We had a good stay at Manresa Castle. The building and its history are intriguing. Amber Dawn at the front desk was welcoming and helpful. She told us to try the Blue Moose something for brunch and we liked it. Bed was comfortable. The old elevator was cool.

We were there for a few days to visit port Townsend. It is a mile or so from downtown but overall a nice stay.

IAAQ cant wait to stay there again. It was definitly amazing.

Bucket list!!
Interior updates in rooms. Nice lounge and restaurant, but no breakfast area only a small microwave, so bring breakfast and eat in room.
Need car.
Lots of construction noise from hospital renovations next door.
We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which was very spacious, water view, updated bathroom, and a small coffee pot. There was a lot of noise and music from the bar directly below until 9PM.
Overall spacious room with clean comfortable bed and hot shower!

What a great little gem this place is! Great location and lots to see and do.
3.0
The place has great inherent beauty which is well preserved and much appreciated. Consistent with the age of the place, the ventilation is inadequate by today's standards leaving the room "stuffy" and too warm on a summer night.

We had a fabulous time staying at Manresa Castle. The castle was completed in 1892 so getting inside was a little difficult because my friend and I are disabled and there are a lot of stairs to enter the building. There is one ramped sidewalk to skip the first set of stairs but there is no way to enter the main bldg without stairs. Once inside there is an elevator.
The staff were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful with anything that you might need. They even upgraded us to a larger room than we had reserved. I can't say enough good things about all of the staff, all great people.
The castle was built in the European style so some rooms do not have their own bathroom, they do have bathrooms on each floor and there are rooms available with bathrooms - pay attention when booking if you need privacy..
There is a restaurant in the castle, currently it's Mexican food and very good. It's separately run from the hotel. The staff seemed more interested in their personal conversations than welcoming patrons. We seated ourselves and then had to go get our servers.
The castle grounds are very nice, they have a beautiful garden and a huge courtyard in the back with covered seating so you can relax in shade.
Finally, it's a castle - it's world famous for being haunted! Manresa Castle has been featured on a few paranormal/ghost hunters TV shows and they do allow you to ghost hunt.
We'll definitely recommend staying at the castle.

This is a well maintained historical building that is perfect as a hotel. We really enjoyed the setting and the friendly staff.

This is an interesting historic property. We appreciated the old photos displayed in the parlor area. The location was very convenient for our purposes, as we were visiting a friend who lives nearby. My only complaint is the scarcity of outlets in the rooms in this device-dependent age we live in.

We checked into the hotel and the property is clearly very worn. The problem came with the possible dust and other airborne particles. My husband’s allergies were so aggravated that he threw up in the parking lot. We left the hotel to get dinner and he was still sick. We checked out without using the room at all. We were not able to obtain a refund because we had not given 48 hours notice. We paid well over $150 for the room. Had he not been physically affected, we would have reluctantly stayed. They need to do a top to bottom serious cleaning of the property. We have never had this experience before.

Great history! Our room was beautiful with incredible view. The only downside is that the restaurant was not open for breakfast.

Beautiful property, and it was very convenient to have a restaurant on site. The staff were all very kind and helpful. The rooms are spare, but that's part of the charm. Very glad we stayed here.

I love the Manresa Castle, love its history, had a haunting experience the first time I stayed there, not so much this time but that was fine..Looks like it has a fresh paint job on the outside and the building looks very nice, Carpets look dirty around the edges and as I get older im a bit anti carpet but I understand that it goes with the castle, decor etc..

I've passed this place several times and was curious about it. The stay was fine but felt expensive for the price I paid (it was high season). The bed was really soft but there was DirectTV so I could watch Olympics. It was a 3 flight walk to my room; I suppose there was an elevator but I wasn't directed to that. It also didn't seem to have good handicapped access to the entry.

Interesting old building with a varied history; I often seek out converted period homes instead of purpose-built motels/inns, and this fit the bill. The downside is the challenge of adding electrical wiring to a 19th century building for the 21st century, and inconsistent furnishings: the room is big enough for a couple of comfy chairs and a wardrobe, instead of the one wooden chair and small table. Lovely big bathroom though!

Property is very unique and interesting. Staff was kind and attentive. Rooms were simple and decently comfortable. Room smelled a bit musty but running the fan and opening the window aired out the room quickly.
Big issue was that there was an odor of sewage going into the room that kept us awake most of the night. Opening the windows and keeping the bathroom ventilation fan on did not help.
Also note that rooms do not have air conditioning. It was cool during our visit so temperature was not an issue for us.

It was not expensive. It did not have a view as advertised. One must climb steep stairs to get in the building. Then, I was in the third floor. They have the oldest elevator still in operation (so says the plaque.) It must be operated by the staff. If they’re busy, you wait. Not terrible—nice staff—but a little inconvenient. The shower is so small I couldn’t wash my feet. Bathroom window didn’t close so I put my violin case in front of it so I wasn’t visible to the neighborhood. Nothing was terrible, but as I age it gets more difficult to do this. I wish Expedia had a way of alerting mobility challenged people this may not be the place to stay.

Had such a wonderful time staying here, loved the area, the hotel and restaurant located inside.

Room was not well furnished and barely enough room to put your toilet articles out. No air conditioning even though they did provide a portable fan. Rugs in hallway were not clean. Bed was ok. The room was overpriced for what was provided.

Very nice old place, well maintained. Since it is old the floors do make creaking noises, so if someone in the room above you goes to the restroom at 3:50 am you may notice it.
Staff were very friendly at the desk and shout out to Gabriel in the restaurant!! Very nice guy.

Amber Dawn was AWESOME!!!! She was so helpful, friendly, and interested in our experience while staying at the castle.
It was a great experience and a beautiful memory!

OK, first the positives. This hotel is historic meaning if you love wood, carpets, and that late 19th century feel, this is the place to stay. The front door staff was friendly. Now, the negatives. This place is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. There are step ups and step downs all over the building and there are many steps to get into the building. You have to carry your luggage up all those steps. Also, be sure to ask if your room includes a bathroom. We found out ours, although private, was down the hall. It would of been nice to know this ahead of time. Also, on one night, we learned the owner was having his birthday and apparently the quiet time does not apply to him. Sadly our room was directly above the restaurant which meant we had singing and loud music until 1:30AM. Lastly, there is no air conditioning in the rooms, and no tissue paper in either the room or the bathroom. I really wanted to like this place but I could not. There were just too many negatives.

Manresa Castle is a great, historic hotel; would definitely stay there again.

The room, 315, that I had was newly refurbished, all new bathroom, floor, tub-shower. No clothes hook in bathroom. No clothes closet or hangers, just a 4 hook rack, has a new mini refrigerator, cold clean. Bed comfortable but slight sag to one side. Carpet looks new, 2 chairs ok, wide-screen TV with Directv service. But the TV audio not setup correctly TV setup not available to user. Overall a nice quiet clean room on 3rd floor, (walkup).

We had 80 degree weather, so we used the ceiling fan which didn't help much. Opened the window late at night and it smelled like a sewer, so we just had to deal with the heat. He surrounding areas of the castle can really take you out of the vibe with the construction and pot-holed parking lot/alley.

Very unique and a bit creepy. It was fun. The bed we had was terrible. An old box springs. But it was clean.

Very comfortable. Great view. The room is in good condition but other parts of the castle feel a little abandoned.
I would go back.

This was a lovely place to stay! Beds were comfortable too. Only downside was no AC and only one room has a ceiling fan. We had 2 bedrooms per room.

The rooms were without air conditioning so opening the window was essential. In the middle of the night, low-tide smelled so horrible, the windows had to be closed. So it just got worse. When the windows were open, there were no screens so bugs were able to fly in at will. Awful.
