There was no breakfast. We stayed in rm 2. There was only one comfortable chair and there was 2 of us there was definitely room for another chair. Was surprised there was no hair dryer. The bed was awesome.

We loved the history of The Monarch Hotel. It is a beautiful building and they have done an amazing job of keeping the aesthetic. The staff was very accommodating and friendly! The location is also great! We felt super safe and our room was very clean.
The only complaints that I have were that the quality of bedding, towels and such was horrible. I have never slept on such scratchy and low quality sheets. The towels were the same. Very hard and uncomfortable. The toilet paper was like sand paper. I would love to stay there again, but hope they up their quality of bedroom supplies!

Nothing to not like!

The Monarch Hotel was great. I took my two adult children and their spouses. We stayed in Suite #5. We especially loved the covered deck overlooking the bay and the Victorian architecture, and it'slocatedon Water Street whichisthemainstreet. . The room was clean. The kitchen had the basic pots and dishes, and the bathroom had a great tub/shower. The staff were friendly.
The front door, bathroom door and the door to the balcony are in need of some WD-40. The electric woodstove wasn't working.

Loved the location and nostalgia.
The desk clerk asked if we wanted two physical keys and we replied that we did. Then she looked for the second key and told me that she couldn’t locate it. This was disconcerting to find that the clerk was not concerned that the extra key was missing. My friend and I both felt unsafe and I felt like I needed to block the door just in case someone else had the key during the night.

We loved the historic property. It certainly could use a refresh but it was clean, comfortable and a good price. The front desk person was very kind and helpful.

Our room was first floor and easily accessible-- a few stairs. The view is of lovely harbor, sail boats, kayaks, the ferry boat coming into view. It was quiet.
Amazing location.
The hostess brought us a special fresh grind of decaf for our room coffee machine.
We hadn't noticed the contact info for help with initiating the Tech equipment for netflicks movies. We couldn't watch a movie ( But we both brought a good read)
The upstairs noises were apparent in the evening at bedtime, like phone ringing.

Location was great!
A bit noisy, but to be expected where it was. Also was a steampunk event going on.

Mary was very welcoming and stuck around after checkin to help trouble shoot. She also operates a wonderful native American art store in the lobby. We enjoyed coffee out the back deck with views of Puget Sound..
No hot water in shower We left the next morning so why complain. No fridge nor kettle in common kitchen or non kitchen room.

Awesome view, comfy beds, fab location.
The hanging swing located on our private deck was taped off to dissuade hotel guests from sitting on it. The ceiling fan light on one of the fans would not turn off, so fan could not be used all night.

This is a classic old hotel with a varied history in the middle of Port Townsend - a classic, Victoria-era seaport with a thriving boating community. The old hotel has great woodwork, high ceilings, and large windows with wood frames. It's classic and, for me, a must-stay type of hotel if you want to experience downtown Port Townsend. It's also a small hotel with limited staff, but they are incredible profession and attentive.

I would sincerely thank Mary waiting for us checkin after 10pm. We have been to Port Townsend a few times, and never had reservation on Ferry during weekdays. However, the ferry schedules reduced, due to the total vessels changed from 2 to 1. We waited 2 sailings, and had a vary late check in. Mary did a quick smooth check in for us. The hotel beds are comfortable, room is very large with high ceiling, and high windows, had a feeling of Back In Time! Nice stay!

The location of the hotel was perfect. The building was charming and our rooms were clean and welcoming.
Some minor repairs to fixtures could be done. The drawer fronts in the kitchen were missing or falling off. The curtain hold backs were falling off the wall.

Funky place in historic part of town. Amazing guest services.
Heat hard to control.

Location is perfect. But this an old building. The wind blows thru the windows which have no sealing, so expect drafts in cold weather. And of course no elevator. But it’s clean and comfortable.
The front desk staff was kind of grumpy. She was not very welcoming, and complained about the town politics. She explained that the 2 hour parking signs have not been enforced for 3 years, and how potholes are not being fixed, etc. I would have preferred something cheerier.

No breakfast but lots of options close by.
Need to provide more coffee cups in room. Only two paper cups provided and if you want to keep your coffee or tea warm need a paper holder or extra cup. Only dried milk packets provided. Perhaps creamers in the fridge would provide a better experience. The walls are very thin and if you have loud people in the room below or beside you sleep is impossible. Bring earplugs. Parking on the street says 2 hrs everywhere and we were told to park on the street. We didn’t get a ticket but I can imagine during the summer months they will give parking tickets.

lLoved the historic building. The manager was super friendly and resolved a problem the booking.com ignored. Room was spacious, comfortable with a great view and convenient to shops and restaurants!
Nothing. Booking.com ignored my email and never responded to the request. Will not likely use this site to book any future stays or recommend!

It’s a quaint old building located right downtown. This is not the place to stay if you want the modern amenities of big hotel chains. But if you want to stay somewhere clean and comfortable, and totally unique with old fashion charm, this place is great.
