very pretty, had everything we needed. The outdoor space was lovely. The location was fantastic - 2 blocks to the ocean, walking distance to shops, etc but still very quiet and peaceful. The hosts were wonderful! We would stay again definitely!

We enjoyed our stay at this home. The location is excellent. Easily accessible to larger attractions and local town eateries. At the time went, the local beach didnt have anywhere for our kids to play on sand would be only comment for others to know. We drove about 10 min to get to excellent beach with park. Overall, We would stay here again. Thank you for an excellent stay.

Our yearly family vacation was set and La Jolla was the destination. The house was beautiful and very accommodating. The beach was just about a block away and the view was wonderful! I will say that coming from Texas the house not having air conditioning was scary 😆, but didn't even notice any heat issues. Will definitely keep this house in mind for another getaway. Wonderful stay!

We loved the Lower Hermosa Beach house. It's walking distance to Windansea beach. The neighborhood is perfect. The home is beautifully renovated with a large kitchen with a spacious island, great living room with a huge TV. The bathrooms are gorgeous with pretty, ocean-blue tiles. The bedrooms have comfortable beds and soft bedding perfect for a family of 5 or 6. We loved the artwork, some of which was done by the owner. We will definitely be back to this magical spot.

It was our first trip to La Jolla and it was everything we hoped. The house was beautiful, well-stocked, and clean! We didn't get to enjoy the pool because of the weather, but it looked refreshing. The front and back yards were well-groomed. Hosts were super-responsive, which was appreciated. Location from the beach is perfect! Thanks for a great stay!

Our family has an incredible time at this property. The house is newly renovated and beautifully blends a new mid century modern design with some original features from when it was built. The house was clean and was stocked with everything you need to enjoy your time away from home. Lastly, the area, wow! La Jolla in my opinion is one of the nicest areas in the US. Many things to do within walking distance or a short drive, and the zoo, downtown and many other great places were only a 20 minute commute. Also, Windasea beach which is steps away from the house, magical at sunset. Book this property, you will not be disappointed.

We had a wonderful stay at the Surf Nest, which was in a prime location (and fairly quiet) for walkability to the beach/eateries. The house itself is well-appointed and cozy and we appreciated the treats left for us by the host. Highly suitable for adult groups; families with older children would be fine, too (there’s a pool and glass furniture, so maybe not for families with very small children).
