Clean, comfortable beds, great location, kitchen stocked with all the basics, and easy check in process. Even nicer than the pictures. Couldn’t ask for more. We will be looking to stay here again the next time we visit!

Our family had a wonderful stay in this cozy house! The location is on a quiet street that is walkable to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia is just a short drive away. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Would definitively stay here again!

The location of the house to bar harbor was fantastic.
As mentioned in other reviews there was a musty smell when got there, but it quickly disappeared when we opened the windows. The musty smell comes from the fact that there is no air conditioning to get rid of the humidity and because of the basement has no dehumidifiers. Put a couple of those in the basement and I think the smell would be minimal.
Also the back yard is not usable. The weeds are kind of out of control out there.
Still you can’t beat the location.

Close, within walking distance of all the downtime, but far enough away from the bustle to have some quiet space. No air conditioning but lots of open windows and nights were cool.

Our book club group of 7 stayed at this cottage for a 5 day stay. We really enjoyed Bar Harbor and the cottage was within walking distance to lots of shopping and restaurants. It is also very close to the Cadillac Mountain entrance of Acadia. The house had all we needed and we especially appreciated the washer and dryer. I wish I’d noticed that they don’t have AC but they do provide a bunch of fans.

When you first walk in you notice a strong musty smell. The kitchen is nicely updated but the carpets and blankets, pillows, sheets smell very strongly. No air conditioning is fine since they provide fans. No toilet paper, or basic supplies in the kitchen like spices, butter, or sugar for coffee.
Property manager was responsive when we thought there was an issue with the water but it was clear he didn't even know which property in Bar Harbor I was talking about. There's no communication and they charged me a pet fee even though I didn't bring any pets.

We loved our time at this cottage. The description is accurate, house very clean, kitchen well stocked. Very comfortable for 7 adults. We cooked a few lovely dinners at the cottage and the grill is new. Outdoor deck and backyard are lovely. The neighborhood is quiet and just a 3-5 minute walk to downtown. I would definitely stay here again with a group. Thank you -

The property was exactly as described and perfect for my husband & I, two adult children and dog. The fenced yard worked very well for our dog, but we didn’t spend too much time there. The location was a short walk to the Main Street and a quick drive to Acadia, so we made the most of the beautiful area.
Thank you for a very comfortable and clean property!

We had a great time with three generations. The location is awesome for walking into town and easy to get out of town and into the park.

Wonderful Bar Harbor vacation for an active family of young adults and older parents. The house's location and ease made biking, hiking, boating, swimming, dining, and touring easily accessible.

Location was PHENOMENAL to downtown Bar Harbor and to Acadia as well as the rest of MDI. Comfortable living space for 8 people and a dog. Grill out back made it easy to grill at home and there was PLENTY of cooking utensils in the kitchen. There was a whole setup to cook your own lobster dinner at home! Pot, boiler attached to grill outside, cracking utensils, etc. We wish we knew that before we bought burgers! Regardless, the place was fantastic. Highly recommend.

We had a great time while staying here for a few days. There was plenty of space and perfectly located. We could easily get to downtown by walking and it was a short drive to the hikes we wanted to do. The house had everything we needed from kitchen supplies, to extra towels, and even laundry detergent. Would stay again. My only complaints would be we brought our dog and had to keep him on a leash in the backyard. There were a few spot where I think he could have escaped from the back yard. Also the wi-fi had a few moments during our stay where it would just slow down to a crawl. Overall a great time and would definitely stay again.

If you are looking to be super close to downtown Bar Harbor (10 min walk to the water, where the Bar Harbor Inn is located) then this is your spot! It is also on a very quiet street so you are separate from the crowds downtown. Back yard is fenced in but could use some maintenance to fix a couple of questionable spots. It is also not grass in the back yard but instead all wood chips. Be prepared for no AC and using fans during your stay here. Thankfully while I was here (mid-Sep) the temperatures were in my favor and I had windows open and it was brisk at night for easy sleeping. House offers a lot of space and is overall worth it!! I would definitely book this place again!

My friends and I really enjoyed the stay. The location is perfect. The house is so lovely. The kitchen is well designed and organized. It’s a very pleasant experience to cook for a bunch of people. The only thing for us is we couldn’t find trash bags to replace the full one and the trash can where we could dispose our trash. We tried to leave the trash outside on the deck but it ended up being gone through by animals. We took it back in the house but it stunk.
All the other things are really good. It’s a lifetime memory for all of us.

Great location! Nice property, listing was accurate, and it slept our group of seven (7) well (mix of adults, teens, and a younger child).

The property was large enough to comfortably accommodate my husband and I and our 3 adult children and their significant others. Close enough to walk to bars and restaurants.
2.0 / 5.0
The good news is that this property is in a good location as we were able to walk to all the places in downtown Bar Harbor. Otherwise, not too many positives.
I knew this ahead of time but be aware there's no air conditioning in the house. Fans are supplied but during the day in the summer it gets very hot. There were ants in the kitchen. The blinds over the sliding glass door in the kitchen required two people to open as the string you pull to open the blinds did not work. Two of the beds were very hard.
In the living room, there's one small TV which is difficult to view given the layout. The owner should consider moving it to the other side and getting a bigger TV.
Communication with the owner was virtually non-existent as I messaged him a couple of times with questions before I arrived and he did not respond for about five days.

Family vacation in Bar Harbor
mostly absolutely fantastic. the house was very clean and very nicely located to walk into the town of bar harbor. however, and we knew this going into the rental, NO AIRCONDITIONING. There are stand alone fans throughout the house but that was just not enough. the temperature reached the mid 90's while we were there and it was unbearable. very hard to sleep at night and just too hot in the house. Also, the back yard is fenced in (we had 3 dogs with us) but its an older fence and there are numerous holes in the fencing and no gate on the deck. all in all it was a good vacation I would suggest to the owner to invest in some air conditioning and a new fence.

Cozy home within blocks of the town center. We could walk into town to shop and dine (or, get on a boat for a tour), and only had to drive when we wanted to explore Acadia.

Great Location
The house is just a15 minute walk to Main Street and the town square. Perfect for shopping and dining. The house is cute, simple in decor. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware (pots & pans look new), plenty of silverware and knives as well as serving spoons, spatulas, etc, plenty of towels and toilet paper, too. Laundry in basement had a full supply of detergent, dryer sheets and Shout. Just be aware of the “fenced backyard “. Under the deck is completely open. A small to medium sized dog or even a child could easily crawl underneath and be out of the yard in a flash. There is an opening on the deck stairs that we had to block off, too. It’s in a nice, quiet neighborhood. There is a section of road where there are no visible houses where you can walk dogs. We really enjoyed our stay. I hope to book again next year.

Cozy cottage in a great location
This was our first winter vacation on Mount Desert Island and it was great to spend it in Bar Harbor with no crowds and close to all the hiking we wanted to do on the island. The cottage was comfortable though we were a bit disappointed that the wood stove in the pictures had been removed.
