This peaceful cozy pet friendly home sits on top of a hill overlooking the Siltcoos Lake, the largest freshwater lake on the Oregon Coast offering 2 complete separate living areas (upper and lower) views from the living room, master bedroom and patio as well as scenic views of the Siuslaw National forest and mountains.
A spacious master suite with king bed and lake views, two additional bedrooms one with a queen bed the other with a queen/twin bunkbed , 3 bathrooms (1 1/2 upper level 1 1/2 lower level), 2 kitchens and dining areas with plenty of seating for the whole family. Cozy living rooms on each level, an out door dinning table with seating for 8.
Siltcoos Lake:
The largest lake on the central Oregon coast is also one of the region’s best fishing lakes, especially for warm water fish including largemouth bass.
It also is one of the few lakes in Oregon where you can keep a wild coho salmon in season.
Siltcoos Lake is a sprawling 3,164 acres located between Florence and Reedsport in the wonderful dune country of the central coastline.
Siltcoos is one of the most celebrated largemouth bass fisheries in Oregon and is among those mentioned in our article, Best Largemouth Bass Fishing in Western Oregon.
You’ll find tons of good bass cover all over the lake here, including fallen trees, drop-offs, points, islands and numerous coves and several longer creek arms. There also are some docks, especially where there are a fair number of private homes along the banks on the west and north sides of the lake, many clustered around the communities of Dunes City and North Beach.
Bass will often move up into the shallower water during the spring, when they spawn just off shore, and they can be aggressive then. They will stage a bit more off shore at other times.
Crappie also like to hang out around structure and may be found in shallower water during the spring. Sunken trees and pilings are good places to start.
Also, the lake is known to have good populations of less-pursued species including yellow perch, sunfish and bullhead catfish.
Trout are not the primary quarry for anglers here, but the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife does stock a modest number of rainbow trout here. Look for those plantings to take place in late winter or early spring (March and April are good times to check the stocking schedule linked below).
Native cutthroat trout also live in the lake and its tributary streams and may be kept as part of your daily trout limit.
The coho salmon fishery here opens in October and runs through December. Fishing for these fish is usually not productive until significant rainfall draws in these large fish, which most often happens in November.
There are a modest number of coho caught and kept here, but it’s a fairly unique opportunity. Boaters catch most of the adult coho, often by trolling wobbling lures in the creek channels the salmon use to return to their home streams.
What’s nearby:
This home is a quick drive from multiple access points to the Oregon Dunes and ocean
beaches including the popular access just out South Jetty Road, and the city of Florence is five miles north. The charming Old Town section of the city
is filled with lovely shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants.
You will also be minutes from numerous trailheads for hiking or mountain biking. The
coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean.
Some trails wind up, over, and through sand dunes, offering hikers the opportunity to
experience the unique natural wonders of this area. Bring your camera!
Paddle Siltcoos River between Siltcoos Lake and the Pacific Ocean. This slow-moving,
three-mile river is so ideal for paddlers that it’s a designated Canoe Trail.
Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are
offered daily.
Get your adrenalin flowing on a nearby dune buggy tour or with an ATV rental, or go crabbing from the Siuslaw Bay public fishing pier at the end of South Jetty road
where crabbing is excellent from late spring until the fresh water from winter rains force
the crabs out to the ocean.

Very nice setting overlooking the lake. plenty of supplies/dishes/cookware to prepare meals. Downside was the extremely low water pressure. Parking, entry and exit were difficult.

Really liked the 2 living quarters. The house was clean and plenty of stuff for a long stay. Water pressure was really low. Took longer to bath and when someone downstairs was using water it barely flowed upstairs. Nice rooms and beds. Would stay here again.

This is a great place to stay. House was very nice and comfortable, might have had been better if the front yard was clean ( weed’s). My small 8 1/2 pound dog slid down to a hole area in front of the home and I had to get her out myself as she is got weed needles all over her and stung by them and didn’t want to move no more to get out.
We did have a small atv trailer and getting to property is in a small hill and no turning point in it. Glad we had other 2 homes rented in the same area and there was space in in the other 2 homes.
Upstairs has 2 rooms awesome rooms, living room would have had been better with a sofa bed as I had 3 couples in my group and no extra room upstairs. Downstairs was great for the single guys in our group :)

We loved the deck! Amazing views and cool breezes off the deck sliding glass doors. PLUS! Fans in every room! The rooms were all clean and well appointed. Couch and rocking chairs were so comofrtable! We loved spending time together upstairs and then separating and having our own space in the late evening. The driveway is steep but we had no problems with 2 cars- 1 in the garage and 1 in front. Kitchen, laundry and bathrooms were new and easy to clean. Fireplace downstairs with the bunkbeds was family friendly and cozy! The only complaint, which may not be valid so far in nature, but there were alot of spiderwebs, all around the railing of deck and the awning. However, I cleaned it all up with a broom and we only saw 1 spider in 4 days. Otherwise, the house was spotless, lots of towels and very well stocked with everything we needed. We wish there was a firepit. There was one in the photos but that belonged to the neighbor. Icemaker upstairs did not work. Make sure you get check-in instructions in advance as cell service may not work. The neighbor was kind and called the owners for us and we were finally able to get in. 1 key for all guests to share.

Comfortable ; nice location, clean, nice view, easy access to town and other places,. Everything we needed was there.
One thing - downstairs microwave didn’t work; would suggest more garbage bags and laundry soap

Absolutely beautiful property.

House is clean and has everything needed including a great washer and dryer. A little further off the highway than I expected but easy to navigate. I would definitely stay here again.

This was a great place to stay, very spacious and room for everyone. It was really nice having two areas for everyone to gather. The view from the porch was great to have coffee.

Location just outside of downtown Florence which gave privacy and a beautiful sunset view of the lake. Like the good old days of renting, some basics already there: salt, pepper, ect. Plenty of pots and pans, especially the 13x9 baking dish we needed! Comfortable heating controls when the weather turned. As described, the driveway is steep gravel. We kept one of the two cars in the garage. Just took a day to get the logistics down from coming and going!
Would recommend…the downstairs space connects via the garage so we could go between covered from the rain.

Everything was great. My only comment is that it really isn’t 3 bedrooms. The lower level, which has full kitchen 1 1/2 baths, and living room is open to the bed area. The lower level would be great for older kids who can sleep on their own while the adults can have the upper level, with full amenities to themselves.

The house was not ready at check in time. There was fish blood in the downstairs refrigerator the house smelled of fish. The bathrooms were not clean. Not at all lakefront property as pictured and stated. No lake access. Definitely would not rent this again.

Beautiful 2 story house with a lake view! My husband, daughter and I had a vacation with his brother and family. It was perfect to have 2 separate living areas, so we had our own space when needed, but then could be together every meal! Upstairs is a beautifully open concept for entertaining!!! Great communication and check in/out was easy! The roads are windy- but we are beginning to see this is just an Oregon coastline "thing". Worth the stay- would definitely come again!

Fabulous Lake House
We love the Deerhart Lakehouse so much. It’s a wonderful property, great view and not too far from town. The separate space is perfect for our teens to get away from the adults.

We absolutely loved this property. We felt comfortable and had plenty of space.
This is a great option for families. Everything we needed and the views were to die for!

Gorgeous view!
Wonderful vacation for our family reunion, with one guest coming all the way from Illinois! No complaints other than sleeping arrangements. The "walk through 360 view" of the property shows what appear to be futons in the upstairs living room. As 2 of my guests were solos, one had to sleep on the couch. Suggestions: remove the walk-thru video from your post. Provide an air mattress or similar in a closet for solo guests. Besides that, wonderful home, which provided us with coziness as well as separate space. The owner had everything we needed, and we all really enjoyed our vacation in Florence at Deerhart. Thank you!

Great view, quiet neighborhood
We enjoyed our stay at Deerhart. Lake view was gorgeous. Beds were comfortable. We have older children 9-18 so the two separate living quarters worked out great. My boys loved having their own kitchen.
Driveway is steep and hard to maneuver in but worked with our one van. More cars would have made it more challenging.
Kitchen was stocked with most everything you'd need. Would be nice if they provided things like coffee filters, baggies, and such. Also a laundry basket is needed. Water pressure was lacking so couldn't run washer and take showers at same time but not a big deal.
We found a deer tick on my son so check yourself if playing in yard.
Overall it was a great house and we would rent again. It is a 20ish minute drive to town so take that into account but it worked for us being out in nature and driving to the beach.
Communication with property management was fantastic.

A relaxing home away from home!
This was the *perfect* spot for our family's spring break getaway. Amazing view from the deck surrounded by birdsong throughout the day and frog croaks in the evening. My 14 year old son and his friend occupied the downstairs apartment which both allowed them to have fun AND made for a quieter and more serene vacation for me ;)
The house is clean and very ready for guests, with all the nice amenities (shampoo, soap, dishwasher and laundry detergent, paper towels, sponge).
The only very slight annoyance was that the internet was incredibly slow in the evenings. We managed without, but would have liked to settle in and watch a movie together. Internet speed was great during the day (my husband had some work calls and had no troubles).

Well appointed split level with beautiful lake views
We had a great time in Florence. This was an ideal location that allowed our family to stay upstairs while my parents stayed downstairs. This allowed for privacy with the only access to each via the garage. The views of the lake are fantastic from the 2nd floor deck. The house was clean and amenities were what we were looking for.
Of note: If coming after dark it came be difficult to find the house. There is a shared driveway with the address that ends is 99. Their address sign has reflectors so is easier to see. The driveway is steep (but this allows for the great lake views!) so use caution when entering and exiting.
We look forward to staying here again on our next vacation to Florence.

Great property, good view of lake. Our family of 8 had plenty of room to be together and all have our own private space as well!!

Beautiful home!
Plenty of room for the whole family (including a little, little, two teens, two parents and a mother-in-law). Beautiful view from the balcony. And all at an affordable price.

Lovely home
The house was very nice and super clean. Would have been nice to know ahead of time that the downstairs area is only accessed from the garage and that parking is very limited. With that said we very much enjoyed our stay.

It had a great balcony to the lake and two separate living floors.
It was great in all but there was no hot water for us. Although the property manager was very great with trying to fix the problem and communicating despite the holidays.

Nice quiet stay, manager checked in to make sure everything was going okay (it was). Very relaxing and peaceful.

Very nice home with lots of space with 2 living areas. Beautiful view of the lake. Overall a great place to stay!

Wonderful time
We booked the Deerhart house for a family getaway (adult children) and found it as advertised. The house is plain on the outside but very comfortable on the inside. We especially loved the porch with a lake view. The living room and master bedroom also have lake views. We had plenty of towels and the kitchen was well stocked. There were a few issues with repairs that needed to be made that they did not know about, but because the downstairs is a fully appointed unit there was no real problem. The manager was extremely helpful and responsive, which I greatly appreciated. We had never been to Florence and were knocked out by the the charming town, the many lakes and hiking trails, the dunes, and the sheer beauty of the place.

Deerhart for a week
Easy process all along...even when I had to alter some plans. Great views from upstairs and downstairs and the place is just minutes from the beach, Florence, and getting out on the water.

Wonderful space
This was a terrific place to rent. Great location and view and having two separate spaces for adults and teens really made it such a great stay. Hope to stay here again next year.

Beautiful area and gorgeous view of the lake. Was disappointed that we had no access to the lake. (The docks are all private). The neighborhood is very peaceful and flooded with birds and their beautiful songs. The house is clean and comfortable. Two sets of living quarters that are completely closed off from each other through the garage. (We would have preferred to be more connected with a direct stairway.) Good location close to lots of things to do. Nicely equipped kitchens, but someone must be taking the silverware home. Would be nice if the turn around in the drive was a little bigger. Would diffinately recommend.

Lovely house, great family experience
Lovely - noticed upstairs oven and ice maker aren't operable. These were minor annoyances since downstairs kitchen had duplicate facilities in good working order. Still, a letdown to have such basic functions of the kitchen inoperable.
2.0
The house was great and definitely in a peaceful and quiet location - which is exactly what we were looking for. The home is off the main road a bit, but close to stores for anything needed and just a short drive to both downtown Florence and nearby beaches. We really loved all the lake access as well. We may have been some of the first visitors for the season, but the biggest negative was the cleaning. Indoor dusting and sweeping the cobwebs off of the deck (large and spacious) would make a big improvement. We did have a small issue with the stove, but the host was very quick to respond and offer any help for our group. Would definitely return in the future.
