We had a great family vacation and were very pleased with our stay at the Acorn Lodge. The management company VPMS was very responsive with all my inquires before our arrival. The property was well kept. We loved that the house has two dishwashers to accommodate a large group. We also enjoyed playing ping pong in the basement.

Everything went very smooth. Good communication with property manager. Very comfortable. Thank you.

What a lovely cabin for a big group to share! We were impressed with the fresh and stylish decor. The cabin has obviously had a recent renovation and it’s nicely decorated too. Lots and lots of comfy beds and bedrooms, and the way the downstairs was set up more for kids while the upstairs was more grown-up worked really well for our group that ranged from 1 yr olds to 65 years old!

The house was easy to enter, accommodating for our group of hiking ladies over 50, and was nice and clean.
We needed all the separate rooms and bathrooms, and the laundry facilities were wonderful.
Neighborhood is pretty- roads are windy, but not bad. Short drive to SNP.

Absolutely the best house we’ve stayed at yet!!! Can’t wait to return!

Despite the rain and high temps, we had a great time learning to snowboard. And the house was a great spot to come back to, relax, and have a good time.

Very clean. Nice layout. Home appears to be older but well taken care of and no maintenence problems. Hot tub was clean & worked well. Bedding, linens and towles very clean. Have stayed at several properties in Massanutten Resort over the years and this cabin is in nice & easy to acess area. Plenty of parking for 4 vehicles in driveway and driveway is pretty flat area compared some of the very steep driveways we have in other areas of the resort. I highly recommend this house for families, as we had 13 with us and could have brought several more with no problems. Overall, great property for the price, as have paid much more for other houses that were not worrth the price.

Lovely stay. Ample room for everyone. Clean and comfortable. We did nearly get stuck trying to get out of the very steeply inclined gravel driveway. If there had been any ice or snow we would have had to be towed out. So if you don’t have 4 wheel drive you’ll need to park on the street and carefully walk to the house. There is no backyard or place for children to play outdoors (especially since there was no snow) which was difficult. But there is plenty to drive to to engage the children. (Tricky when half your grandkids have to take naps). There is a finished basement and a hot tub however, so we made do with the spaces when we couldn’t get away from the house. The kitchen was nicely appointed and there are TWO dishwashers!!! What a blessing for a group our size. I’m hoping the homeowner gets the note that the stunning light fixture in the living room was rendered useless by the blinding fluorescent office light bulbs. Some soft yellow bulbs would make a MASSIVE difference. There is a gas fireplace which we enjoyed every day and the Christmas decor put up by the property company was very much appreciated. We would stay here again.

This home was great. The pictures don’t do this property justice, it’s beautiful! Booking the home was easy and the property management communicated well. The check in was easy, home was cozy, clean and fully stocked. Jacuzzi was an afed amenity, was clean and nice and warm. Our family visited for son’s bday and New Years holiday. Everything was perfect. Will definitely visit again.

Very nice property, but one of the bedrooms lacks its own entrance and access is only via a different bedroom which makes it less useful.

Very impressive place, just wish the hot tub was working. We got a message a day or so prior saying it was out of order. Had I known earlier, I may not have booked. Other than that, no issues.

Great weekend. The house was clean, and in great condition. Well equipped.

This little cabin was perfect for 3 small families going to the various massanutten resort options, it's right in the middle between the ski area and waterpark. There was some dog hair or something left behind from before and we had some allergy issues due to that, which sucks considering the cleaning fees we're forced to pay, but otherwise the property was pretty nice and served its purpose!

Our family of 7 adults and 5 kids rented this home so we could have an extended family Christmas together. The home was lovely with plenty of room for everyone. To call the kitchen “well stocked” does not do it justice. We had everything we needed and then some. The two large gathering areas (main floor living room and basement game room) allowed us to do a variety of activities, and everyone loved the hot tub. They even decorated for Christmas. The location near Massanutten Water Park was very convenient, and check in and check out were easy! If we are ever in the area again, this will be our first choice!

Acorn Lodge was indeed a perfect log cabin getaway for a family weekend. We traveled from out of state to visit with family in the area and spent a relaxing two nights enjoying one another's company surrounded by fall foliage and mountain air. The cabin was expansive and well provisioned for cooking and eating together, and made our group feel at home.

This was a great place to stay. We had a university event here where 10 students stayed in residence with 3 staff. If you're a family, you might be pretty tight at 13 or 14, but we did fine. The spaces were great for meetings and it was very quiet. We enjoyed the ping pong table, hot tub and games. Would definitely recommend.

Great communication with the property managers. We had one issue and they were very quick to respond and maintenance came and took care of the issue right away. I was impressed but the amount of extra utensils and I felt like they provided ample pots & pans and extras to accommodate for a large group. If you have a large family/group trip I would recommend this house.

Excellent all the way around
The cabin was clean and well equipped with linens, towels, and all of the kitchen supplies we needed for a large group. The location was perfect for all resort activities. We thought there was an issue with the AC and reached out to the property manager. She was very accommodating and very quick to respond. We will likely stay at this cabin again in the future!

Just right for family fun
Our family enjoyed a lovely long weekend at this house in late May. The house was very well stocked. Having linens and towels provided was a great perk, especially for a short trip. Definitely make reservations well ahead for any of the resort activities. We missed out on some things because they were booked for the weekend by early Friday.

“Ski” weekend
We had a great stay! This is our third year coming to Massanutten for NYE and we really enjoyed this house. Plenty of room for our three families and plenty of entertainment for the kids in the basement. It was nice we did not have to bring our own dish/laundry/cleaning supplies and the kitchen was very well stocked. We had problems with the toilets and they were very responsive (could not get anyone out because of the holiday weekend but it was not a big deal and they were very quick to respond!). We would definitely stay here again.

Location and Condition
Wonderful location, near Shenandoah Natl Park and in the Massanutten Resort. Rental agent was very available and attentive. A few items didn't operating well or weren't as clean as they should be. One stair case has an unsafe area.

Mountain Getaway
The property was exactly as listed, very comfortable and plenty of space. The house was very clean, convenient not to have to take linen or towels and allowed for us to bring our family dog. All of the rooms were spacious for the adults and perfect for the kids. The location was beautiful and we enjoyed the waterpark. Harrisonburg is not far and we enjoyed dinner out! Our kids loved the hot tub and the table was perfect for the whole family. We had a great time! Thank you!

Great home, location; Improvements needed
Beautiful house in a great location. Roomy enough to be together and not cramped and have space apart. Until the bugs. The kitchen is well-equipped and roomy. Strong wi-fi and cell reception. We reported issues to property management during our stay. Replace the gas grill; flame inconsistent and not all rods lit. Before booking a review caused concerns about bed comfort. Other reviews didn’t note an issue so we booked. The bedding needs to be replaced and the beds were not comfortable. Two cabinet doors have hinge issues and the house wasn’t cleaned well; oven cleaner was caked on the inside of the lower oven and we found tinsel and dog hair on the floor.
We are grateful the owners let us bring a kitten which we unexpectedly acquired after booking. ‘Pets allowed’ means dogs because the owner’s son has a cat allergy. They could’ve said no and we would’ve adjusted. Owner restrictions required an adult to sleep in the main floor living room area where the kitten was allowed but we appreciated the flexibility.
We saw ants inside upon check-in and let property management; they asked us to keep them apprised. On our 6th night, Grandma and the kids moved from the smaller bedrooms upstairs to the large king upstairs. Pulling back the covers they saw about 10 bugs. We took pics and video of one of them. An Internet search assured us they weren’t bedbugs but likely springtails which are not harmful. Still creepy and a scare for Grandma and the kids. No one wanted to sleep upstairs. We doubled up in other rooms and let property management know about the bugs. They replied that bugs inside were normal in the mountains and suggested bugs entered whenever we opened the main door. That was dismissive because we’ve stayed in other properties at the resort without seeing bugs. We sent pictures showing gaps in the garage door which was a more likely entry. The 8th day they let us know they were trying to get an exterminator but it wouldn’t be for a couple of days. They had a can of Raid dropped off but we didn’t pay to be pest control. The morning of our 9th day we saw more bugs in the downstairs area. No one wanted to be in the house anymore so we ended our stay a day early. Property management offered us a 10% discount at any of their houses and we just don’t know yet.
It’s a beautiful house in a great spot so it's unfortunate things got in the way of a peaceful stay. We wish the owners and property management well as they work to improve the guest experience.

Great home!
The house was wonderful for our group of grandparents, parents, and children ages 19, 13, 5, 3, 2,1, and 6 months. There were a few issues with cleanliness but the property managers were very responsive. The resort had lots to do - overall a fun, if not too short stay!
